I feel like having my shirt randomly set on fire during a competition would be kinda fun.
    More ports, please!

Can I use a non ported 4.6 in an Apollo

? Adam said if you want non ported go with Athena. You don’t have non-ported Apollo without they have to fit a new barrel which is time consuming

Atlas is selling barrels now. I plan to buy an Apollo and have a non-ported barrel fit to the gun as well. Best of both worlds, you can throw the non-ported barrel in for comps. Unfortunately Atlas won't fit the additional barrel for you during the build process, so you'll need to find a good smith to do it, plenty of them out there.

@@bowlinrl thanks. I have an Apollo and was just wondering for when I wanted to compete in limited optics

@@OctaneAndAmmo Just get an additional barrel fitted. I would recommend Mercier Pistol Works and ask about the accuracy package. Eric does phenomenal work.

Damn good info Adam... I was that close to getting the Athena until hearing the introduction of the Apollo this year and also hearing Randy raving about he wanted the EOS until he shot the Apollo and he changed his mind. Lol... So I ordered the Apollo...Let's talk about Venom Customs for a sec... You guys maybe are associated somehow but if people are wondering which is best for any circumstance spending that kind of money I feel they should know which is best if they want the better of the two. Can we make that discussion happen..? 😎

You are talking about different things here. They fit into different use case. No one gun is “better” than the other for all use.
It depends on what you need them for.
Venom is at SVI price if not more expensive. I recommend buying it if you are competing AND you like Don. Otherwise maybe look into SVI.
As for Atlas vs Venom, Venom use a lot of Atlas parts like triggers and frame. I never liked the Atlas optics system but it is what it is. Don maybe spent a bit more time on fitting so you get a slightly better built gun. Not a lot as Atlas is already very good, but somewhat noticeable. Performance wise again, it’s similar to equivalent atlas, either Athena or Titan, with slight improvement (

Venom is using Atlas parts and building guns to their specs. They're amazing, it's one level above in terms of fit and finish. They're going to be offering a ported 4.6" version in early 2025 through Kovert....that's the one to wait for.

Lol, well, now im going to cringe every time I have to dry fire my Athena in IDPA to show clear.
I thought Isaw somewhere where you could dry fire it with no problems.

I have a brand new athena coming to my ffl this week. With a bad ass serial number too lol. BUT, I’m a range guy, don’t shoot competition, so im thinking the Apollo is more for me. With that said, looks like I will be selling my Athena when she gets here. Anybody interested let me know.
