The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Italian: Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo), is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach in the title roles.
Ennio Morricone composed the famous film score, including its main theme. It is the third and final film in the Dollars trilogy following A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965).
Leone was unable to find an actual cemetery for the Sad Hill shootout scene, so the Spanish pyrotechnics chief hired 250 Spanish soldiers to build one in Carazo near Salas de los Infantes, which they completed in two days.

Every body in this film made it the best film ever. Clint, Eli, Lee are amazing. God knows how many times I have watched it and never tire of it... It just gets better and better with time.
agreed.....best film ever made...eli wallach doesnt get the credit he deserves......he was the main character......
De
Nobody messes with Tuco
Eli Wallach made this movie work. Love his character.
"When you have to shoot .... shoot! Don't talk!" - Tuco.....
Yep he did something very similar for The Magnificent Seven in making the bandit leader a memorable character. His mannerisms in this movie are great and his scene with his brother is one of the better scenes in the movie as it was really believable. That also created a bit of a turning point in the film where he went from just being a murdering thief to a slightly more sympathetic character as he is somewhat the victim of circumstance. As he said if you didn't want to die of grinding poverty there were only two ways out banditry or the priesthood and his choice was a much harder life.
I very rarely comment on RUclips videos but this...this is absolute genius. Tremendous work.
I second that....great editing, one of my favorite films. VERY WELL DONE!!

Absolutely mind-boggling how someone can find all these exact locations this long after those movies were made
FINDING THE SAME SPOTS AND VIEWING ANGLES AFTER 50+ YEARS?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE UNLESS YOU ARE A TIME TRAVELER!
IN THAT CASE, PLEASE TAKE ME WITH YOU!
Glad that Sad Hill Cemetery was restored, gonna run round it in 2023 with Ecstasy of Gold playing
This is so good I'll bet Clint Eastwood would enjoy it...........if he hasn't already!
Beautifully done. I can tell that this is a labor of love - you must have dedicated so much time finding the location, the exactly angle and position of the original shots.
Like most everyone here I loved this movie. Especially the music and the vocals. Ennio Morricone is lauded, as he should well be, but what makes this movie so memorable to me is the angelic voice of Edda Dell'Orso. I have never heard a more perfect voice than hers and could listen to her for hours. Ennio does get the credit for the fantastic musical score, but rarely does it get linked with Edda and her beautiful vocals in this movie and others. Edda, I thank you and salute you!
Yes, she is wonderful. Was she in the scores for all 3 movies? "Once Upon a Time," too?
I do like the recreations Morricone did with Susana Rigacci as Soprano. She really belts 'em out!
Clint turned 90 wow time really does fly, saw this movie more than any other by far, this movie is timeless, there will never be another cast likeClint, Tuco and Lee
One of my all time top 3 movies. I love that somebody even thought to do this. Very cool.
You've created something at par with the league of the movie. Thank you for making this.
This is one of the best movies ever made, and it was made on a very low budget. Such great storytelling is hard to find in modern cinema. This is a film many more generations will enjoy and appreciate.
This is the king of the spaghetti westerns .thanks for the look back
Saw this movie in 1968 when I was 18. Still love it. I have the DVD and the original vinyl sound track.
DEPRESSING THOUGHT: I truly - dread - the day Eastwood is gone, it will forever close the GOLDEN ERA we once never thought would end.
I think exactly the same friend...and now Ennio is gone....
So sad that, as far as I can tell, every tree that they tried to hang Tucco from no longer exists. Outstanding that you did this! Boggles the mind though at how much the landscape can change so much after 50 years.
Outstanding work! I love the way you blend the scenes together.
Two thumbs up! ;-)
Great music
ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATED WITH THEN AND NOW..SO MUCH HARD WORK WENT INTO THIS..WELL DONE, OR AS CLINT WOULD HAVE SAID....'BRAVO'
I watched this documentary today in 2021. Masterpiece boss. This is called an actual tribute to something you really love. Good job done amigo..
Fabulous stuff there Herve, this is RUclips at it's very best. The Spaghetti Westerns were unforgettable, the cast, plots, screenplay, and of course Ennio Morricone's scores are amongst the very best themes EVER. Ten out of ten from me for this video.
Brought tears to my eyes too. I just love it. You 're one of a kind.
Yusuf
This is beyond amazing and outstanding. Bless the 2 who did this work of art. Bravo!
Amazing.. it was looking through time from the film story period of the American Civil War 1861 to 1865; then to year 1966 of filming; and then 2011 for your video.
The best location hunter ever! This docu is awesome! You are amazing!! Sergio Leone lives!
:-D
herve is really good at his work, he must do a lot of research, well done son

I think everyone has said what I've wanted to say, what a movie and very well done hats off to you
This is with out doubt one of the coolest things I've seen on youtube. I loved this movie as a kid. I feel like hopping on a plane to Spain and running around the site of the cemetery while playing Ecstasy Of Gold through loud speakers. Thank you so much for doing this!
I feel exactly the same ❤❤
I love the transitions. Great ending too.
Very impressive and moving 👍🏻 thanks a lot for uploading it. ☺
RIP Lee van Cleef and Eli Wallach🕯 🕯
Absolutley incredible job, thank you so much for taking the time to do this...AMAZING!!
This, like your Once Upon a Time In the West video, and the others, is a work of art itself. It's about the temporal nature of all things, the bittersweetness of life. Everything changes, and all things will pass. Well done.
TGTB&TU is a timeless classic and Ennio Morricone's iconic music made the movie even more memorable. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you for the wonderful video. This is my favorite movie of all time. Having met Lee Van Cleef and spoken with him in my home town of Oxnard California makes this video all the more special. Thanks again.
A REAL labour of love!
Amigo, I salute you, this is brilliant!
Now, that's just plain unbelievable! It's fascinating to see how much some things change over time and how other things(like mountains) pretty much just stay the same. Great vision and well thought out. It's worth another look. I saw Eli Wallach in some t.v. movie a few years back. If it wasn't for his nose I wouldn't have recognized him. One of the great all time movies, of course.
You are a _ucking GENIUS !!!!!
Great Video !
Nope.
@@boomerrob9223 me too ... wow !
Not at all...
me too! this is sooo awesome! he even gave the names of the areas in which the scenes were shot
All of this takes me back to the first time I saw this movie at a drive-in in the 60's in Orlando Fl. Great, great job. That time in Orlando was pre-rat time and the movie will always be special for me. Mind altering musical score!
I watched this movie when I was 14 (today I am 53) and after the first time, I watched it again at least once a year, as if I missed watching this movie and it made me feel better, always. The best movie I watched, it has enormous sentimental value for me.
Thank you for your magnificent work on shooting this locations of this iconic film! and I think I know why I feel sad watching this, it takes me back to the days I first watched this film, and ask myself were did or how did all these years pass so quick? RUclips is the nearest thing to a time machine!
We humans are here for a while, the land is here forever.
the land also changes , but in millions of years. But yes, you are right
Not really
I think it was hardest to play too
Not even the land. It just stay there longer
Magnificent work... Unbelievable precision between the past and decades later.
Proud of you man.
Extremely done, an epic movie set during the most pivotal time in the USA. THANK YOU!!!
Mind blowing merging in the scenes with exact precision, definitely shows the earth is getting more greener than way back then
Maybe not the earth, but this region is, because of more rain due to the warmer Mediterranean sea.
Thanks for that...chilling the way things happened on a spot..and evaporate like nothing happened
Excelente!!
Gracias
I don't know how you do it or get the exact spots but you do an awesome job with these videos!!!!!
I just watched this on tv and it is still great as when I watched it over 40 years ago! Thank you for the video!
Wonderfully done. So awesome, yet kinda sad to see the change. Most of the sets are gone.
Marvellous, Superb, Beautiful, Impressive 👌
Absolutely tremendous! I don't know how you did it! Total genius and persistence! And in addition to everything else, the music! I've wondered about these locations all my life. THANKS! I will NEVER forget the experience of seeing this movie for the first time in 1968 -- between my two tours in the Vietnam War. It was the first spaghetti western I ever saw, and I had never heard of them prior to that. The movie was so hard to grasp for adults at that time I had to see it two more times before I could figure out what it was about. That's how our consciousness has changed since those days. Anyway, congratulations and thanks.
Super boulot les gars, j'en ai des frissons...
Love this.
Been a fan of the film for over 40 years and watched it many times. I always thought it was Sand Hill.
I don't know how you did this. It is amazing. Thanks
+Edward Brady BILL CARSON and ARCH STANTON said thanks.

Thank you so much for making this video, my eyes are full of tiers. most of the locations have changed a lot and buildings degraded, that's a shame for a so important masterpiece of film. I loved your ending of the "unknown tomb"... HERE. AWSOME.

Amazing. Time waits for no man. This was incredible.
Thanks great to see the set locations. Great job.
Magnifique comme d'habitude
Well done, finding all this locations. Interesting piece of work. Must say, I´m very impressed. This movie will always be remembered and seeing this places, used in the movie, makes me feel a little sentimental. Have always loved Clint Eastwood and he was perfect for the role as well as the others, but finding a better director than Sergio Leone, he was the real, true master.
Fantastic, thank you very much! This is the best movie ever
love the theme music to this film x
