Outside Nicki Minaj’s problems within the music industry, hearing the court documents emphasizes on the kind of person that she is. It portrays the kind of heart that she has. It’s so shameful and sickening seeing how staunch she has been at supporting this criminal. The pain that that lady experienced was already too much, yet as if it wasn’t enough, NM comes into the picture to cause even more torment to her and her loved ones. What’s strange is that if it weren’t for her haphazard reaction to Megan’s song, so many people wouldn’t have known the full picture. And her reaction to that verse is evident that she is self-aware, she knows how pathetic it is to defend such people. I pray that Jennifer and her family get the justice that they deserve. I pray that the child who was abused by NM’s brother will experience a much better, safer and healthier life ahead. They did not deserve any of this.

The Barbz have tried to rewrite history as it pertains to Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, but as an elder millenial, I REMEMBER exactly how it happened. Young Money was the hottest shit out at the time. In fact, there hasn't been a rap "family" since then that compares. Lil Kim came from the Bad Boy Family era (Diddy, Biggie, Total, The Lox, Faith Evans, Lil Cease/Junior Mafia, Mase, Black Rob, G-dep, Carl Thomas etc). Rock-a-Fella, Murda Inc, Ruff Ryders, and Death Row Inc are all close contenders, but were still not quite as big as Bad Boy was in it's heyday...even after Biggie was killed).
Anyway, Kim was very vulnerable after her legal case as this video illustrates. Plus, Biggie was dead and she never quite recovered from that loss. Junior Mafia had disbanded. Kim went to jail trying to protect people who had betrayed her. Fans were making fun of her appearance as her facial sugeries kept making her more and more unrecognizable. She was older and just not as popular as she once was AND, to top it all off, her long-time industry friends, including people in radio, AND some of her fans abandoned her to be hypebeasts riding on the Young Money wave. She suffered the public humilation and a relentless smear campaign ALONE.
It was an exciting time for music because Young Money was a powerhouse that every artist wanted to be affliated with (Think Cardi B from 2017-2019). Young Money was the beginning of a new era....A new, younger school of rappers...and Kim simply did not have the industry support to withstand the relentless attempts to blackball her.
As someone who liked Lil Kim and liked Nicki Minaj, it was clear that Nicki was the winner. I think this is because Nicki had successfully inserted herself into the industry pricisely when Kim was at her most vulnerable.. Perfect timing for Nicki. Plus, Ncki was younger, hotter, lighterskinned and had one of the first BBL bodies we'd ever seen (it's normal NOW, but it was virtually unheared of at the time....Nicki started the BBL trend, not the Karashians btw...the Kardashians followed). Most importantly, Nicki had the backing of entire industry plus two of the hottest rappers of the time: Drake and Wayne. Kim had no backing. (Similar to how Nick seemingly has no backing now).
PLUS Nicki was very clearly jacking Kim's style down to the outfits, the wigs and the Barbie/Queen shit...and Kim was constantly being gaslit about this.
Everyone wanted Kim to "get over it" but she was so horribly disrespected by Nicki, her fans and people in the industry.
The Barbz who say Kim attacked Nicki are running with a narrative that is completely false. Nicki loves to play victim and she uses her toxic Barbz as flying monkeys in her narcissistic grandiosity. She wouldn't know humility if it slapped her in the face.
The fact that the exact same thing is happening to Nicki NOW is just poetic justice.
Personally, I believe there is some kind of "dethroning" that always happens to female artists. Britney "dethroned" Madonna. Mariah was supposed to dethrone Whitney, but, fourtunately, the two ended up being friends. Ariana was supposed to dethrone Mariah. Nicki dethroned Kim. Cardi was supposed to dethrone Nicki, but it didn't work (she's not as good of a rapper plus I think Offset threw her career off). Since it didn't work with Remy or Cardi, Megan is next in line... and considering Nicki is seemingly broke now and losing industry support, this might be really good timing for Megan. Everyone is tired of Nicki's antics.
Sidenote: I think Nicki may be a covert narcissist....but whether she is or isn't, I REALLY respect her tenacity. She is not going down without a fight.

There's something kind of icky to me about Nicki going out of her way to mention that Kenneth and Jennifer were around the same age when the alleged attack happened. I think a lot of people associate the sex offender registry with statutory rape and other sex crimes committed by adults against minors, and there's plenty of people who will hear that they were both kids at the time and shrug it off as exaggeration on Jennifer's part without doing more research. That may just be me, though.
