i really like the le the best. the s model is nice bc the black interior. best of both worlds is an le with s interior swap for sure! also id recommend getting this as a 5 spd if u can. it gives it alil more fun for stock if you’re keeping it that way.
I bought my 2000 Corolla new, and I've been driving it for 24 years of course. It has 110 k miles on it, and it still runs like a top. I could buy a new car, but why? I just can't part with it because it's so dependable and it still looks great too. I love my little Corolla...I honestly think it will last the rest of my life, lol.
I have one that burns oil like crazy. I did oil change 2 weeks ago and already added 4 quarts. Had to add stp oil treatment and that has slowed that down.
Old corolla will burn some oil, just refill every month on an interval and you will be fine. Look into changing out the pcv valve if you haven't done it.
This generation Corolla does have one achilles heel - oil burning. Unlike the previous generation 1993-1997 which was the best generation ever built, this gen had some issues. As mentioned the oil burning from the all aluminum engine is the major issue in all trim levels. I do recommend the VE trim because there is less stuff to break if you want to keep the car forever. Most people bought the LE(luxury trim) with all the bells and whistle like power windows, locks, cruise control and power moonroof. These cars make excellent values for the money but the previous generation is better built.
I have an 02 LE that I bought new here in Toronto and it only has surface rust in the undercarriage and no rust on the body. Of course, it helped that I rust proofed it and that it has spent most of its time parked underground in my building ever since I started working from home in 2010 (it only has 130k KM/80k miles).
Bought one 10 days ago, got serious fuel leak. Now needs a new "fuel pressure regulator." I hope my luck is better after getting it back. Only 180k miles.
not my car! i think the CEL was for an 02 sensor and the blinking light was for the airbag sensor lol. while no car is immune to CELs and dash lights, the difference is that toyotas can drive forever with them on and not have a single hiccup or actual issue

It probably will! Toyota built these cars to last!

FPRs are pretty common problems on most older vehicles. It’s a very simple fix as well! I hope it serves you well
If my ob2 won’t read any codes how could I fix that with this car what could cause this issue?
I have no idea ! I don’t own this car , maybe someone who sees your comment will know though. Best of luck !
whys your check engine light on and something blinking?i my self have a 98 chevy prizm same as toyota with 286,000 5 speed.
