  • Hey ASightToSee'ers! Today, I did a bit of exploring around Fiesch by just clicking on the first thing I saw on a map! It was a lot of fun!

Your videos are so much fun to watch!
    My favorite line in this:
“If you have absolutely no idea where you’re going, you’re doing it right”!
    That is so true!

This meat you bought is actually gammon, raw ham hanged in the smoke for a very long time. Here in CH it`s quite popular.
The redwhite roadsign at the barrier means that you are only allowed to go there by foot. No car, no bikes, no horses.
The reason why the water of the rivers in the mountains are such light blue is because most of the water is directly coming from the glacier, somewhere further up the mountain. The one you saw from the bridge actually comes straight out of central Europe biggest glacier, the "Aletschgletscher".
If you not already found out by yourself, you can actually drink any water everywhere in Switzerland. At every fountain, even if its in the middle of nowhere. By law the fountains, which are not drinking water, have to be labeled, "Kein Trinkwasser". You can also drink water directly from the rivers, it`s almost never a problem, except for the big lakes and rivers, like Limmat or lake Zurich. But you should prefer fountains.
Will you come to the east of Switzerland after your stay in Zermatt? Like Graubünden, Glarus or St. Gallen?

Thank you so much for all the information! Ah that makes sense about the ham. I've never had it raw and wasnt expecting it lol glad i now know about the road signs! The water from the fountains in the street is the best ive ever had. I fill up there every chance i get, but i was unsure about rivers and such. Unfortunately my only stop after Zermatt left is Lucerne as I have spent so much money being here for almost a whole month but I will definitely be back one day to explore the rest! I find it funny how i oringally only had 1.5 weeks scheduled for Switzerland but i just couldnt leave!

Buy a good map and leave the phone at home.

Though I very much enjoy my time with my phone down, it is still a convenient tool to have when traveling alone in foreign countries for the first time 😊
