- The return journey of the Flying Scotsman 60103 wasn't quite as fast as we would have liked as it was stuck behind a local train. With two done pilots, we followed it along the Dawlish sea wall and up the River Exe Estuary.
Thanks to Colin Campbell and Nigel, our RUclips Moderator, for the extra footage.

Thank you Pamela.
Great piece of photography. Thanks for sharing
Was great to see Flying Scotsman running in Dawlish and to be so close up to it on both passes, very impressive indeed
I went on a few family holidays to Dawlish Warren in the early to mid 60s, and every time we were pulled by a steam engine. Back then it was the only way. Never by the 4472 unfortunately.
The times I stood as a kid by that sea wall and watched the steam locos thunder by, and now the sight is such a rarity.
What memories this particular video has triggered in my head. That you so much for posting it.
So great to see a steam train not hauling a diesel along.
Reminds me of the Scarborough North Bay (miniature) Railway. They’ve been running an A3 replica there since real A3’s were in service.
Great stuff
Cheers Kevin.
Did this travel through this weekend.
Im down in dawlish in june
On Sunday.
Can see from all the excess steam that she was not designed to run through successive yellow signals being a main line express loco.
Nice video 😊
I got this on my drone coming into and leaving plymouth
When it goes from London to great Yarmouth in June I want to find what line it takes. Need to see it in person.
Seemed to be going slow through Dàwlish but great film and seeing great loco at work
Fantastic footage, thanks! Seems to be going quite slow, though? Any idea why?
A wonderful video of a masterpiece of British engineering. I wounder if King Charles has sent "her" (Flying Scotsman) the obligitory 100 yrs old Birthday telegram/card ? - Also I note @9:55 a car on the road indicating "right" only to pull over onto the right hand side of the road, to stop, right in the path of the oncoming traffic. 👍
Thanks Neil super video
Cheers Barry.
Wat ! No insulting diesel towed wow !
Very brave. !! Diesel probably following few miles behind. 😁👍
Kocham WAS I pozdrawiam z Polski.❤
Prefer a class 52 'Western ' . 😂
Nice video though, well done . 👍😁
I just don't understand why they didn't leave this tour until the height of summer! It would have made much more sense!!!!
I think they are concerned about safety and the number of spectators.
