@@theadventuresofkrisandwen saw them on the mainland several times in the 70s and 80s. Had a chance to meet Mackey and Malani on separate occasions 🤙👍
I am glad they are still keeping Kalapana alive. Still my favorite band of all time!
Their music is timeless! Thank you for your comment. Glad you enjoyed it!
😢 R.I.P.
Gotta give props to Hall & Oats who actually wrote “When The Morning Comes”.. but Kalapana did it better
I grew up listening to these guys 😎🤙🌺.
Awesome! Their music is timeless!
I lived in Waianae when they came out.
High school for me. Graduated in the Waikiki Shell. ❤ Aloha from Michigan. Miss it every day.

Isn’t the first song Moon and Stars??
Yes it is! I must've mistitled it! 🤦♀️ Good catch! I fixed it. Thank you!
Kalapana all DIED. This aint them
@@Jazzfestn you're right. Malani, Mackey as well as DJ passed away. However they still have a very large following and the band performs using their video likeness incorporated with live singers who try to sound like them. I assume that it's with their families' blessings or they technically wouldn't be allowed to use their likeness in these live performances. It's still great, timeless music and yes, part of the songs that feature their likeness includes audio of them singing in previous concerts. So it is technically them. Nevertheless, I do understand your point.
Kirk Thompson is still alive, though.
@@theadventuresofkrisandwen Their music stil lives on...my kids, nephews, nieces...enjoy!
Yes their music is timeless!! How wonderful that multiple generations can enjoy their music! 🫶🤙🏼
