At least it’s not raining
😂😂
One of your classics Preston
We need a theory on why Preston hates rain so much😂
Thank god, I thought you're about to say your thing
@@UraniumFever76have you even played fallout 4
"ANOTHER SETTLEMENT NEEDS YOUR HELP, ILL MARK IT ON YOUR MAP"
Kellogg speaking out of Nick’s body was a missed opportunity to have a “Fens Phantom” type mystery/quest.
When I first heard Kelloggs voice coming out of Nick's body, I was fully expecting for him to take over or something. Eventually nothing ever did come from it. Real strange for Bethesda to just put that in the game
Also, the cybernetic enhancements and stuff you get from him as well. Still don't know what it's used for.
@C0sm0sis taking up 2lbs of weight in your inventory without mods lol
That part was so cool and yet sucked nothing happened after.
Nick moonlighting as Kellogg with out his knowledge would have been a hell of a quest.
Preston should give you the quest to reclaim Quincy after you get the castle missions, or to invade nuka world with your minutemen army
I got a mod… every single time Preston says “At least its not raining” he jinxes it, and it starts raining
They should make a mission when you reach max relationship with preston where you gather a bunch of minutemen and take back quicky and create a new settlement there
Marcy Long! She stopped talking after I exiled her at Murkwater. 😂
Never thought Clint is what made Marcy so annoying
Clint shoulda been apart of a minutemen/ preston Garvey related quest
Fallout 4 has a big issue that I see time and time again. Despite the fact that the game is really good at making characters on paper, it has the tendency to screw them up in practice. I think that this is in large part due to how rushed the game definitely was. As well as the 4 choice dialogue system that limits player choice by a lot. Nick Valentine to me in many ways feels like what the Bethesda developers wanted to do with every companion, but they simply didn’t have the time. I also have a theory that Nick was the only companion to be fully fleshed out because they had to make sure his entire character was complete for the far harbour DLC in which he plays a large part.
I have played 1000s of hrs of Fallout 4, I always thought that Jun and Marcy were siblings. Damn.
In 4?... Probably Nora/Nate. Letting us actually customize them, actually effect Shaun's appearance, only to throw them out before the game even really starts? Such a waste. The Institute could have even used a synth copy of them as a bargaining chip, to get you on their side. But again, no: They're basically just motivation, and a waste of time.
And the real shame is I actually did want to avenge Nora. What little we got of them together at least made me care, at least a bit. That's more than can be said for Shaun.
Bro so Im in this play through rn where ive killed that guy multiple times now😂💀 never knew this im like level 75 and i still havent gone to diamond city just cleared Nuka World but havent distributed the land to any gangs yet I'm probably going to continue with the story right now🤣💀💀
Its almost like this game was unfinished or smth and instead of updating it and making it better todd said onto the next pile of garbage! And rerelease skyrim again but now with paid mods that disable achievements!
The Atom Cats, the Gunners, the Triggermen, Erickson the super mutant from _Far Harbor,_ Kellogg’s consciousness, etc. All were underused, unfortunately.
Time and time again I have the conclusion that if fallout 4 was ironed out more in terms of story and what to do in the game, it would've genuinely be the best fallout. but as of now it's the best fallout in terms of gunplay and in terms of story its possibly the worst.
Fallout 4 is one of those games that could easily have been so much better. It's a shame how often Bethesda games stop just short of being great, and decide to instead settle on being just good.
@@pixel6698 just average*
@@czarnakoza9697 It's a fun looter shooter and open world sandbox, but it has nothing that makes it an actual RPG. Nevermind that, so many of the writing decisions are awful.
@@pixel6698 it's a looter shooter with RPG elements, nothing more nothing less
Its almost like fallout 4 completely missed a ton of opportunities to make preston garvey a character and chose let him be a shallow meme quest giver.
I don't know Bro.
If you get affinity with him he reveals he was ready to give up on Life after what happened on Quincy had It not been for the Sole Survivor making him wanna fight and live Again.
He was just thinking in dying (even if It didnt mean ending things himself).
Like i don't think he should be judged because the programmers didnt care to give him More than 5 lines "another settlement needs our help"
@@mikeym.4724I don't think people are judging Preston. I think people are disappointed that Bethesda didn't do more for Preston. That's pretty much. Fallout 4 is a wasted potential.
@@mikeym.4724 Preston Garvey is a great character.
On paper.
A good man who truly wants to help and still holds onto ideals of civility and progress in light of terrible loss and betrayal.
Unfortunately, the best the devs could come up with is "Even though you are a general, I will boss you around. Constantly."
Much like the lore and world of Fallout, Garvey has so much potential.
And like Fallout lore, Garvey was not fully explored in fallout 4, we get a bunch of shallowness and just a glimpse of good ideas.
@@johntaylor7029 i have faith that the OWB devs are gonna fix him, once they reach the east coast of course.
@@johntaylor7029
I get It.
But honestly I wasn't bothered with him bossing me around, because after i took back the castle and got every settlement under minutemen control i stopped playing with the Minutemen and decided to continue the main Quest with the Brotherhood.
Which meant It was More enjoyable getting Liberty Prime back online, than building the Minutemen on my own to battle the institute.
Thus why i get people think he Is annoying, but to me he Is just another companion i like. (Like most of the companions except the institute Synth, the super mutant and the DLC Raider).
I Guess people who went with the Minutemen really didnt like getting bossed around by Preston lol
The Atom Cats. Which Atom Cat was underused? Yes.
Yes!
@@duketogo25 I like how Zeke's outfit give +4 unarmed, whatever that means since unarmed isn't a stat in Fallout 4
@@Wario-The-LegendReally?
I’ve never even met em
Insane to think Bethesda created the idea of Greaser style fallout gangs in f3 with the tunnel snakes with NV expanding upon the concept with The Kings, a fan favorite faction. Then, f4 rolls around and makes the Atom Cats one of the most nothing faction ever.
Honestly the gunners as a whole were under used. I would have loved to have a story about who was their leader how they came to power. Imagine you had the option of making them an ally. Is a brotherhood conquers them the railroad hires them with a minute Men defeats them and gives members the option of joining them.
considering how much they’re brought up around the beginning with the minute men going to sanctuary, quincy and the gunners there really have no purpose other than some terminal lore and a special item, really a fatally underused plot point for the minute men
@@cys_box one thing I thought they were going to do that I call interesting is maybe the founders of the gunners were former minutemen. Maybe years ago there was a schism in the group and some were much more self-serving. So they decided to leave. The then use their experience to build an army of mercenaries.
The Vault 75 quest could have led to an entire line of quests down that path explaining them. So many half baked ideas
bethesda do what they want to do, bit biased they are now
Wasted opportunity not making the retaking of Quincy part of the Minuteman quest line.
This 100%
it would really show they're back and in strength, and it'd add a major settlement in the south of the map
It would make sense as a side mission for preston once you have enough affinity with him, and enough minutemen camps. If he trusts you enough to ask for your help, and says this is personal, he doesnt want the new minutemen dragged into it. So many missed opputunities as usual bethesda. And it would hsve made him more human and less irritating
It and GNR should of been minute men quests. GNR is the final nail in the coffin for the gunners storyline and gives the Minutemen 3 large bases with a stronger signal booster. How could would it have been to have a dlc have minutemen waiting at the ready after hearing the call to arms? That a militia was forming into an army?
Helping Tenpines Bluff and becoming the General is step one.
Retaking the Castle and unifying a good bit of settlements is step two.
If we'd been able to retake Quincy and unlock it as the largest build area of the base game and bring it back to being a major city like Diamond City and Goodneighbor, it would've given the Minutemen their own end goal to push for rather than just jumping in on the Institute conflict.
It's so weird that they put so much effort into Quincy, Libertalia, and the robot race track and then did nothing with those areas. Just places to shoot bad guys.
the race track specfially cause it could have been totally fine as a event zone like combat zone cold have been.
Kinda shocked no one has made mods for the race track like making a betting minigame or something
Cut content, sadly. They didn't have time or the resources to include everything they'd planned to. Fallout 4 is littered with these tombs to a developer's ideas, sadly.
@@peterclarke7006"didn't have time" they had 6 years and produced a game subpar in every category except movement
@@milk1472 I never said they couldn't have made a better game, I said they didn't have time or resources to add a lot of the content they actually wanted to. Quite the difference.
Now, I agree with you that the game misses the mark on a great many things, and I personally feel they seemed to have quite a fractured, disconnected approach to a lot of it, but that probably means they used those 6 years to focus on things that meant they couldn't focus on actually fleshing out the world, which is a serious failing in a fallout game, in my eyes.
The quincy drops site massacre
Horus isn’t in this game or the God Emperor of Mankind.
@@SvenTviking Disappointingly bitter
@@SvenTviking preston is the emperor, clint is horus, nate is ferrus
At least in my game, i was decapitated😂
@SvenTviking the correlation is that after the fall of the minuteman due to events outside of their control and partially their own ignorance. They tried reuniting the minuteman after the fall of the castle kinda like the the Great crusade and unification wars with colonel Becker being the God emepror. During their rise they were betrayed by someone who was younger than Becker wearing power armor and was trusted and respected like a commander would be. He gave into the ruinous powers like horus but instead of corruption it was intrusive thoughts to join with the gunners. The day of his betrayal he fired from the high ground at his former minuteman who were basically picked off one by one after the minuteman came to quincy to protect the settlement just like istvan.
Thus the correlation between the horus heresy and this event in the game. Yes I know it's not 100% similar but it's close enough to where even if you think about it all it makes sense
I think young synth Sean was under used. It would be awesome to travel the wasteland your son who you spent the whole game searching for.
Yeah mine’s bugged and I can’t even give him the damm microscopes he asked for once and then never again has a conversation
I've played through at least 7 or 8 times, and I have never taken synth Shawn with me. Call me a monster, I've heard it before 😂 but I've never felt like the character should want to bring them back. Their wife and son are gone...why would they want a permanent reminder of what could or should have been? The idea that my guy would want to take a 10 or so year old synth who was created by his corrupted son (before they decided to off them and everyone at the Institute)...that's always going to stay 10 by the way...and treat it as a substitute for my broken/dead family always seemed absolutely barbaric and delusional.
Besides, if I want a family I'll start a new one with Piper...or maybe it'll be an accident when I'm on a "business trip" with my "coworker" Cait 😂
The fact Preston doesnt say anything when you take him through Lexington, particularly the Super Duper Mart where you discover his recently deceased companions, is pretty endemic of the writing throughout the game.
“You’re not even alive” continues to get head blown off
"Then I'm in good company. 🗿"
"You're not even alive" neither are you
The Atom Cats were definitely underused. They could have been a significant faction.
Would have been cool to build them up a bit!
@@UraniumFever76 Imagine if you could ally them with the Minutemen? I imagine if you did, you might be able to see a rare minuteman spawned with the Minutemen T-45 armour.
@@WretchedRedoran that would be awesome 👌
The Triggermen. They had so much potential to be a serious faction in the Wasteland.
Actually, all of the fallout 4 mafia's
“WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME”
I want your hat!
YOUR POWER ARMOR !
WAAHH BIG BLUE MEANIE WONT WEAVE ME AWOOONE! 😭

Retaking Quincy from the Gunners should've been the climax of the Minutemen questline.
Afterwards, Preston has word on another settlement that needs your help
I have Preston chill in Sanctuary like many people do and I use it as my main HQ. Every time he says that at least it isn’t raining quite I shoot off one of the weather changing shells and bring in a storm just to spite him
This should've been the side quest while trying to get the affinity with Preston but it appears it was cut from the game.
This was insane that bethesda didnt at least give him a little blerb when you engage him in combat and when you kill him
Bethesda really fucked over preston, anyone whos added the mod enough about the settlments already preston will realize he's just a pretty decent companion once hes nolonger giving you a radiant quest every time you talk to him.
the entire MM faction feels like it had cut corners
Preston garvey himself could be a deep character, but bethesda just made him a minutemen guy
Nick's comebacks, man. So good.
Wow a missed golden opportunity for character development, that's Bethesda for you.
Nick Valentine literally carry the whole game and, like unironicaly good thing he is robot, normal human will brake his back .
Oh... I have a huge list of NPCs that were underused.
1. Sully Matis
2. Macready
3. Preston Garvey
4. Ericson (Far Harbour)
5. Hammer (That named Super Mutant and God knows why they named him)
6. Proctor Ingram (one of my fav characters. Sis should really had great personal story line more than what we know. Such an interesting character)
7. Paladin Brandis
8. Wellingham
9. Captain Bridgette and other Captains of the gunners. And that main guy of gunners
10. The one and only Ronnie Shaw
And the list goes on....
Bethesda makes good characters, refuses to give them ample backstory. Guess world building and environmental story telling took away all of their energy and they thought "who cares about characters anyway"
That’s pretty interesting
Fun Fact: if you serch up "mentions of the lone wanderer in fallout 4" the internet will say "a perk is called the lone wanderer" and "a facial hair option is called the lone wanderer" but one thing that doesn't show up is when a synth talks about the lone wanderer if you dont believe you can try. The synth is called "R4-04," and she spawns in the railroad HQ after you complete 2 missions for Doctor Carrington
Think you could do a video about all of the follower reacting to the General Atomics Galleria?
For sure, il be doing companion reactions to everything just going to space them out a bit. Couple more next week but il add that to the list.
Thank you so much!
We really need modders to expand on this stuff, an overhaul to Preston and his group, to Kellogg/Nick's situation, and making the Railroad's quests feel/play like Metal Gear Solid
Haha I’ve never even seen Clint alive longer than the time it takes to kill him. 😂
I think there was a cut quest where, after retaking The Castle and getting artillery, you gather an army of Minutemen and run the Gunners out of Quincy, which eventually becomes a major settlement like Diamond City.
I think that got recreated and is now creation club content
Taking down the mf who betrayed you and killed everyone you knew: I sleep
Helping random settlers fight a molerat: Real shit
Under used Npcs is the name of the game if the game is fallout 4.
Taking Quincy should've been a Preston quest
Nah, what about the Minuteman raider running Libertalia that gets erased from the game by a story quest?
When im on a wasting of characters competition and my opponent is Betheada: 💀
I played fallout 4 since it came out, and I just realized that I haven't discovered all the rare npc stuff...
So this what I did as a good narrative for Preston Garvey, after completing the castle and getting The Prydwen to Boston Airport. I acquired Jamaica Plain and sent all my companions, The Named settlers from Sanctuary Hills (Mama Murphy is locked to SH after the 4k patch) and all the lvl 4 traders. Soloed Warwick Farmstead. Last step: Transfer all the lvl 4 merchants, than the named NPCs, all your companions from JP to WH I sent 20 NPCs through Quincy to help get Preston his revenge on Clint. P.S. make sure everyone has standard nukes or Unique Legendaries (this choice was epic). Cause when you start fighting a chance for a Vertibird to show up becomes insane city fight.
I feel this is due to the dialogue choices because I think even in NV, your characters had something to say, either through interaction or just spouting it out.
And I fully agree with Veronica, House having only 2 robot wives? If I had that much potential power, I flex with 3.
I was surprised Preston had nothing to say with Clint, maybe not even a quest but like how Boone has dialogue just for killing Caesar with him in NV. The Quincy fight was great for me since I was low level and outgunned. Ended up at one point grabbing a fridge door to use as shield at one point.
Also Tommy in the combat zone was the most underused imo, but the combat zone was underused period.
Really wish there would have been some kind of special dialogue from Preston either between him and former MM like Clint and James Wire, or with the SS after you kill them/read the terminals about them.
Or maybe Preston having a companion quest to track down a list of ex-MM who either abandoned or betrayed their comrades. And the last name on that list? The traitor, Gunner Lieutenant Clint
We could have had an institute/memory den quest where we have to go into a simulation to kill kelogg’s conciousness and remove him from nick
If they actually had a quest to help preston avenge his fallen brothers hed be my favorite character. I know theres the CC quest but woulda been cool for preston to have dialouge
The whole idea of quincy was underused as a whole. Like when I first heard of it I imagined a huge battle to take it back , sm akin to the institute attack. Ik it's been solved with the creation club add-on but still , Bethesda missed out.
Fallout 4 is the quintessential definition of “wasted potential”
The conversation with Nick and dima at far harbor is good 👍
It should have been a companion quest for Preston to take over Quincy and then it into a settlement.
Missed opportunity to have a companion quest in quincy
the idea we couldve had a mission where we liberate Quincy with the Minutemen and then make a confrontation with Clint where we can convince him to surrender before we fight him (which would be cool to see the empty jail in Diamond City used and have Clint in there awaiting trial for treason) and if that fails we can accept his surrender after the fight while he pleads with us to stop or we execute him then and there after we fight him, and then later if we go to Gunners Plaza we can see on the terminal a report that Quincy has fallen to the Minutemen
An NPC that I think is extremely underused is the diamond city radio guy! Especially because there’s not even any special dialogue from meeting him even though you’re listening to him throughout the entire game!!
I mean, he does have his quest line if you count that where you can even make him sound braver on the air
Other than the series of quests you go on to make him less of a coward.
He has a quest called confidence man that you can from talking to Vadim in the dugout inn
Ok wait a minute are you telling me that there’s an entire quest line about him that I didn’t know about?!
@@Enderguy-v3d yeah it's about trying to help him get his self esteem up
The Triggermen. Only Malone seemed relevant to anything, the rest just kind of existed.
Man i never knew Mercy Long and Jun had a son 💔
Yeah jun talks to you about it once you guys reach sanctuary. You can ask about his sons name and he'll tell you his sons name was Kyle. Not much else though except some condolences.
The roach king
Surprised you got away with showing Eddie Winter's head pop at the end. I don't know if it's different with shorts, but a lot of Fallout content I've seen on RUclips has to blur that sort of thing out.
But yeah, would've been nice if there was more you could do with Quincy in the game.
The main thing that gets my shorts demonetised is language. Any curse word is pretty much a guarantee but apparently even 'dick measuring' was too much. Despite choosing the 'not for kids' option when uploading... think they've taken it too far tbh.
Quincy is genuinely the most underused part of FO4. All those buildings and lore but it's basically just an overrated vertical dungeon. Clear it out and no one really cares. Don't even get to build on it 😅
Shame they never had a proper mission for reclaiming Quincy
Its almost criminal that Quincy cannot be liberated and restored as a settlement.
Game was such a disappointment.
All that time spent making it and a majority of people prefer NV.
Preston for sure has a weak storyline but his perk is great and worth it, his, Deacon's, and Strong's story
Everything to do with Nora’s legal career.
It doesn’t affect her interactions with Nick or the robot murder mystery. Nate’s flag survives but Nora’s diploma is gone.
Oughhhgghg dude I tried to solve eddie winter's story by my own, and you shoved the quest's sharp moment out of nowhere
Funny thing is, than if you manage to kill Eddy before he even talk... You'll have the notification than Nick love it! loll He just don't care about what he have to say...he just straight want him d3ad! I don't let Kelloog's talk too...it change nothing to the story!
I thought Jun and Marcy were siblings and also like 20-30
More proof of bethesda shipping a buggy unfinished product. As if there weren't enough of those in game as is. The lack of development for Preston is one of the reasons why he is one of the worst companions in the fallout series
Missed opportunity with fallout 4 is not telling Pickman about nuka-world
Ah Quincy... my favorite place to try the radio songs.
OH NO!!! I sniped that guy when I was doing Nick's Quest. Does this mean I ruined another minuteman Quest? DAMN IT!!! 😭
Atleast its not raining, but ive gotten word of another settlement that needs your help, ill mark it on your map
NPC who’s created the current state of the minutemen: bottom priority
NPC who’s entirely irrelevant aside from Nick valantine: top priority
90% of the NPCs were underused in Fallout 4.
I can name maybe 6 quests where the NPCs felt well utilized in any regard.
If only every companion had their own quest like in New Vegas
Marowski and Skinny Malone were both underused imo. I know each plays a small parts in other quest lines...but I feel like those parts were too short and underutilized what those characters were supposed to represent...
Which is: The mafia. There really is no organized crime in the Commonwealth. The triggermen faction is supposed to be that, and easily could've been portrayed as a mafia style hierarchy group. Instead they were a minor group and basically became an afterthought once you pass level 15 or so. - "Don Marowski would've had you made, kid! And you blew it for what? Some caps and the dame? Hope she was worth it..." *tommy gun shootout intensifies*
Every major NPC was sadly underutilized.
Every faction was sadly underutilized, and for the time they said they spent developing the game, it certainly didn't feel like it story wise.
Still love the game, and there's a lot of terminal lore that expands information of different side stories and lore, that could easily have been a 2-3 line dialogue option in numerous situations.
I wish they would’ve added quests for the Minutemen & Gunners lore.
Everybody is underused in Fallout 4. Bethesda had cut a lot of content. The most underused npc who was Manta Man. How could the lunatic not be my companion? Or the unseen lunatic npc who make bomb and motorcycle sound from his mouth? (Sadly he was killed by raiders)
🤪 Atom Cats were cool... Not the greatest in power, but looked great doing it.. Same with the Children of Atom... why no "religious element?" New face paint for it, but no option to be the mothman version of devotee in FO4... Hell, if they bring Ghouls as PC to fo76.. why not Ghoul faction in FO4? 😂
Quincy is a sad under developed part of the game. It's too bad how in the game has been left barren :[
Like Starfield...
"The son of Jun and Marcy Long..." I have thought for years now that Marcy was Jun's mother 😬
The son of Jun and Marcy? I thought they were siblings. 😅
The Minutemen really should have a side quest that takes them back to Quincy and have Preston face the traitor down.
I don't remember ever seeing this Clint guy. He sounds familiar, I know the Quincy story, minus the mod. I revisit Quincy to kill raider respawns. I seem to remember picking up a power armor suit. I definitely don't remember the hat, I would have collected it. I'm confused.
Wasted an opportunity on Preston's part but Nick on the other hand...
Another missed opportunity is meeting fake Preston Garvey with real Preston as your companion. Nothing happens. Would have been nice for real Preston to call him out.
"clint...... Why..... WHY DID YOU DO IT"
*clint, on his final breaths after getting bullets rained down on him*
"You think...... You think i cared what to you pompous assholes..... You act like your heroes when all you do is foght each other "
I cant cime up with any more than that sl if yall wanna add on to this go right on ahead
"Then I guess I'm in good company." Legit the coldest line in the game
And the "unique" laser gun he's supposed to drop will despawn if you move away from the cell he loads in for the first time. Same for the unique power armor parts from another named NPC in Quincy. Thanks Bethesda :)
Even with mods... The Minutemen had so much potential, still a fun faction to play with if you are feeling extra patriotic, though.
I would say that it'd be cool if Bethesda could pull a Skyrim card and release another special edition with the Minutemen MUCH more developed... But Bethesda would just mess it up.
The more you really look into it the more you see what a GIGANTIC waste of potential fallout 4 was..like Jesus Christ it's not even funny how much of an empty hush this game was/is.
Killing it with the most recent update was a mercy
Everything in fallout 4 was underused
