If I could have any singer in history to sing a theme for a classic western it would be hands down Frankie Laine. He had the perfect voice and style for it.
It clearly says copyright 1956. And with Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, John Ireland, Lyle Bettger, Lee Van Cleef, together with Rhonda Fleming, Olive Carey, what a cast! and this immortal music!

I saw the film long ago as my late Dad took me to the movies to see it- It was a good film, and the actors were very well chosen, one could actually believe something like that could have happened, and the song is unforgettable.

J'aime beaucoup ce film ,avec une très belle chanson , et surtout quant il s'agit de Kirk Douglas ,l'un de mes meilleurs acteurs favoris , particulièrement dans les westerns.

今となっては数十年前のことですが、所用でこの町の近くまで行くことがあり、ついでにツームストンの街までドライブしました。ブートヒルという墓場を見て歩いていると、地元の御婦人と思しき女性が話しかけてきて、（大阪弁でいうと）「あんたはん、親戚の墓でも探してはるんでっか」と云われたのには驚きました。きっと先住民と思われたのでしょうか。いまでも、この映画を見るたびに思い出します。苦笑
