No swaps and died once but respawned when she only had 10k HP left and managed to finish her off with 3½ mins left on the clock. I'm really dreading the Ryu fights and the Tower bosses on hard *shudders*
Would it not be better to use regular Jormuntide instead of Ignis when facing Ryu for the extra water damage or is there something I'm missing here that makes Ignis better?
Ignis has slightly higher attack and is not weak to p2, so you can wait with the pal swap a bit longer into p2 which greatly helps the survivability of the orserks.
Attacks are called Active Skills, so a Skill Fruit teaches an Active Skill (attack). Skill Fruits are found on Skill Trees, in dungeon reward chests and sometimes on the ground in the low level areas. Seed Mine is one of the best attacks and can be taught to pals via the Skill Fruit: Seed Mine. Some skill fruits can also be bought from merchants, the ones to look for there are Seed Mine (Very Good), Flare Storm(good) and Acid Rain(decent).
I'm breeding J Ignis now. What skills should I use on them? I have Holy Burst. I see a lot of people use Air Blade. Is that good for raids? Which water skill should I use - Splash or Wall Splash?

Catching necromus for regular Libero is fine. For Libero (Ultra) you want bred pals with good traits, either libero herself or shadowbeak are great.
Jetragons are fine. I used them against Bellanoir Libero prior to the Sakurajima update and they did well.

what's the reasoning for using Orserk team on Phase 2 Ryu? why not use a ground pal like Anubis team?
Orserk Resists more attacks from Ryu than Anubis.
How do you get Legend on ignis if it only breeds with itself? Also how you get holy burst on him?
Ignis can be bred with Jormuntide + Blazehowl now.
Would army of Knocklems be effective as replacment for Orserk?
It will work, but it won't be as efficient.

Against Libero I suggest Air Blade - Beam Slicer - Lightning Streak/Seed Mine. Seed Mine can be bought from merchants and will work just fine.
