Man, what an inexpensive place to live if you're on a limited fixed income. Those cabins were great! I wish them all the luck in the world in their endeavor. Great video!
Great road trip! And I most certainly appreciate that you own up when you misinterpret data, etc. As for showing the RV park before it's completed, I like that because we can see the before & after. Yay having morning coffee and a JC video I can hear the birds here n there too. Cool park set up. Nice views , good prices and Alma is a really nice woman. I can imagine it even nicer as they add more landscaping , trees and plants n flowers. Thank you
I enjoyed the tour and the little casitas. I could live there very easily I believe. Maybe something a little larger for rent? I’m wishing Alma and her family good luck in their endeavors. I think she will do very well.
It looks like her bathrooms, showers could be for handicap? That would be great!!! But could really see the floor in the bathroom shower. I think it's great...Thank You,For looking out and helping out your neighbors. Love it❣ I think we have forgotten to do this in America😔
Beautiful up there. Now I understand why more Volkswagon Bugs in Mexico. Their suspension would hold up under those road conditions. Great education and communication, thanks Jerry
What a nice lady and a nice place, thanks JC for this video and for asking alva to show you the cabin that's is in construction,im one of those people who like to see construction. Great job. Hello to Linn.
Another winner! How cool that people interested in rv travel in Mexico have such a convenient spot for a home base! I could definitely be happy living there! Gives the opportunity to also experience other parts of Mexico! Thanks for sharing.
That is going to end up being a fabulous place. It already has great views, good pricing and even includes utilities and WiFi (although much like you, I suspect the WiFi speed there is not going to be anything to brag about and might not achieve the promised speed.) If a person or a couple want to live very affordably in the Chapala area and they already own a good size motorhome that they would be comfortable living in full time then they ought to hightail it down there and get a spot before they pretty everything up and the demand goes up along with the prices. It presently seems like a heck of a good deal and darn hard to beat with only being 10 minutes from Chapala and offering some real peace and quiet along with it, which is something I suspect is not all that easy to come by in Mexico :-) I think that you did a great job with the tour and questions and if you had waited until it was all gussied up there might not be any spaces left! As it is, I think you gave interested people a great heads-up to get in on a very nice and inexpensive living opportunity. I just hope the new residents also have cars or motorbikes to get into town for food, essentials, and entertainment. P.S. You look much better in living color! :-)
Thanks so much for your videos on the Lake Chapala area. Spent 2 weeks there a couple of of years ago & was the best vacation of my life You are at the end of the dry season & about to start the rainy season. It would be interesting to see the change as things begin to green up with the rains. The area is beautiful dry. I can’t imagine how pretty it would be when green
Hi Jerry and Lynn... Thanks for sharing this information with us. I enjoyed seeing this new Park and the prices seem to be very reasonable...! Have a great day and be blessed.
Great video Jerry......I hope soon I can stay at this great rv park......seem to be very friendly people.....I might just try to get in on the ground floor
Seems various shades of yellow and red and your colour paint of your home is quite popular in Mexico. Cheap rates! I wonder how it will look once the park is complete. The woman (Hala I think she said, I don't know how to spell it) said showers, so far there is only one of each in video. Quick glimpse but beautiful sink, similar style but different pattern tiled sink. Oh see more of another sink. They would make a killing if they had 1/2 = dozen of them cabins for RV'er park guests of smaller sizes with bunks, pool, & half dozen washroom with showers, refreshment stand /hot dog/fries, burgers, salads, drinks stand if I had the money and it were my land. Though it looks like they are just starting out and building their way up. Thanks for the great tour. I get for years and only pay for 20 downloads with Cogeco Cable but I get. That rv park looks pretty good. Unfortunately I have a dog I won't part with. Actually if it wasn't for my dog, I'd be living in Mexico now. I remind her of that every day.
Dogs are not a problem in Mexico. There's lots of dogs. Accepted everywhere even in restaurants. Coming to Mexico with a dog is no problem. There are rules ... current shots, vets statement of health ... but I've never heard of them actually checking the paperwork at the border.
@@JCTravelStories I've traveled in and out of the US and Canada with a dog,m and only once been asked is he was vaccinated but they didn't even make me product the papers. I imagine it's even easier in Mexico.
@@JCTravelStories I know if you come by air, you need the health certificate you get from the vet and you stop by the office for animal control and show it to them and off you go. HAHA Funny Jerry! the camera trick :) Someone must have looked up your "quote" & had to prove you wrong huh? We ALL make mistakes, but many forget that. I like just listening to your stories not trying to see what I can pick out what is wrong. Thank you for the wonderful video I could smell the coffee too !! What a pretty view of the valley :)
Nice scenic view to that New RV Park which was top notch kinda place. Camara was more stable with less glare. We really enjoy your down to earth layman's terms home made videos JC. Mahalo for these choice videos.
I did enjoy the tour today. Thank you. Enjoyed the ride and scenery as well as the RV park. They're going to do very well with that. I hope you'll take us on some tours of Chapala also. I've seen some of it on RUclips but I know yours would be great. No matter where you go, it's fun to tag along.
Jerry, thank you for showing us around, and if I were planning to come down for say the winter, I would look seriously at one of those cabins seeing as I do not own an RV anymore. Once again a wonderful video and such nice people too.
Thank you for showing this Jerry. This place is already awesome and I can see how it is going the be amazing. The costs are oh my garsh. There's typically a nice breeze up from the valley there and a beautiful vista... If I had an RV I'd be staying there and I may still yet buy one.
Hi JC, Another great video. This question should have been asked last video. We have watched over one hundred videos about Lake Chapala all positive. We have planned for over a year and will be coming as soon as our house sells. A few days ago we viewed a video made on Feb 17,2019 by David Truly , he talked at the LCS Open Circle. He stated the crime has gone up to 38 % and that people are buying homes because they can’t find rentals. We did not take this talk as positive . For us his talk was the opposite of what we have been hearing. He appeared to be an expert on the area. Can you give us some peace of mind since we will be coming soon and need to rent . Thanks JC we value your opinion.
Rents are going up, the housing market is hot in the 200K range and flat in the 400 to 800 range. Affordable places in most ranges are available a little farther out from location, location, location in Ajijic. Crime reporting is up because expat groups and the local government have made progress in encouraging reporting of crimes. English speaking officers where you report crimes, phone numbers answered in English at the police dept, etc. That's part of what's talked about as increased crime. There are occasional upticks in cartel violence. 18 bodies were discovered just before that Open Circle talk just over the hill towards Guadalajara. A Canadian Expat was shot in Chapala just before that. Didn't know him and don't want to bad mouth the victim, but execution style slaying are targeted, not random. Cartel violence is serious, but it has little effect on our daily lives here on the north shore of Lake Chapala unless you're doing drugs, buying drugs, selling drugs, or starting your own cartel. Cartels actually hate attention. Multiple bodies are messages to the families of people involved in rival cartels. It all makes for a good speech to nervous expats at LCS. True facts don't necessarily get you to a true picture. Daily life here is calm. :)
it is true while you are not involved in the drug business, there is nothing to worry about, the bodies found are from rival groups, and they are a warning to others, they are not corpses of civilians
I remember helping my grandma was her clothes with the Mexican style washing machine lol man I thought my arms were gonna fall off, tho I did enjoy using it, definitely a memorable experience from my childhood, great video, can't wait to see more! Greetings from New Jersey
Haha! Our GPS has given us some pretty wild instructions, too! I think it is not so accurate in Mexico as Garmin would have us believe. Turning into El Rosario, it said 300 feet further than it really was.
In 2002 I came down the Mexican coast and it show me about 3 blocks out in the ocean the whole way. Its actually much better now. I can tell with my iPhone and google maps if I'm in my living room or out in the yard. :)
@@JCTravelStories Absolutely! Google Maps is the best way--it's what got us out of Culiacan when we got off track a bit. I'm sorry, but Mexican road signs can be a mite confusing . . . we made a LOT of u-turns! ;-)
Thanks again Jerry for the tour to RV close to Chapala. Owners seems to do a great job in developing this park. I continue to enjoy your videos and hope one day to visit the area. Judy (Las Vegas)
Wow! JC you really went out of your way on this video great information good stuff to know. We are looking into moving to Mexico to live a better and peaceful life we don't have an RV. But it sure be nice to rent a home or an apartment from there for what they are asking or maybe even less?.. And what a view it looks a little dry though is that normal not so much greenness when looking down into the valley but beautiful thanks JC for this information.
A week after the rains start .... mid to late June ... that view will look like the Emerald greens of Ireland ... The rains wane in late Sept. It stays green until about November, then gets dryer and dryer until the rains start again. You're seeing the greenery at its worst during the year the first week of June. :)
Thanks so much for this interview/information! I'm still considering living in an RV for awhile (after I sell my current home in the U.S.) I really appreciate and enjoy your videos! Hope you and Lynn are doing well!
Well, its not my project. Just a video for me. I ran into that lady at Walmart a few days ago and she reported that my video has generated some new business and she's doing well. :)
My complements to you and your videos. You are informative and entertaining and I really like your videos that show us the area. The road trips are great! I'm in Japan so watching what you do really hits home. Keep up the good work.
I love it. Good info. Im jealous of Alma she had the pleasure of knowing you and talking to you. I wish my husband and I could meet you. You should imviye all your viewers for a. Weekend cook out. We all love you and Lynn. My best to you both.
Omg. A That rent price of spaces or cabins. Soon everyone will be rented. This solves the problem for many expats. They want to explore for days or weeks Mexico. 170 monthly? Nothing could be wrong
I loved the tour. I was wondering about the Lake RV parks and their prices. ...That is if I can talk my hubs into ever attempting to come down and try out living there...for a few months.
Great tour Jerry. I did find her place some months back doing a google search for RV parks. I didn't mention it to you then, thought it might be a bit far to drive. After seeing this video, I see it it not. Ever thought of opening up your own ;) You might need a good manager, and I work cheeeep! :D LOL.
Wow; amazing ground-floor opportunity, for sure. One would need transportation available to rent the cute cabin. I had wondered before why you kept the Monaco in the US. I didn't know you couldn't have one as a Permanent Resident! So, if their "permanent resident" at the RV park uses up her Temporary Resident Visa (let's say that's what she has) -- at the end of her 4 years, if she were going for Permanent Resident Visa, she'd have to take the RV out of Mexico?
Good question. There is no requirement to become immigrata permanente. At the end of 4 years she could redo temporal. There maybe some other rule about RVs that I'm not up to date on. Something about a 10 year visa for RVs. The reality maybe that if its just sitting there and not being used on the road, nobody is paying attention to it. For me, its really 3 vehicles ... RV, Suzuki toad, and motorcycle ... plus ... flying back and forth is cheaper. :)
I'd love to see another tour when they are finished. You made some comment about not being able to bring your RV to Mexico. Could you explain why? Thank you for another great video!
Aa a legal permanent resident of Mexico, I am not allowed to have a non Mexican titled vehicle in the country. Its the same in the US. If you move from State to State you have 30 days to change your registration. I could bring the RV here, but I would have to nationalize it ... pay an import duty ... and its 3 vehicles ... 40' Monaco, Suzuki Jeep tow car, and a honda motorcycle hanging on the back. Expensive. And I have a house in Mexico. The RV is my USA home. :)
Although it's three years later I am just now following your awesome site as I'm thinking about checking this place out. As you are driving us all around Jalisco....I couldn't help but wonder how did you get to keep your vehicles if you are Permanente? Are they nationalized? I would love to see an informative video on keeping a vehicle in Mexico if you can fit it in! Thanks once again for this great informational video!
Great to see that some more affordable options are happening in Lake Chapala! Perhaps you may see us yet! We won't have a second vehicle though...just a c-class under 30' and looks like a long ways away from anything... Yeah, that other park in Jocotepec is closed in summertime...and that's when we'd be leaving the hot coastline and wanting to get up into cooler weather, so go figure....
Hi Jerry - I really liked this Video! We are Canadians and are in the planning stages of our Mexican retirement plans (we are still 8 years off) We have spent a great deal of time in PV over the years and feel its a great vacation spot, but for a number of reasons it wont be where we choice to spend 7 months of the year during our retirement. We plan to be in a 5th wheel in Canada during the other 5 months of the years in whatever cities our children happen to find themselves. We have been eyeing renting in Cholula, Puebla. But, your video opened up some interesting ideas, perhaps two 5th wheels is the way to go!.....Do you think this kind of price point is because they are looking to establish themselves? I have checked out parks in Sayulita, San Pancho, Cholula and PV. They all have much higher price points and renting a sticks and bricks makes better sense for us with the rates I'm seeing. As always I enjoy hearing "What on your mind today" LOL
Unbelievable ,I can Live for full year with 3000 dollar , great video
Man, what an inexpensive place to live if you're on a limited fixed income. Those cabins were great! I wish them all the luck in the world in their endeavor. Great video!

Omg. A That rent price of spaces or cabins. Soon everyone will be rented. This solves the problem for many expats. They want to explore for days or weeks Mexico. 170 monthly? Nothing could be wrong
WoW they're doing a great job... lots of hard labour!
Another great tour. Guess it takes a while to really know your way around, for us that is!
Nice video thanks for sharing.
I loved the tour. I was wondering about the Lake RV parks and their prices. ...That is if I can talk my hubs into ever attempting to come down and try out living there...for a few months.
Enjoyed your trip to the RV Campment.
Hi mr. J C have a good day and a good weekend, good luck for your guys.
Great tour Jerry. I did find her place some months back doing a google search for RV parks. I didn't mention it to you then, thought it might be a bit far to drive. After seeing this video, I see it it not. Ever thought of opening up your own ;) You might need a good manager, and I work cheeeep! :D LOL.
If I had control of the federal zone in from of me, I'd put a couple of pad down there. :)
@@JCTravelStories And *I* would be your first yearly renter!
That was a very nice tour and interview, Jerry.
Bendiciones!
Always interesting what you come up with. Thanks!
@@JCTravelStories Whatever happened to downsizing! Thanks for the info
I did down size. Got rid of the boat. Don't live in the 7000 sq ft house anymore. All relative, isn't it? :)
@@JCTravelStories Maybe we need to discuss downsizing.
Another great area introduction. Happy living!!:)
Really nice . TY
The “view” is courtesy of God - thank Him 😇
Love it. Good to know these place
Patzquaro. Summer RVing in the mountains. Check it out. :)
@@JCTravelStories Thanks! Will do.
Very nice people .
Good video amigaso
Very nice. Jerry, you need a hat. The sun is tearing you up
Never have been a hat fan. Have to take a shower to get rid of the hat hair. The BMW has a top. :)
Lee, really people need the 🌞 sun, it's good for you. Free vitamin D
Lori Holman I agree, but not so much as your skin peels!
Saludos desde ajijic Jalisco ilove your videos
Gracias Jose! :)
