at this point, I prefer youtubers that create video essays like this here to youtubers who NEED to make a new video every week, talking about random stuff because it's their job and they only make it to make money
I'm still somewhat "new" to the contemporary music scene but if an album doesn't come out the same year it's teased/marketed, is that really an album rollout? I missed the rollout for this, but Childish Gambino's Because the Internet rollout seemed like the coolest way to do this.
That’s why like with Kanye I kinda like the idea of updating an album after it releases as long as once the updates are finished like a month after release you promise to release more merchandise and the physical editions of the album. Just imagine, the album drops, after the first week we get an update every single day for the first three weeks(21 updates total)! These start out small but slowly climb! And what’s great about it is that these updates aren’t just improvements made by the artist but they are made based off of fan feedback because the fans can consume the project! So let’s say this album is 14 tracks; 12 songs, 1 skit, 1 interlude! They make a post asking the fans if they would like to draft one of the genuine songs off of the album and replace it with a leaked track that everyone was sad never made it on the album. And this is a super hard decision because you have people defending both sides of it since both songs are really great but they don’t want to bloat the album! It’s a tough decision but then on Day 20 they just decide to remove the one song that EVERYONE complained about and they put the song that lost on the draft! This would be so cool to have a rollout after like a rollafter or something idk
That Jake guy is pretty funny he should make a RUclips channel

CMIYGL’s rollout reminded me of Death Grips’ rollout for Bottomless Pit and They Might Be Giants’ Dial-A-Song thing with the whole phone number idea.
