FIRST DRIVE SINCE 1976 - Test Driving My 1968 Plymouth Satellite

  • The day is finally here! Time to take my ratty 1968 Plymouth Satellite for a ride around the block. This day has been in works since last summer! Over the last 8 months I have been picking away at getting the car put back together for daily service. It's all together and we go for a quick "ride around the block" before going in for a safety inspection. A safety inspection is needed in Manitoba before any car can be plated and allowed on the roads.
    The background on this car: The original owner blew up the trans in 1976 with 89 000 original miles on the clock. Now at the time this was just a base model satellite with a 318/automatic so it got pushed off to the side. As time went on the car slowly deteriorated until the summer of 2020.
    Wish me luck that all goes smooth and we can go for a proper drive in this old hotrod.
    Thanks for watching! Don't forget to click the bell.

    I've dug just about everything you've had on your channel, I've even realized how sweet tri 5s are after not really feelin' 'em forever, but this is by far the best, it's one of my favorite cars on any shows, right up there with General Mayhem before they molested it with the Hellcat, or Floyds 68 Dodge Sweptline, or Disgustang. I wish I could by it

  • @edwardberwind8544
    @edwardberwind8544 3 года назад +15

    Couldn't help but notice, you did a hell of a lot of work just to get your turn signals working. Then I watched you tooling around town making turns and not using them. Just saying. (Retired Police Officer) In any event Dan you can be proud of all the time and work you put into this car. A job well done and you didn't let it beat you. That is something I have always lived with when working on my cars." I'm not going to let this thing beat me" Well done Dan, Well done.

      Is it necessary to signal when nobody is there to see it ?

    • @edwardberwind8544
      @edwardberwind8544 Год назад

      The law as stated says A turn signal must be activated when intending to turn right or left and when entering a traffic pattern from a parking area. Whether or not you choose to use the signals is up to you.@@kellismith4329

    I think I almost have more respect for you than a lot of the big builders, simply because anybody can sync a boatload of money into a car and then keep it garaged and rub it with a diaper, but how many people are just trying to put these old rigs back on the road as dailies and hot rods that are actually going to get used. Respect.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
