Hands down Cassius Marcellus Clay aka Muhammad Ali is the greatest heavyweight ever. He was a great boxer, had a powerful punch and could take a punch as well as anybody. Even Earnie Shavers couldn't KO him, but I suspect that Earnie's shots were part of his eventual Parkinson's issues.
Shavers won this fight by a country mile. Unfortunately the beating he inflicted resulted in Ali losing his power of speech and his fabulous reflexes. The final result can be seen in Ali's last fight against Larry Holmes.
