You can drop as many enemies you want but at the end of the day if they're still pushing faster than they're dropping you're still going to lose. This happened to finland they may have done relatively well, but they still got progressively pushed back and lost a far more significant percentage of thier population. The Soviet union was simply too large to fight.

It was always going to be a loss for Finland, but thankfully Soviet incompetence made it a bitter victory

The range was 150 meters, and the loader told me it was already at 150 meters and that I should shoot. But I thought that no, I wouldn't risk it, because the rocket had a curve to it's trajectory and if it did not hit the first time, that was that. It was you or them. I waited until 80 to 90 meters or so and sent the rocket off. It hit between the turret and the hull and after a short time, it burst into flames. In the midst of all the horror, the thought of whose sons were in there slipped into my mind. Even though during war-time, thoughts like that shouldn't cross one's mind."

God damn
I remember reading an article where this song was played on repeat for three months on certain frequencies to jam Soviet radio mines, preventing the Soviets from blowing up scattered radio mines.
This actually happened. It was very effective, and it is often considered one of the greatest things Finland did during those times.
Not just this song but also religious sermons due to soviets being stout atheists.eventually the soviets put the mines on a different frequency so the Finnish said fuq it and played it on ALL frequency's
@@jameshumphrey5972 I have a feeling the person who now has to put the songs on all frequency was happy since he get to blast his favorite music everywhere
they didn’t scramble the mines, they detonated them
@blu I heard that as well but apparently the Russians heard about it and tried to use other frequencies to detonate them. This wouldn't be necessary if the mines blew up.
This is one of the best; ambient noises wise, the sound of bullets being loaded at the start, proceeded with the ambush starting with a molotov cocktail; the hatch of a tank opening; and then the sound of the ensuing chaos while the sound of snow and the forest/wind still in the BG... it builds a story really well

The strangest thing about this video is that hearing this song in a firefight during the winter war is not at all historically inaccurate.
This recording and the lyrics were made post-war, as the lyrics lament the loss of Karelia in the Winter war. There is 0% that this exactly could have been heard in any war. The most prominent recording was made by Vili Vesterinen and the Dalapé-orchestra in 1939, which was also the version used to jam Soviet mines' radio signals

A Russian batallion is marching through the Finnish woods when suddenly they hear a shout behind a ridge: "One Finnish soldier is worth ten Russian soldiers!"
Surprised, the commander ordered ten men over the ridgeline. There was some shooting, some shouting then silence.
Suddenly the same voice shouted again from behind the ridge: "One Finnish soldier is worth a hundred Russian soldiers!"
Angrily the commander ordered a hundred men over the ridge. There was a lot of shooting, shouting, explosions, then silence.
A third time the voice cried out from behind the ridge: ""One Finnish soldier is worth A THOUSAND Russian soldiers!"
Enraged, the commander ordered a thousand men to charge over the ridge. There was a tremendous amount of shooting, shouting, screaming, explosions, the cries of the dying, then, eventually silence.
The commander looked to the ridge when a lone figure came crawling over it - a badly wounded Russian soldier. He rushed to the soldier and asked him what happened.
The soldier, with the last of his strength, grabbed the commander by the lapels and said "It's a trap, comrade - there are TWO Finnish soldiers!"
