    As a chemist, hobbyist woodworker, and safety advisor, I am all for air flow and air quality. This video was oddly satisfying to watch.
    Maybe you can use that new air filter with a future 3D printer as well when printing ABS or ASA.

    • @justinlaser

      Didnt even think of that! Makes ordering the 3D printer an even easier choice now.

      I currently have the Flux Beam Air and it does an OK job but you can certainly still smell acrylic. I'm tossing up getting the AP2 and using the existing Flux for my 3D printer as there's increasing evidence that 3D printers put more into the air than you think.

      as a human being and an "air breather" Im all in favor of air flow and air quality! whatever the fuck air quality means...

    especially that you tested Leather was on point for me, who does this extensively.

      The stinkiest but most satisfying material in my opinion

      Appreciate it! The fan is nice. Pulls hard and small size.

    Unless they have some differential pressure sensors between the filters, I think the monitor is just a run timer. Nice review.

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад

      Yeah its probably based on the hours rating for each. No sensors that I saw.

    In the scenario you described where you want to filter then vent the air outside, would it be beneficial to add an inline fan after the filter, particularly if you have a certain length of ducting to reach outdoors?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад

      Yeah you could do that. I would add it close to the exit of the workshop after the filter stage.

    I am sure that you haven’t focused on using the filter full time over the past two weeks. Have you run it enough to get a feel for the filter life across the range?
    Also, I bought the filter with the Ultra. I hesitate to jump on a second one so soon; what are your thoughts comparing the quality of filtration between the two.
    Thanks for your time!!

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад

      Yeah 2 weeks is a little too early to tell since the filters are still full capacity. They do have an "hour rating" per filter. This is direct from xTool -
      Cyclone layer: Reusable
      Pre-Filter: 100 hours
      Medium Efficiency Filter: 200 hours
      Activated Carbon Filter: 600 hours
      Ultra-Dense Carbon Mesh Filter: 300 hours
      High Efficiency Filter: 300 hours.
      The original smoke purifier might hold up decent for the F1 Ultra since its not a huge amount of smoke to clear. I dont think that unit is big enough for the larger lasers without burning through filter media like crazy.

      @@justinlaser thanks so much! I went back to find the the estimated life span on their site, and it was buried as a graphic on the replacement filters 🤦🏻‍♀

    What was the air quality results of engraving acrylic in the P2S. Also do you wear a respirator at all when cutting acrylic or leather? From what I have read those materials in addition to a few others can release toxic fumes.

    Great video, love the detail and analysis. Thank you for sharing it with us.
    Do you know if xTool is going to have an upgrade kit to upgrade the p2 to the p2s

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад

      Thanks! I think they have some kind of trade-in deal but dont quote me on that. The internals of the P2S are much different so I dont think its something they can adapt.

    Es gibt also keine Möglichkeit, die Smart Features mit meinem P2 zu nutzen? 🙄 kann man den BT Stick nicht direkt am PC anstecken?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад

      The Bluetooth plug needs into the laser not the PC. Smart features only with P2S.

  • @TimGautier

    I wonder if the internals of the IF2 are identical to the internals of the p2s fan.

    i can't help but think that Cubic Feet / Minute would be a better "gauge" of the fan's effectiveness.

    Filters cost?

      This is a great question because I built a housing for BOFA air filter replacements and it's only $530 for the two of those in my own housing.
      RUclips search for DIY BOFA filter housing, it's about a 15 minute video.

    How about testing the air that goes out the window and to the neighbors? Check that air quality, which I think is important as well.

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад +1

      I did some direct out of the hose and it was basically the same reading as inside. I couldnt smell anything at all. I will continue testing as the filters more filled to see how long it holds up!

    I hope you don't use the title "killer" in every other video like one youtuber who uses that word in almost every title, it's so pointless..
