Cracks me up how many people are complaining that you sewed this. When I guess they forgot the fact that there is such a thing as needle and thread and they could hand stitch it if they don't have a machine.

Sure. Quick and easy. All you need is a sewing machine!

You could do this with a needle and thread. just because she is a sewing machine doesn't mean you can't use a needle and thread.

My children have several pairs of shoes where the Velcro no longer sticks. This is just what I was looking for. I'm a newbie to sewing with my new machine. I was wondering if I need a special needle to sew the new Velcro onto the shoe?

I just used a regular needle, but depending on the material of the straps, I suggest you go slowly. If you are worried about the needle breaking you can get leather needles which have a slightly different shape designed to cut through leather easier.

My daughter has the exact same brand and model of shoes. I think their velcro isn't very good then for such an expensive and well known pair of shoes

Yes I was quite disappointed that they didn't last a whole year.

mypoppetblogs what name brand of velcro did you use? I bought some velcro and I followed your video step by step but the velcro didn't stick like in your video. My sons shoes are only two months four months old. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. It was just a generic brand from the local craft store. Which part of the tape were you replacing, It's usually the loop part that gets worn out.

Can the same be done for Velcro on Motorbike gloves?

Sure. It will work on any velcro straps.

Dislike for the sowing part. Is there anyway to just tape a replacement velcro strap?

You'd need to try a pretty strong adhesive. I have a sewing machine so it was most convenient for me.

Just needed to tie us over till we could get a new pair later in the week. I thought it would be useful for other viewers as often the fastening wears out but the shoes are still in good condition. Nothing wrong with repairing and making do where possible.

When you are on a budget and have growing kids, it makes more sense just to fix it until they grow out of it. It is also more environmentally friendly not just to toss shoes that have a simple fix.

You can also use a needle and thread to sew it by hand
