Wanted to clarify after playing around some more. Prefect fit sleeves do work (defense position is a bit tight). What i tried in the video was Konami official sleeves. The double sleeve was Konami official sleeve with dragon armor as the outer sleeve.
@Food Daddy lol😂same my younger self would be like what is cosplay and no all my friends ar walking around with one and I need it to battle them lol😂 good times
Looks cool but I prefer Kaiba’s Duel Disk by Proplica in Japan. It has LCD screen shows life points, sound effects from the anime like reducing or increasing life points, summoning monsters and even turning on the duel disk to start the duel. Also, it has Kaiba’s voice clips and music from the anime.
The only reason to get this is the price, some sleeves fit, and the new arm piece. Other than that the original is better. Better silver color, a field spell zone, the long blade moves towards the center went joining.
The only downside to this Duel disk is that it has no spell card slot. and I'll be modding mine with LED lights to be show accurate, a microcontroller (either a Adruino or a Raspberry Pi) My own sounds, some switches and lastly better batteries. Just what does this Duel disk take for batteries?
@@MikePhoenixHERO sounds like that Duel disk there would better batteries like AA, or Lithium Ion and I meant to say Field Spell slot. Though that's just my opinion. Better batteries would make it last longer.
I know it's meant to be a cosplay prop and not actually dueling. But with that said, I think the USA deserves an actual battle city duel disk that's well built and functional just like Japan's Rush Duel disk and not just battle city but also orichalcos duel disk, gx, and different 5ds duel disks. All well built, electronic fully digital displays and sounds, comfortable, everything just like the rush duel disk
I’ve seen how lightsabers have all these high quality off-brands. I figured, why not do the same with Duel Disks? My short term goal is to see the practical use of such a badass concept (sleeved card fitting and all). My dream is to see full projection battle arenas. Call me the IRL Seto Kaiba but as a SAHF with lots of wood working skills and time on my hands, I want to kick start the YuGiOh Industrial Revolution! 🤘😎 stay tuned for whenever I post any vids of my completed works. I just finished a cool Red Eyes B. Dragon duel disk out of cardboard. The wooden one I’m working on is gonna be Millennium Puzzle themed. 🤘 Keep dueling, my friends. We shall meet on the arenas in the future! 😎
@guitarshredda64 when you perfect it all, ship me a Red Eyes Duel disk! As someone who plays nothing but Red Eyes, first rare card in 2002, to now having a binder full of red eyes, from NYC with a accent similar to Joey's, a teddy bear, its an understatement to say my spirit is connected to the card.
I noticed on mine that its missing the spring loaded flap in the deck slot, so theres nothing holding your deck in place, do the perfect fit sleeves make the deck snug enough to not fall out?
I got one. No you can't use sleevs even the correct size. I've messed with it some and Technically you can bend the plastic to fit, I was able to start bending it easy enough but I don't wanna permanently fuck it up, the plastic would definitely be obviously warped but regardless it would fit sleeved cards. Other issue is the monster zones don't fit either and that's a harder fix
Yano they should improved this Duel Disk for the 25th anniversary where they make it more authentic as where they put the metal arm cufflink on it so you can put the duel disk on or off your arm with a button like the show
Thanks for watching, and yeah i agree metal cuff would have been cool. This product was made for kids basically but they know the people buying it are adults. And for what it cost, there should have been improvements regardless who the target audience was.
I have a 1996 produced DD and just got this 2021 today on impulse: There's literally only one difference, which is no spring device to hold the deck down, and both don't fit sleeved cards or standard-sized cards, (and technically the exact materials used are probably different but both cheap plastic mainly). Someone just dug up the old patent files or something and sent it off to the factory. How disappointing
had one of these as a kid. deck slot was trash and after trying to put cards in the slots it bent one of my cards corner and i stopped using it. Good idea terrible execution
when i was a kid i raelly wanted a duel disk, even talk to a friend to convince him to buy one too, or ask for it in christmass, im really glad i never got one, what a waste, is more a cosplay accesory than a real board to play

Honestly if it was if it was me I'd just try & find the original. I had the original duel disk as a kid & it just looks like its better than this one. Though thats just my opinion
Yeah those first models was the best 👌 except the part where the duel disk fully executed it would get stuck and it would make random noises unless you took the batteries out and the arm strap will cause rashes if you didn't wash it (it was damn near impossible to wash) also it ate up one of my field spells Now I realize that nostalgia is mostly the one win I had against my brothers blue eyes deck 😳 when we used duel disks
Honestly, it has even less features. There’s no field spell zone, and the piece that holds the deck in place is no longer spring loaded, so there’s nothing really holding your deck in place.
6:43 yeah ofc it's for teens/kids and it's not really weird they made it that size to fit a child's arm bc their intended audience is for kids. Yu-Gi-Oh literally aired in networks and stuff like 4Kids etc so it's not "Weird." Yes adults are buying it but it would most likely be a parent buying it for their child and I can't imagine them intending this product to be for adults, if they did the arm strap wouldn't be so small
Yes but this is a 25th anniversary product, so clearly they are targeting (at this point) adults that watched Yugioh 25 years ago when it aired aka Yugiboomers. They could have at least added a 2nd arm sleeve to fit adults.
@@MikePhoenixHERO ok anniversary or not there's plenty of other franchises that also celebrate anniversaries, like Pokemon for an example For their 25th anniversary they did a McDonald's booster pack promo and if you went and bought a happy meal you'd get a booster pack and obviously it was intended for a child so anniversaries aren't always intended for adults, they also do stuff for kids too
@@MikePhoenixHERO the price doesn't really matter there's plenty of toys for kids that are 100$ and a good example of it is Lego sets, There's Lego sets that are 400$ like the death star and if u look at the label it says 14 and up and the same with hot wheels and other children's toys were the price is well over 100$
well the old one from the mid 2000s had it like the original release but not this one, and the other side of the field closed up as well before springing back too
well considering its a legacy item and the original duel disk toy i dont think they would 😅 they forgot to give it the field zone like the original had.
