Ethan's stressful response to backlash was so hard to watch. Many people owe him a massive apology. If people wonder why victims young & old don't come forward - that's why. Because coming forward can be sometimes more traumatizing than the trauma itself.
I felt so fucking bad for him you tell he’s stressed and was scared he sounds like my little brother getting upset and I just wanna hug him and tell him I believe him and it’s ok and that it’ll be over and they’ll leave him alone. I just feel so bad for him, he’s a fucking kid a little kid bruh.
Your end monologue moved me to tears. I am a 21 year old man who was subjected to grooming and repeated statutory r*pe from ages 14-18 by girls aged 21-24 who I thought were my best friends. When i finally realized how wrong this was, when I told anyone i was met with "Oh damn, lucky" and things such as that. I felt like I was overreacting. I was sexually assaulted by a police officer in rural Louisiana after being bailed out of jail for a misdemeanor and there was no way for anyone to take me seriously, so I stayed quiet. The next year I would get sexually assaulted at gun point for 12 hours straight. I have never been able to look at myself the same way, to be affectionate with anyone else, yet every time I try to disclose this, no one believes how badly I was hurt physically and mentally. I quickly started to think that these reoccuring incidents have to be my fault, that I'm doing something to "ask" for this. I gave up on trying to talk about this to anyone and struggle to this day to sleep in my own apartment and room where this took place. I feel so, so heart wrenchingly strong for Ethan's story. I shake as I type this out honestly, no one has ever made me feel like my experience was valid and my pain and grief is valid. It's too true that when you are a boy especially if the abuser is a woman, its laughed at or I'm accused of making things up. Thank you so much Paige for your passion and emotion in bringing this fact to light, saying it how it really is. The only people who have ever sympathized with me and listened to my story have been women. I have been laughed at by nearly every man I have tried to speak about this to... And they don't seem to realize that could have been them, that could have been their son. Anyone who took the time to read this I am sorry for the bluntness and description and thank you for giving me a space to get some of this pain off my back.

This was extremely heartbreaking to read. I cannot express how much it hurts to read about people treating you this way and invalidating your very real experiences. But hear me out. It is NOT YOUR FAULT okay? You did not ask for it! The reason why it might keep happening... (please only read if this isn't triggering, I know it's a touchy subject)
...is because predators are very good at detecting people who've had previous trauma and will choose them deliberately. I know that this sounds awful and scary but it's there's studies on it, showing that previous victims keep having these experiences. This really motivated me to work on myself, go to therapy and to validate myself, even if no one else does. Because I'm done being the prey. It takes hell of an effort to heal but it is possible and I send you all the strength in the world to conquer that journey. Please stay strong.

When i was young 14 through 16 I was inapropriatly touched by my neighbor who was an old man. I started seeking that man when my family was asleep. I got in sexual situations thinking the fuck i knew what i was doing. This man was taking advantage of me, my curiosity and my willingness. It was all wrong. My inocence was took away. Once my mother asked me and I denied it all. I was ashamed and scared. What Ethan did was very Brave and he had the guts to do what I never did. Now im 34 years old, my neighbor is dead and i dont know how many other people or kids he hurted. It all now goes to the tomb with me, i as an adult havent done justice to my inner child. I have neglected myself.
Ethan I hope you have or had the help you need and even tho nobody believed you, you did justice to yourself. Down the road when you are a 34 year old like myself youll have the inner peace to know you protected yourself.

I've had a somewhat similar experience with my step father from ages 3-8, and it is so, so painful, knowing that others could be hurt because they got away with it.

He slips into DMs, dazzles them with his status, and preys on them by sending sexual messages and photos. That in and of itself is predatory behavior and it needs to stop.

Like to me having it happened once should have you double, triple quadruple checking ages. I'm mad because I remember how dismissive of Ethans accusations of James charles Dustin Dailey, Nick Snyder and RichLuxx were. They were like "James Charles would never do something so stupid", I believed Ethan from the beginning because James had been telling us for years he loves a challenge and straight boys. He loves having the power imbalance in his favor so he can control or manipulate someone else, in this case a child. He prefers his victims to be straight, very young and broke so that he can have total control over them

James Charles is 100% an adult male with a predilection for teenage boys.
He was when he got cancelled and several years on he STILL likes the same age range, and he likes them to ‘look young’‼️‼️
What that tells me is that he has a PROBLEM with being attracted to young males that isn’t getting better…now he JUST WANTS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE 18??
He wanted them barely(if at all) legal when he got cancelled, he’s now older and still wants the same??
As a 52 yr old mum this is concerning behaviour and something he should have addressed with a therapist when he realised it was happening, but no because he doesn’t think it’s wrong, or when he got cancelled perhaps, but again I guess no real therapy because he’s still doing it to kids that are barely, if at all legal.
At this point I think he needs to be held criminally responsible and given in house therapy in jail because I think that just because someone is young, it doesn’t mean they can’t be an adult interested in sex with minors and the younger looking the better!
It’s no better than a 30 or 40 yr old man with these impulses. James Charles is in his mid-20’s and what he ‘likes’ is illegal for a reason and it’s not less illegal because he’s still relatively young.
James Charles has given the world enough scary evidence that adult males interested in minors are not all stereotypical ‘gross basement dwelling types’ but can also be ‘that polite young man in the house on the corner’ or even ‘that young dad living over there with his wife’.
Predators sadly do not come with ‘danger’ tattooed on their foreheads, they come in all ages and types, but if they keep being interested in flirting with that ‘legal age’ line even as they age then THAT is a problem!

My blood boiled when she was like “They lied about their age!” okay so then that makes all of the inappropriately sent nudes and EXTREMELY pushy messages where James is constantly bulldozing over Ethan (and all his other victims) boundaries?? NO!! Not in any universe has it ever been okay to not respect someone’s boundaries and just spam them with nudes no matter if you’ve only been DMing an hour or 20 years, it’s a breech of trust and respect. Now throw on top that Ethan was only 14 in 10th grade (okay so for everyone who still can’t see this is wrong 14 is only two years older than 12 and that is only two years from being 10 so bite me) this is a literal crime that James could face 20 years in jail for!!!

@@Raya-ir4tm I'm pretty sure that was just her final straw in realizing maybe he wasn't so great of a person. and even if that wasn't her final straw and she really didn't care about the previous grievances she mentioned, ie being inappropriate with minors & straight men, the takeaway still should NOT have been "she's mad about vitamins," like it was. her initial points have credit to them regardless of her reasons for sharing them.
People's reducing that video down to her being mad about vitamins was what saved James from truly being "cancelled." spewing that narrative allowed him to keep his career.

Wow, so when I heard that a kid “James Charles” at the same school my son went to was signing with cover girl, I mentioned it, back then at a party with the kids. I thought it was cool. Until all those boys started talking about who he really was. He had catfished so many boys on sports teams. Think about how traumatic some of those cat fishing stories are…. It’s now hard to believe that he has become this person on the internet with his predatory ways, that he continues, it makes me sick. Couldn’t agree more with everything you said… and James is documented as getting very aggressive and intimidating whenever there is pushback. It makes perfect sense that Ethan would be terrified, it would be terrifying to a 40 year old with a 401k to be essentially extorted by someone with millions (fans and dollars)… I can’t imagine the terror and trauma that would inflict on a minor! There was another situation where escalating threats were documented, I think his name was Ricky Murda (sp might be wrong) but it was infuriating that that case didn’t get broader coverage too bc it really showed the mob boss tactics James was using to get compliance when his requests were refused. It is terrifying how much he abuses his power, even that lawsuit with the former employee, and someone like that shouldn’t be rewarded by the public. I can’t understand how he still has fans and a platform. He is a dangerous individual. I hope Ethan takes comfort in the fact that he did make many minors less vulnerable by coming forward- what he did was incredibly courageous. The idea that victims come forward for “clout” is absurd. I’m so tired of hearing about Charles… but I will watch, like, and engage with every video reminding/warning the public about who he is because it is incredibly serious the harm he has caused already… and he’s only 24!

I’ll find the video and reply with the link if I can but the TLDR is: his first editor/producer was working around the clock to get his videos out, provide video ideas etc… was promised great financial rewards if/when that he never followed through with, suffered a major head injury on one of his shoots which required her to go to hospital, and then when that concussion precluded her from returning at the pace of work she had been at prior… she was unceremoniously ‘let go’ just a couple of weeks after the incident. Oh, and she had to shave his butt, among other things… it’s wild! It was very much an exploitative dynamic where they were ‘friends’ when it suited him, but he was the boss when it didn’t. Very similar to how Colleen got Adam and Johnny to provide free labor based on promises and feigning a genuine friendship. Yes, I agree- he definitely has an MO, it’s a pattern. Never forget what happened to Ethan. This is such an amazing video Paige, my emotions feel wrung out to dry. When you are a kid going through a hard time, you keep it to yourself out of fear and shame and confusion. Sometimes no one ever gets to know. The article couldn't be more of a slap in the face to victims if they'd named it '14 kids and counting.' Was 2020 the year of the predator?
