My first new car was a red 68 plymouth roadrunner , I order it from Walker in Gary Indiana, It cost 26 hundred dollars, also had new red 70 RR, It cost 28 hundred . My last RR was a 71 RR cost 29 hundred dollars I am doing a 68 red RR resto now, Thanks for the great videos
you don't need those gaskets, i didnt use them, no vacuum leaks, its fine, those weren't even used from the factory. i tried them once, could hardly get intake bolts in and had vacuum leaks.
One thing that you might want consider is a 7 qt oil pan with a windage tray. We used to call the pan that you have "The 402 bearing spinner". Get the same pan used on Hemis and 440 6bbls.
Hey Dave, if you experience any vapor lock with the car, the fuel filter may be the culprit. You may want to move it down the front of the engine. Then it won’t heat up too much and boil in the filter which it did in my old car.. just an FYI
Just started watching this buildup. Nice car to start with. Good luck on the build, and race. On thing I have learned over the years, don't skimp on the aircleaner. The trick looking ones don't always help with power. Get an Edelbrock or even a modded OEM air cleaner.
Great little video as always.I don’t remember did you check the rear end and change the fluid, plus what about your driveshaft and unjoints did you check them.come long way.made out nicely getting this car.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎
as a liftime mopar enthusiaz if such a word your kickdown lever to the carb should be aligned a little straighter to the carb pin and try to wire the kickdown lever to the carb if you dont have a spring. hope you adjusted the low reverse band and the kickdown. aprox 1/4 inch between the kickdown band, the front one. your low reverse band about 5/16". google some pictures for the kickdown spring to the carb their should be about 3/8" play when the throttle is all the way to the floor. try to make sure you get these working or you will fry that 727. good luck with that beast those motor home 440s can take more of a beating than all of the other brand xs. been there done this for years aint no rookie. 40 plus years.
Yes, you have alot of clutch wear on filter and pan. Do not throw that transmission away, it's one of the easiest and cheapest transmission to do a stock rebuild for now. There's a ton of RUclips videos on that one!
im glad youll check out the transmission adjustments. i think not to many people would tell that info for you. one thing about that good old hunk of motorhome or new yorker iron, if thats a stock 440 with the original 430/435 cam, the stock cam basically runs at aprox 1200/1500- 4500rpms. with that crazy torker intake it likes to run 3500 to aprox 6000 rpm. if you have an old iron square bore intake give it a go if not if you race it disconnect and plug off your vacum advance. otherwise itll want to try to melt down and scuff those pistons. dont want that. those pistons are about 0.150 from tdc. the tops of the pistons are thicker in motor homes basically their towing around a land yaught " car" or a barge mh! as larry the cable guy says get er done. ill shut up for now. take care and try not to kill it!
Man T-Bone pulled that tire right off, I thought for sure he would drop it, why can`t you just bolt on the stock clutch fan, you seem to have the room when you take off the electric, maybe find a donor shroud but before you bolt on the fan, lets pull the water pump, timing chain cover, timing chain, camshaft, and lets slide a mild purple cam in it, teehee, it only takes a couple hours. Pop it all back together, and hit those duct tape drags. My road runner was only a 383 car, it was rebuilt stock, the engine rebuild place would only go stock form, I had the 906 heads, my mail man took home and did some porting on the insides of the runners, we slid a mild purple cam in it, it had a double roller timing chain, and I bought a 750 cfm Holley, instead of the original 650 Carter. It ran pretty good, I put the 750 carb on the stock motor, and it fell on it`s face, it ran better with the 650, so he did a little flow improvement on the 906 heads, and we did the cam, it sounded great, but the 906 heads still only got you 335 hp, which was on the road runner motors, they got you 10 more hp, a regular stock 383 got you 325 hp. There cars weighed 2 tons, 335 hp wasn`t much, but they would melt the tires. Your Satelite is somewhere around 4,000 right.
Jesus Christ man just take the bloody wheel off already, It's not story hour 🤕😂, Talk about stringing it out. Apart from the waffling it was a good video mate, I'm sorry I'm old I could die any minute I haven't got time to listen to 15 minutes of you talking about taking the bloody wheel off. 👍🍺
Yeah man the more you show that car the more I see that it is a good buy. Like you stated the car is solid. All it needs is some TLC and that you provide aplenty.🥸🥸🥸🥸

You need to be out of town on a small farm with all your projects . And a big barn . 👍🏻💯🇦🇺⛽️. Nice to see her getting back on the road 👍🏻.
That is one beautiful automobile you have. Gets me all worked up just looking at it.
Very cool Dave!!! Can't wait to hit the road.
Sounds bad ass! I got the exact motor and trans in my 67 Fury (except my 440 is a 74 block) with cut outs as well, the rumble never gets old lol 😂
Yea Dave everything 71 and up were rt hand on the left side. Great project love these old b bodies!
727 are legends rebuild it in the long run 👍🏻
Glad to see you changed new wiring harness 👍
I always look forward to your videos and have fun at the duct tape drags.
Thanks brother!
T-bone done T-boned the cabinet. Crashed on his first drive, suspended license for a year crashing under probationary trainee period 😉
Good job taking inventory of what's wrong and going about checking things off the list
Everything looks fantastic in the engine bay. Brakes are good to have 😂Was hoping you would romp on it. Another day I'm sure you will
I don’t want to break it before duct tape drags! 😂😂
@@rustbucketrestos6511 I hear yah 🤣🤣
This should be interesting! 👍
Good video....nice project.
This Satellite looks way too good. At least you and Birdsong are bringing Mopars.
One thing that you might want consider is a 7 qt oil pan with a windage tray. We used to call the pan that you have "The 402 bearing spinner". Get the same pan used on Hemis and 440 6bbls.
Good info! Thanks!
Your mechanical knowledge is impressive. For a welder fab man...lol. Love the Mopar and the show. keep the videos coming!
Those Torqueflites are bulletproof.
La verdad Amigo Me gusta muchísimo el plymouth Satéllite Hermoso proyecto Saludos desde Argentina
It was awesome to see T-Bone putting in some work- he's definitely not afraid of it! Too bad the camera wasn't on for his first solo burnout!
He’s a natural!
Looks awesome, needs a big block sway bar
Look for a Hayden 2765 fan clutch. It’s short enough to clear the radiator. We just installed one on our 440.
Awesome video. I saw that you where missing a nut for your transmission mount.

Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of the current setup. I’ll definitely change it up quite a bit after the races this weekend.

Love your videos, you and junkerup Chris birdsong could give graveyard cars a run for their money.
Haha maybe one day!
Try to find a manual steering box and get rid of the pwr stg. It will steer fine ....and no leaks.
Great little video as always.I don’t remember did you check the rear end and change the fluid, plus what about your driveshaft and unjoints did you check them.come long way.made out nicely getting this car.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎
T bone is looking like a real 🧰 mechanic he got grease. all over his face, 😭 means he's working the hardest.
That must have been one hell of a burnout. Imagine if you had it on camera. See you at Duct Tape Dave.

Thank you for the feedback! I’ll take a closer look!
Pick up a couple of metal fuel filters ,just in case they say no to plastic clear filter, 🙀
Plastic fuel filters will pass NHRA tech inspection.

I’m going to keep her until she grenades!
Radiator looks to small. Are you sure its correct? 440's need a dual fans also. High pulling fans.
It looks like the fan shroud is backwards. If it is backwards you are reducing the cooling capacity of the radiator/fan combo
So freaking cool
You should make a boom tube and run pipe run each cut out to the boom tube tip. Check out the one Chris Birdsong just made. They sound amazing!
The pan on those torqueflites will always have stuff in them. Looks normal to me. Looks like the inside of a 100,000 mile transmission
Why cant you use the factory type clutch fan??
I learned to just cover the cores. in the rad then mine doesn't push antifreeze out anymore
Don't waste any time looking for left hand thread studs. Not at all needed and they're hard to find.
You gotta paint her gloss black and put crome tin rings on the wheels
Where is the charger at
Look better with a magnum 500 rims on it

No 'H; pipe on the exhaust ?
Not for now anyway!
Gear leaver is still on the column 🤦🏼🇦🇺👍🏻
