As a german speaker, the german in the beginning was really surprising! German dubs often suffer from sounding very generic or awkwardly translated, but this REALLY fits the mood well! Whoever is doing the voiceover is definitly a legit german speaker. Guess it makes sense, "Richter" is a very german name. It actually means "judge"!

And i even recognize the voice actor Its K.Dieter Klebsch, he was the german voice of Dr. House XD He's also the voice actor of Alec Baldwin and has worked on a lot of other Games and Anime. He has voiced some awesome villains like Devimon, Yami Marik, oh and also Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War And yes his Voice Acting is AMAZING! There's a reason he has done so much voice work in TV, Games and even Movies! I could listen to his voice for hours XD

Phoenix was an economical version of Dragon with half of the power but half of the price. Tiger basically extended her horizontal range to the max.
Ever since the CV3 stream last year, I got really interested in the series. I've been marathoning most of the games since the beginning of this year and just finished Portrait of Ruin a couple days ago. Was really siked to see Simon and Richter get confirmed for Smash because they were some of my most wanted newcomers :)

Nah, Castlevania has many JoJo references. Zephyr from DoS is basically DIO Cagnazzo from AoS is Star Platinum reference Symphony has a Stone Mask similar to the ones from Phantom Blood / Battle Tendency Chronomage is a time stopper, well, that might be just a time stopper... OK Harmony of Dissonance also has a stone mask And Maria's attack is really similar to a Stand. Not Castlevania but the latest Bloodstained demo had the stone mask and was shown on Miriam when she wore it. Definitely similar to that stone mask.
Castlevania, if I recall, has always had pretty heavy Jojo influence. The specific stone mask from the first series shows up a lot, and Dio was a boss.

She takes more damage and I don't think she hits quite as hard, but her general mobility and attack speed kinda more than makes up for it (she also has a Stand). The game is a lot easier with her, but if you're not good at evading, it won't matter. Now, you want OP Maria? Look up her incarnation in the Sega Saturn port of Symphony of the Night. Not the one that came with the PSP Dracula X Chronicles, the Sega Saturn version.
reminder that between Bloodstained and the recent Smash news, Castlevania is currently on the same track Mega Man was before MM11 was announced. we could see a proper new Castlevania in a couple years if Konami ever realizes all they need to do is pay fans in Pocky and they'll make the game for them, like Sonic Mania and the new Metroid.
I don't get the bosses in CV. They kinda sorta telegraph their attacks, but there's no time to react, not with as slow as Simon/Trevor/George/Ringo are, and if they're close enough to be in frame to _see_ those telegraphs, then you're too close to avoid it. And the audio cues aren't distinct enough to avoid attacks if they're started off-screen.

I still haven't finished Circle of the Moon. I'm right at the end but I was getting the best armor, leveling up, collecting cards. That trials section is crazy, I don't think I'll get that done.
Surprised vinny didnt notice that stage 2 is a remake of stage 1 from the original castlevania. Also vinny should've used the bible sub weapon. It's the best weapon in the game. Not kidding.
Death hits can't kill you in this game. They look scary but even if you only have a sliver of health, it won't kill you. As for the soundtrack, almost every track in this game is great. I really like the last stage with the mix of Vampire Killer hidden in there.
I’m absolutely excited they put Richter in Smash because he can actually perform most of the moves in Symphony of the Night. Simon is actually the Echo but still the face of Castlevania. I’m more than grateful to have 2 Belmonts in Smash.

I love this game so much and seeing Vinny having a blast just by watching the intro cutscene makes me real happy.
Hope he does a 100% run, he will miss on some bangers if he just goes straight for the end.
Opus No. 13 is probably one of the best on the OST, but it's in what's pretty much the hardest level, not to mention it's a secret level.

I like that the Stage 1 boss is basically just a Castlevania-ified version of Ridley from Metroid

Translations around this time were still bad. Capcom and Konami are notorious for not caring about good translation and good voice acting.

Death hits can't kill you in this game. They look scary but even if you only have a sliver of health, it won't kill you.
As for the soundtrack, almost every track in this game is great. I really like the last stage with the mix of Vampire Killer hidden in there.

Personal favorites are Dance of Illusions, Ghost Ship Painting and Slash.

I’m absolutely excited they put Richter in Smash because he can actually perform most of the moves in Symphony of the Night. Simon is actually the Echo but still the face of Castlevania. I’m more than grateful to have 2 Belmonts in Smash.
