    I see Roger posts a video; I watch video! 👍🏻
    Always great information. I love that extendable ratchet. Gotta get me one of those.
    Seeing the N20 like you’re showing it here is so much better than 2D diagrams in a service manual.
    Thanks for posting, Roger! Can’t wait for your upcoming vids.
    Family ok?

      Thanks Mario! The EZ red brand extendible ratchets are awesome. My family is well thank you! Just took my son snowboarding and we loved it! I hope you and your family are well also!

    Nice neat video, well done 👍🏽. Always thought the wastegate rattle was strictly an n54/55 thing.

      Thanks Stephen! N20 and N26 can rattle too :) Turbos often fail around the 100K to 130K mark.

    Very useful video! I have a bad knock sensor and I thought it was on the exhaust side, but now thanks to your video I realized it's on the intake side.
    Do you think I can swap it from above? Or it has to be done from under the car?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  Год назад +1

      I think the best way is to pull the intake back to access them.

    Great video and very insightful. Can’t be fooled how compact the motor is until you need to change gaskets and it’s a full day job. Great motor so far 126k on mine. I’ve upgraded the intake to an AFE and Raceworks ignition coils which have been amazing. These motors burn through plugs and coils quicker than we would like. I am testing and believe these raceowrks coils change that. It’s been very reliable so far. Hoping for 200k without any major issues. -2015 328i xdrive

      Hello, Thanks for commenting! BMW does a good job cramming everything in 😆! They are reliable when taken care of. I see so many engines with heavy gunk from improper oil intervals. I hope you make 200k plus!

    Hey, I have a n20 that has code P052b and P13c0 I have replaced vanos silanoid and caps but I keep getting same code. Is there something else I can look at? Besides the camshaft position sensor?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  2 года назад

      Hello, There is a couple things to check. First would be to make sure the center insert is not missing in the oil filter. If this is missing you can get vanos codes. Make sure your filter is not collapsing. The next step would be to check timing and the timing chain and the vanos adjusters with the valve cover off.

      Any idea how to adjust the wastegate rod. Mine is curved at the end( the side towards the front of the engine) I've seen videos were you loosen the nut and take some slack out of the rod but mine is curved and it doesn't look like it will turn, or will it? Also the nut is in the middle..not at the end.

      On your BMW The fuel pump relay is called and EKPS and is a module that controls the fuel output. I can help further if you can provide the last seven of the VIN. Also, if you JOIN my youtube channel as a member for a very small cost per month, I work one on one with people and can provide guidance and wiring diagrams to help you better.

    VANOS, outlet: control error, position not reached

    Does anyone know what I should look at first?

      The VANOS issue should be looked at first. The boost pressure is often consequential of another fault.

    I have code for camshaft position sensor and swap amd replaced both. Actually made it worse do i put the original ones back on so starts but sputters then shuts off. I also replaced the vvt solenoid. Any tips? Heard it may fue to oil filter cap.

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  Год назад

      Hi Rocky, Vanos codes are usually the oil cap inser missing. Cam sensor codes are not common but could be the cams are not spinning, timing is off, wiring is bad, or engine control unit faulty. Scoping the signal and checking the pick up rings and cams timing would be recommended.

      Hi Rocky, The Vanos units are under the valve cover attached to the fron of the camshafts

    Where vanos solenoid located at? I got p0015?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  Год назад

      The actuators are the small black units that attach to the head. The solenoids are the central bolts that hold the VANOS unit in place.
