    Isnt standing for the reading of Gods word "legalism"?

      Says who? Is it a legalistic mindset that causes one to stand in respect when the king addresses his people? Respect and tradition are not legalistic unless one is using them to bind the conscience in terms of salvation or blessing.

      @lukelemberg
      It's a man-made burden... even the disciples sat around when Jesus actually spoke.
      It seems to me like standing isn't reverent enough....you should all bow down before the king right?

      @@MandMe91 Burden? In what way? No one has said that the only way to respect the reading of the Bible is to stand. It is A way. There is no burden set upon anyone during the reading. It is one way chosen. Do you think we should respect the reading of the Word of God or just treat it like any other thing? Principle and practice are two separate conversations.

      @lukelemberg
      People only stand because the pastor says to...that's a burden.
      It's disrespectful not to bow before the king...you should bow for the reading of God's word.

      @@MandMe91 you didn’t answer my question but that’s ok for now. Why is it that you call standing legalism and are now saying I have to do more? Is standing not really legalistic enough for you? What if we bow at a different time and not here? Is that a burden because the pastor said to? Don’t call something legalistic and then say do more like a legalist.
