    Gresley A4 on GWR territory, whatever next! A hot day like that and you can't even lean out of the window, h&s strikes again.

    Actually, is the steam locomotive pulling the train? Or, the diesel-electric locomotive is pushing the train?

    • @tonys1636
      @tonys1636 Год назад +1

      Those luxury excursions are only steam hauled for part of the excursion as they often have multiple boarding points and it is used to haul the coaches out the way at the destination to allow the steam locomotive to turn around without hauling the whole train around a reversing loop (few working turntables left now) and allow it to be bunkered and watered with the coaches off being serviced/cleaned and restocked for the return. The carriages and some locos are privately owned by a rail tour company. Other locos are hired/borrowed from collections and preservation societies.

    Amazing drone footage as always Neil. Really cinematic-quality... I keep expecting to see Tom Cruise climb out and start fighting on top of the loco in another Mission Impossible. 😂
    Absolutely 💯 love your content mate ❤🍻🏆

    Always a shame to see a 47 dragged along as an "incase power source" at the back! At least thats vintage as well.
