Probably late to say this, but what I think he needs to do is get past his voice and give the audience _an experience._ Take Lindsey Sterling. She's good at the violin, but is that the focus of what she's presenting when on stage? No. Her focus is _entertainment._ She's giving the attendees _an experience._ Von needs to bring the audience into his world, into his mind. What does he want the audience to _feel_ and _experience._ That should be the question in preparation for a performance. And whatever vocal technique he works on should be to _serve that experience._ edit: Talent gets a foot in the door. But knowing how to create experiences for people is what get you through the door.
It's interesting how people who can't sing at all are advising the one who can, he have one of the best voices ever and they say he's boring and some pointless advises, that's why I stopped watch American Idol, they are more concern about presence than vocals.
I remember when blogs released personal videos from some of the semi-finalists from season 8 performing/doing some gigs. Von was so impressive, both vocally and performing for friends, bars etc that I wad: Wow, this guys is a real contender (not only me). Than, light, cameras, action happened and nerves got the best of him/he performed like about 50/60% of what we saw/heard from his pre idol stuff. It didnt helped that the show had Adam with kinda the same background/big range voice but waaaaaay more prepared.
all of Katherine's performances are on RUclips already. theres a video called Katharine McPhee's American Idol Journey (Complete) that shows every performance she's done on the show with judges comments. its about 3 hours long, but in the description it tells you where to skip to to get to each performance. Ayla and Kinnik's eliminations have been requested and I'll get them soon. I assume your talking about Becky O Donohue. I'll get hers too as soon as I can. thank you for watching!
Von Smith is the best singer I've ever heard in my life, this show gave him a song in which he couldn't play with his voice and his vocal range as he is capable to do and even though he did it very well. Now he is showing the world the real Von Smith, doing incredible things and expressing and really connecting with people, applauses to him!
Bit demoralising being told you performed badlly. When your probably one of the most sensitive singers in the word.. These shows are purely money making control shows...or a 'Plastic Show.' Your way above that...
Haha look at him now traveling Worldwide making it without the cheesy Idol fake show's.
The best singer on the planet
I absolutelly love him! ❤😍
PMJ star now!
You are the best.... Ever..... So talented... ☺
you got even better since this
Te amo desde Argentina 😍😘😍
He needed to put much of his soul into the song and now he has.
Fantástico

do you happen to have Katherine McPhee from top 20 night? I'd also be really interested in Ayla, Kinniks, and Becky o's eliminations.
