    Really respect how you all are navigating, steering, and sailing through this tricky area of currents, wind and no wind, changing weather, and heavy shipping traffic! Tiller is a trooper! Safe travels!

    I'm not quite sure what it specifically is but I really enjoy your videos so much. You seem to show and describe the actual sailing and that let's me get a sense of how it feels to be on the boat. It may be your body language Lisa. I can feel the tension, relief and calm in your voice and expressions. Pierre seems to be your reassuring rock.
    Thanks so much

      Thanks! I am always spontaneous and not with a script. I usually catch Pierre by surprise with the camera. Also, I edit a video when I have time and when I am happy with it, not on a set time schedule.

    Port Elizabeth (PE) is really my favourite city in South Africa and my dad used to be the vice Commodore of the club. Sadly that’s the past and it’s no longer yacht club and the walkons are a mess. We stopped over the 3 years ago with our cat and yes the Ore loading of the ships makes a huge mess of your boat and to make matters worse there is usually severe water restrictions in place so you can’t even wash your boat. You can be glad you went straight to EL.

      The rally boats who stopped in P-E loved the yacht club but said the dust was terrible.

    I have been following your blog since the beginning... thank you so much for your time and effort that comes out so beautiful...
    I was wondering how much difference in speed their might be between your 5x and the 55 over distance with equivalent crews... the 5x is my chosen design. Thanks so much, and all the best, always...

      Pierre thinks the 5x is about 6% faster and is a safer boat based on length and weight distribution. If you want other specific details contact us via our web site. Thanks for your kind comments!

      @@biotreksailingand how you would compare the 51 with a 5x?

    • @biotreksailing
      @biotreksailing  Год назад

      The 51 is a great boat and sails well. I loved the 51 when we sailed on 2Canoes in Mauritius. It is an easier boat to manage than the 5x. We are crossing the Atlantic right now and 2 Canoes left the same time as us. Check out how well they are doing on the tracker on the BioTrek web site.

    On 15 minutes 47 seconds, what did you exactly do?

      Sail adjustment is a bit of art, and Pierre is expert at that. Our boat has the sheets routed through a loop with multiple adjustment points.
