I'm reminded of the scene in Breaking Bad when Lydia ordered her guys to gun down an entire cartel crew, while she was hiding in a bunker, and then made one of her guys guide her out while she covered her eyes so she didn't have to see the result of her orders. Anyone who buys animal products, and then walks out of this movie because they can't handle what they're watching, is just like Lydia.
There are many reasons why I decided to go vegan last year. The number one reason that made this happen came about right after watching this documentary in FULL. It took me 3 days to finish it, it was extremely hard, but I knew I must watch it in full. I'm the type of person that seeks truth in everything, and no matter how sad, cruel something is, I'd rather know the TRUTH than live a life full of deceit and lies. Especially when those lies affect my life and well-being. I hope all humans watch this in full and wake up from the matrix.
I only watched 15 minutes of it with long pauses and I went vegan over night, believe me I forced myself to watch it because I knew what the movie was about and it broke me completely. I got into a depression after that for six month, I had suicidal thoughts I just didn’t want to live in this sick world anymore. And one year later I still remember those images of this innocent souls being tortured and made the decision of getting into activism because only being vegan wasn’t enough
@ratilantgull602 We do not cosume animal products because their production is incredibly cruel to both human workers and non-human animals, destroys the planet, causes famine and mass extinction and leads to an increased cancer risk (at least in the case of red and processed meat). If you like the taste of animal products then there are lots of healthier vegan alternatives and if health concerns are holding you back, a vegan diet has all the nutrients you need and vitamins like b12 are in fortified foods and supplement as is the case for calcium and every other mineral (which also naturally occur in plants).
How successful are these group screenings? especially at a university, you would think that these people are bright and curious enough to want to know the truth. Well done, bravo!
Vegan Marc that film is not truthful at all, I’ve seen people shear sheep before and it’s nothing like they showed! We are very careful with sheep because even they can take the lives of humans. I know a vegan that says that the film is completely false, which they are true in saying.
@Raunak Anwar Most Humans are kind in nature and they are innocent beings just wanting to live, it would only make sense for survival to kill. Or we could just not breed them in the billions too.
I went vegan a few days before watching this. I did a search for just any old documentary to watch with the waifu and decided on watching Dominion. We didn't have any idea what to expect. I started off being vegan as more of a health experiment. I can confidently say now I am militantly vegan. Never again.
@Aussievegan Vids bit of a rant on my part sorry... However, shits changing man. All the shit that old plants used to get away with is being fazed out in favor of cleaner, more humane methods of slaughter and rearing. The footage taken in the clips from Australia (some are from the US and Chinese owned plants) are from the RSPCA and activist groups gathering evidence to have the plants shut down and the owners charged with animal abuse. So no ham there when they're using clips that have been used to stop these inhumane practices. Pig farms are fucked. If you can stand the smell go to one as a registered visitor to see what's up. Tails are cut off, as pigs are attracted to movement (they're a predatory animal in the wild) and tend to bite other pigs tails off and then keep going; often eating most of the other pigs flanks with others joining in. Mothers quite often eat their own young and trample, squash them even in free range plots. I'd recommend going to KR in Castlemain VIC to see how the gas ferry works. They use carbon monoxide to make the animals pass out and the they die of exposure. Much the same way as someone closing off their garage and starting the car. Slow exposure is best, but expensive. Every hour extra spend per unit of livestock is an hour more you have to pay hundreds of workers (it adds up pretty quick). I don't agree with halal slaughter, it's just prolonging what needs to happen, bolt guns are best, and quick. People need to be properly trained to use them. Also most of the waste that isn't safe for human consumption is graded to either be turned into pet food, rendered into tallow or used to make plant fertilisers, minerals and composts. Everything is used, even the organs. The film also rips apart the most humane methods of slaughter also. So essentially people who eat meat aren't entitled to do so under any circumstances because even under the most humane methods it's still inhumane? It also doesn't consider that many of the plant workers are from very low socio economic backgrounds or are low skilled workers, and as such they don't really care because to them it's a monotonous job that keeps a roof over their families heads and food in their bellies. Some people (from what I've seen) are there because it's one of the few jobs they can get after leaving the prison system. You shut down all the plants, where do the workers go for work? They can't just get up and go and work as accountants, many don't have a formal education past year 10 or 11. Furthermore, if we do what the vegans want, what's to stop the farmers and plants euthanising entire herds of livestock, as they'll become a useless commodity, also that costs a fortune to maintain? How would Australia replace that vital sector of it's exports? Considering it is the 2nd biggest primary industry next to mining? I agree that things need to change, and they are. Higher standards of care = higher quality of livestock/produce (stressed cows make for sour milk). It also sells for a higher price. However, expecting this to occur overnight is a ridiculous sentiment. It's the same with climate change. Change takes time, money and lots of resources. However, guilting people into changing their diets using extreme imagery is pretty militant also, on par with the NAZI parties brainwashing propaganda against the "undesirables". IMO just let people eat what they want, a balanced diet is best. Its fine to let people know how their food is produced but don't go ramming it down people's throats.
I watched this recently because Tash Peterson had been in the news recently. It is a tough watch - watched it in about 8 sittings over a week. Have always been into fitness and dieting - looked at vegan diet, after I had been doing keto, just out of curiosity: to see if it was viable for endurance training. Noticed about a 20% loss in energy - went back to omnivore, for a bit. Around this time, about 2 years ago, I watched Earthlings - stopped eating meat. Slowly but surely removed as much animal products from my life - clothing and diet. Removing dairy, is my last frontier - mainly because with work and eating out, in some locations, there are limited choices. Watching dominion gave me that little push to be more earnest with eating out, and just abstaining when I can't find options. This has all happened over a few years, not overnight. I like this approach: inviting people, in a non-invasive way, to open their minds and broaden their horizons.
people DESERVE to be fully invaded but yeah, it's doesn't work, since it's not our place. Nature will do it when and if She decides it to be appropriate
@@thedoreman8537 How is it bullshit? People like to object to it by saying "it's only showing the very worst sides of the industry," which may be true in some areas but most the practices they showed such as gassing pigs and macerating baby chicks are not only 100% legal, but commonplace within the factory farm industry.
I'm Vegetarian nearly two years now (i got veggie when i was 13, bc i wanted it) and I'm working my way to be vegan. I will turn fully vegan at the latest when i move out. The hardest will probably be cheese, but i will get this. I got the mental strength to turn vegetarian at 13 so i will have the strength to turn vegan.
Vegan cheeses are not what they used to be, new ways of making them and innovations in vegan cooking is making veganism more and more accessible to everybody, even if you enjoy cheeseburgers.
I was also vegetarian for decades before I decided to go vegan last year. I also thought the cheese would be the hardest part (used to eat cheese everyday!) But believe me when I say once I went Vegan, I've never thought of cheese again! Don't even feel the need or desire to buy "vegan cheese" it's like your whole taste buds change after becoming Vegan. Caring about your health and cardiovascular system, wanting to exercise etc, it all came about after my veganism started!

I've always been very conflicted, I have an eating disorder that I've struggled with my whole life, and because of it my menu is extremely limited, including only meat almost. I have so much love for the vegan movement but my mind is stronger than my body, I cannot for the life of me break away from my condition and I hate the guilt that comes along with it. Much respect for this film and the people behind it.
Please don't feel guilty. Healthy survival will always have to be a person's and organism's first priority. Your mindset is already such a good contribution
If it was not vegan it was probably done to showcase cognitive dissonance, eating cheese after watching the film that like 2/3 - 3/4 of the audience could not finish in its entirety. Talking about the film with pizza in hand. I'm wondering if that was the case, because the video made a specific point to mention it, otherwise who would care about what they ate, specifically? Cheese is less obvious than cheeseburgers, they would have flat out refused that, especially since they're on camera and duh it's beef right there on a plate. But then again, that means that non-vegan pizza was purchased to make the point, so... not sure.
I somehow stumbled upon this after watching another video.... I have been a vegan on and off most my life. (Parents were hippies... I was raised this way.) In the past century (late 80's -90's ) I went back and forth a lot as a young adult and was a BIT of a carnivore (Yuck had eggs and chicken :-(( ) but more of a pescetarian. ) in this century nothing tasted like it did when I was younger. This is why I stopped forever. I always knew about the abuse and could not understand as it was unconscionable to me to eat them in the first place.... It's interesting because it's finally becoming a "trend" to be Vegan. It's a good sign that people are starting to really research what is going on and how eating todays GMO filled "food" is causing cancer and it's all by design!! RESEARCH! Wake up all. *Most importantly Why eat other life force beings? They aren't "human" but they are living beings!* ( Ok so are plants but this is quit another convo! ) BRAVO to you for this documentary! I'm watching this tonight. Namaste' from Steph in the USA :-)
I've been 95% vegan, 5% vegetarian for 30+years. Still the main problem is the fact that alternatives to milk, cream, eggs, cheese, chocolate and ice-cream are not offered in 99.9% of cafe's, bars etc and supermarkets and their suppliers STILL wilfully refuse to reduce vegan prices and vastly increase vegan choices anywhere close to the point of parity with the vast array of non-vegan meat, cheese, dairy and poultry offerings. And if you're addicted to every kind of chocolate and ice-cream it's a permanent problem.. Obviously affluent/wealthy/rich movie stars etc can just pick up their phones in California/New York/London and get the best vegan version of anything they want more or less 24/7... Paul G
brilliant introduction to the movie. i have not seen it myself yet, bc i am saving myself up in order to watch it together with my better half as soon as we have the opportunity and the time is right. i am going to play this video before watching the movie as a direct introduction. btw we both already have been vegan for a few years now, me moreso and with no exceptions than her and she sometimes accepts cheese when her mother offers her such, coming from a certain town abroad where they used to spend time together when she was a child. it's a pinch and i understand that her mother's intentions come from a good place. i am really looking forward to seeing the movie and i hope to get everyone involved in facing the uncomfortable truth and inspire personal growth.
Weak people to be honest, I was moreso shocked by the amount of violence that was able to be shown on youtube. I got accustomed to it quickly and looked it straight in the eye. Of course that doesn't mean it had no emotional impact. I became a vegetarian thanks to Dominion.
I just viewed Dominion on RUclips a few days ago. It was very heartbreaking and hard to watch but I felt I had to see the unvarnished truth. I'm vegetarian, not vegan although I have cut back on some dairy. Will try to make an earnest attempt to substitute more things like vegan cheese.
Why is the instinct of people to become vegans and not find alternative ways and stamps of approval for meat consumption instead of current factory farming practices? You're not helping the rest of us or thinking long term about these animals domesticated for no other purpose.
Most narrow minded people here who are commenting on vegans, are not aware, not awake of that humans are born, made as herbivores, not carnivores, including our indigestion system is not made for that, not made for consuming dairy products.Through evolution, people added animal foods, dairy into the diet, lifestyle. There's nothing as so stupid of those who are claiming that veganism is propagenda,as mentioned, humans are not made, not created as carnivores but as carnivores. For those who are claiming that plants are having feelings, the question is,do plants are heaving vital organs,do plants have blood running throught the bloodstream/vains,do plants are having a heartbeating heart? As a long time most of my life being a proud vegan, being a vegan is, and feels as a blessing honestly. We vegans are at the same time contributing, helping the planet, earth because the meat, dairy industry is consuming more water, while it's being said there's a water shortage.Shame on those who are that selfish, ignorant being indoctrinated, brainwashed by the lying school system of claiming that animal foods is needed,it's all a lie.As the lying media, and the rest is lying about this whole planned plandemic too, including the jabs.
I get you. So many comments from little boys trying to sound edgy and "tough" saying they don't care about animals suffering. I hope for their sake that in their next life they're not cows or chickens. Life is a learning experience and nearly half of the worlds population believe that what we do in this life affects who we will be in the next. The same little lads being so "hard" here won't be laughing as they're led into an abattoir.
Humans are not herbivores, you can't wish science away. The absorption rate for essential amino acids is incredibly low in plant sources. That means that unlike today where the blessed few can supplement large amounts to compensate, humans in other countries and the ancient past would be deficient and have very weak musculoskeletal systems. ALA the plant source of Omega3 is also inferior to EPA and DHA found in fish. We were designed by evolution to eat meat and fish. Whether or not you choose to compensate and not do that is a whole different thing.
I've never attempted a vegetarian lifestyle, let alone vegan. I was vaguely aware of the horrors behind the meat/dairy/husbandry industries, I have seen different documentaries (the one about the ecological damage of the industries that Leonardo DiCaprio was a producer for is an excellent one, I forget it's name sadly), and I've been a firm animal lover, and happy to support animal rights advocacy whenever possible... But this documentary, it was just too much. I can't even look at another piece of meat without feeling remorse, guilt, and shame. I really need to change my life. I don't care if all I eat is rice and water for the rest of my life, I can't be complicit in daily genocidal atrocities that we're all ignoring because it's easier. My rationalization for being complicit until now has just been: "we've all got our baggage and struggles, who has the time to go out of their way to change their diet so drastically? And besides, meat is so convenient and cheap, if there was a dollar menu for vegetarian options, I'd probably just do that." Well... It's worth it to put in the effort and go out of your way to eat something that isn't a product of suffering. It's a different kind of selfish that's fueling my thinking now. I don't want to put my soul through this, because I know better. It's just wrong, and I can't allow myself to be a part of it.
If you care about animal cruelty and don’t want to destroy the planet, but the idea of going vegan seems way too difficult (it did to me once as well). Here’s tips for making it easy ruclips.net/video/YmFO5BHO4YE/видео.html
This comment worried me cause 6 seems too young to be exposed to such brutal violence, but then I remembered when I was even younger than that my family would slit the throat of a lamb in front of me annually (religion). So good job 👍
Whenever I eat meat, I try not to think abt it so much bc meat is SOOOOO good. Dairy and stuff tho could be made without harm to animals at a smaller farm privately owned or smth.
It is sad. A lot of people actually don’t know where their meat comes from thanks to propaganda from the meat and dairy industry convincing consumers it’s ethical and necessary. There are children’s books you can buy about farming that will straight up lie about the process and invent science fiction machines that do the work in a non violent way. There are several lies about animal behaviour that are spread as fact as well. Such as chickens shouldn’t eat their eggs (even though it’s their automatic periods that takes a lot of nutrient to produce and they do it in the wild), or cows need humans to milk them (even though a human fisted them to impregnate that cow for the milk, and if the baby cow hadn’t been killed for veal the mother would be fine cause that’s who should be drinking her milk) It’s a fucked world. Even when someone who needs to see these videos does, they usually lie to themselves about how it makes them feel to prevent being wrong about something.
I'm not a vegan, but anyone with common sense can understand and agree that animal abuse is wrong. However not all farmers are "monsters", there are several local farmers that raise their animals with love and respect.
no such thing as humane killing just as there is no such thing as humane rape. The animal doesn't want to die, even if they lived a pleasant life which 99.999999% don't it doesn't make it moral.
in my opinion that is just as bad. The farmers care for the animals as if they were their children and then murder them. How is that in any way morally good?
I haven’t seen this film yet but I would assume it only shows the worst capabilities people can do to animals. Obviously not everyone treats their animals like this
As a vegan I also find animal cruelty to be kind of boring. Also, there are much more disturbing videos that you can find online than what is shown in Dominion. Philosophical/ethical arguments I find much more convincing. But that's just me.
Meat eaters often say they could never give up the delicious taste of meat, milk and cheese. They are deceiving themselves. Taste is acquired, not given at birth. When I turned vegan, plant-based foods tasted odd to me, but I got used to them and now I enjoy them. Now, when I accidentally taste cow's milk or cheese, or smell beef, I feel disgusted by it. It actually tastes and smells horrible.
In the end, it's all about money. You could treat animals very differently and massively reduce their pain, but that would cost a lot more, and people want to pay cheap. Humans suffer a lot just because of greed; why don't you talk about that? All poor people in poor countries are living in hell because of greed. Humans suffering>Animals suffering.
These people are weak. I ate a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg on top while my sister made me watch this dumbass movie. Made me crave some chicken nuggets not gonna lie.
The sad part about it is, that people have the mind set about not caring, which still to this day happens in wars too. People don't care enough, thats why the US can still go around killing innocent people in other countrys and we see the same stuff happing with Russia now too. It's an indirect view into the minds and the mentalitly of most of the people on this planet. Lets care and lets save the lives of many animals and even humans. Give people the right mind set, and make them start to care about the horrifying stuff going on, at this very moment. Just a small decision to change, can save an whole lifespan of a living creature of any kind.
You know I agree that it’s inhumane but the biggest reason I don’t agree with vegans is that they respect the lives of animals more than that of humans. The guy really said that this is the worst problem in the world. Really? Worse than human trafficking, child abuse, racism, discrimination, mass murder, and a hundred other problems that plague the human race? Their morals are not aligned with what they should be, and they would put a fish’s life in front of another mans
we don't respect the lives of animals more than humans. we believe they are equal. we already have almost more than half of the world who don't do such things and it is already illegal in the eyes of law. but killing animals and eating them? less than half of the world is talking about animal rights and it isn't even termed illegal to kill them. so definitely we are going to focus on the latter issue right? bcoz it's worse than the former ones.
@@AM-tb4fn Animals are not equal to humans. They don't have same kind of self awareness than humans, they don't have as much emotions and they don't understand things the same way. Animals are animals, they are not humans. And don't you dare to bring holocaust or other historic events to this, it is not the same when we talk about animals. Humans are omnivores and eating meat is natural to us. Just like any other carnivore or omnivore eats meat and doesn't feel bad about it, so it should be with humans.

@@vincomic7519 Veganism isn’t about the environment, it’s about sentient beings.
I love meat I love milk and cheese idk why y’all don’t eat it
@ratilantgull602 We do not cosume animal products because their production is incredibly cruel to both human workers and non-human animals, destroys the planet, causes famine and mass extinction and leads to an increased cancer risk (at least in the case of red and processed meat).
@Raunak Anwar You are too lazy to research where your food comes from! You are a heartless one!
@Raunak Anwar Thanks, so how do you humanely kill an animal?
Raunak Anwar they have been murdered / slaughtered/ killed. How is that a “win” for them”
@Raunak Anwar Most Humans are kind in nature and they are innocent beings just wanting to live, it would only make sense for survival to kill. Or we could just not breed them in the billions too.
I went vegan a few days before watching this. I did a search for just any old documentary to watch with the waifu and decided on watching Dominion. We didn't have any idea what to expect. @@tudor_trader Okay and your point is?
Tudor Conciu weirdo... not really something to brag about
Tudor Conciu I feel so sorry for you. And everyone who cares for you. 😔
This needs to happen everywhere
I like this approach: inviting people, in a non-invasive way, to open their minds and broaden their horizons.
people DESERVE to be fully invaded

and if She decides it to be appropriate

If it was not vegan it was probably done to showcase cognitive dissonance, eating cheese after watching the film that like 2/3 - 3/4 of the audience could not finish in its entirety. Talking about the film with pizza in hand. I'm wondering if that was the case, because the video made a specific point to mention it, otherwise who would care about what they ate, specifically? Cheese is less obvious than cheeseburgers, they would have flat out refused that, especially since they're on camera and duh it's beef right there on a plate. But then again, that means that non-vegan pizza was purchased to make the point, so... not sure.
I was wondering that myself. Who could even eat after watching that?
Comer carne es malo.
The pizza was vegan tho right??
Do you have legit scientific evidence that humans are herbivores?
It's just wrong, and I can't allow myself to be a part of it.
bro that film was fire bro

Whenever I eat meat, I try not to think abt it so much bc meat is SOOOOO good. Dairy and stuff tho could be made without harm to animals at a smaller farm privately owned or smth.
Wow, there were a LOT less people by the end. 😐
The reward for watching this was to eat food! Really?
Why do people think dominion is sad I mean we already know the truth
Even when someone who needs to see these videos does, they usually lie to themselves about how it makes them feel to prevent being wrong about something.
i felt nothing watching this maybe somethings wrong with me

I'm not a vegan, but anyone with common sense can understand and agree that animal abuse is wrong. However not all farmers are "monsters", there are several local farmers that raise their animals with love and respect.
You know that most "local" animals are slaughtered in the Same slaughterhouse do you?
@@onemeterboy5211 Yes, most. My whole point was not all.
no such thing as humane killing just as there is no such thing as humane rape.
Obviously not everyone treats their animals like this
Watch earthlings from 2005 then !! Its all standard practice stuff
If they are in the farming or animal factory system then the end results are the same. The animals don't have autonomy over their own existence.
Watched the whole thing, still not vegan.
As a vegan I also find animal cruelty to be kind of boring. Also, there are much more disturbing videos that you can find online than what is shown in Dominion.
Philosophical/ethical arguments I find much more convincing. But that's just me.
Why
At least you watched it
The only part that got to me was the pigs but I don’t eat pork anyway.
What roast did they serve after this event. Rolled beef with a honey mustard glaze is my favourite
Um. Qheres the 80 people?
In the end, it's all about money. You could treat animals very differently and massively reduce their pain, but that would cost a lot more, and people want to pay cheap. Humans suffer a lot just because of greed; why don't you talk about that? All poor people in poor countries are living in hell because of greed. Humans suffering>Animals suffering.
👏👏
These people are weak. I ate a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg on top while my sister made me watch this dumbass movie. Made me crave some chicken nuggets not gonna lie.
So many people left
Everything is hidden from the general to the beyond
The sad part about it is, that people have the mind set about not caring, which still to this day happens in wars too. People don't care enough, thats why the US can still go around killing innocent people in other countrys and we see the same stuff happing with Russia now too. It's an indirect view into the minds and the mentalitly of most of the people on this planet.
Lets care and lets save the lives of many animals and even humans. Give people the right mind set, and make them start to care about the horrifying stuff going on, at this very moment.
Just a small decision to change, can save an whole lifespan of a living creature of any kind.
I watched it and it really didnt bother me in the slightest to be perfectly honest.its called what makes the world go around .😂😂

Very horrible at least people should change after this
You know I agree that it’s inhumane but the biggest reason I don’t agree with vegans is that they respect the lives of animals more than that of humans. The guy really said that this is the worst problem in the world. Really? Worse than human trafficking, child abuse, racism, discrimination, mass murder, and a hundred other problems that plague the human race? Their morals are not aligned with what they should be, and they would put a fish’s life in front of another mans
I agree with you. Most vegans are so out of this world
Humans are the vermins of the this planet
we don't respect the lives of animals more than humans. we believe they are equal. we already have almost more than half of the world who don't do such things and it is already illegal in the eyes of law. but killing animals and eating them? less than half of the world is talking about animal rights and it isn't even termed illegal to kill them. so definitely we are going to focus on the latter issue right? bcoz it's worse than the former ones.
