Anyone ever noticed how Flower Bow, Igor, and CMIYGL is essentially a new trilogy? I’m calling it The Love Trilogy. It all stems from Flower Boy, and then Igor and CMIYGL are different perspectives of love triangles.
it’s always been about a love triangle tho like on goblin and wolf. it’s like igor and cmiygl is the new version of those albums with tyler’s style at his full potential
@@abeultra cherry bomb feels like the transitional period between these two eras (or trilogies in this case). Still love that album tho.
Baudelaire was also a renown romantic, famous for his grandiose but bleak depictions of love and hapiness, and thus Tyler might have taken his name to emphasize his feelings of what his youth and cherry bomb could have been. Plus, Baudelaire was a notorious drug addict (les paradis artificiels,...) and saw drugs and sex as an escape (almost the only escape) from his sad 19th century reality. Tyler said something about avoiding drugs as much as he could in interviews and public discussions (like the one with converse) as he feared them, he doesn't want them to rule his life.

In my opinion, this was Tyler's most personal project and really helped me connect to him and understand his evolution. Great video!
Tbh I was a huge Tyler / OF fan when Yonkers dropped and for the buzzing years that followed. I didn't really understand Bastard when it dropped, at least the concept of it. I knew it was creative but it more or less seemed like a silly way to wrap the project up with skits. I didn't really understand the underpinnings that made the album so unique until years later and albums later. I didn't pay as close attention to what Tyler was doing but I would still tune in. Now after all these years I understand that Tyler is about as close to a method rapper (like a method actor) that I have seen in years. He uses these characters to show off different parts of himself and it's through the contrast with his public persona, his character, AND his ACTUAL self that fans connect to him. It's really interesting to think about and I wonder if Tyler had this sort of grand plan imagined all the way back when OF was still one young group of artists or if it's more so something that developed as he experimented with different sounds. Either way with this album and Tyler's consistent track record he's proven himself over and over again at being whole heartedly deserving the title of 'artist'. I love that Tyler doesn't show fear in experimenting with different sounds and imagery with his projects but leans into these characters and aesthetics. All the while he plays these roles you can tell that Tyler is still himself all along. It's not an easy feat to accomplish for any artist to even flirt with these different styles without the public perception of the artist themselves changing and not the thing that they are making. I hope that makes sense. Basically I'm saying Tyler is a bit of a genius.

One of my favourite things about Tyler's albums is that he has such cohesion with the style and theme of his albums. I listened to call me if you get lost when it first released back in 2021, i was 17 years old at the time listening to it on a long bus ride. The entire theme of travel definitely stuck out me (as i was literally traveling when first listening to it), but as I’ve matured, gone through puberty, and found a bit more confidence, each time i listen the lyrics ring more and more true; it feels like he has captured this special feeling of growing through pure experience. Truly a timeless album and im so proud of Tyler for getting to this point.

great breakdown. I'm barley getting off of Igor. I've been on Igor since it came out, but it wasn't until last year, I was fresh out of a breakup I listened to it heavy. However, it wasn't until this past January I was actually living the album. I had a crush on a new person but they ended up not choosing me. It was then I UNDERSTOOD and felt Igor. Now I am entering a new season. Mizz Baudelaire. -Jackie G
The poet dude was not where he got the name. It’s from a tv show with the main family’s last name being botilare or however you spell it. He says this on an interview.
I like to think there's also an element of travel in this album because of the current climate and how travelling hasn't been possible or easy lately, so there's like a fantasy of travel and a fear, but T is saying Call Me if You Get Lost as some reassurance, not just for actual travel, but also the fantasy of it. That was just another take I had. Sick video by the way, I really liked it
👉🏾 "Wolfgang" Mozart was a composer (beat maker) & Chuck "Baudelaire" was a poet (lyricist) who mastered rhyme & rhythm. Tyler is a beat maker & lyricist so what he did earlier w/ "Wolfgang" he's doing w/ "Baudelaire" now
This is my favorite album after Igor which is still his magnum opus. You can tell Tyler grew a lot over the last couple of years and CMIYGL is a mix of bragging about his success and the beauty that it is to grow and to explore the world. That being said the album is more disorganized than Igor, maybe because it's not a story but a mix of thoughts and idea packed into an album?
1:03 Italian? If I were to fancy a guess by the amount of times he mentioned French and Swiss cities, I would happen to have a guess that Sir Baudelaire is french...
Honestly it was pretty funny how Igor was all like experimental and it had kind of like a storyline to it and there were so many videos dissecting the album I just like he'll call me if you get lost it's just a good rap album
The whole theme behind this album me and Tyler went on a romantic glamming trip just to talk , hunch snd discover life in the mountains and our conversations turned into this album recorded so much with Apple voice recorder .we wanna change the world in a gay way u know make everybody a glittery queen .
I agree the link to Baudelaire makes sense but I feel like Tyler thought it sounded cool and bourgeoisie (talking about his lifestyle-travelling the world, on a yacht, bought two rolls royces, “catch me at my other other other crib”)and went with it.
I recently discovered that Pharrell’s mixtape with DJ Drama, In My Mind Prelude was the inspiration to CMIYGL. I thought it’s noteworthy to mention as it serves as the oil, lard, or butter of the album where Tyler can toss in all the ingredients of ideas and inspiration to cook himself an album of the year.
all the music videos and promotion vids remind me so much of a wes anderson movie like grand budapest hotel bc of the travel and aesthetic. but also like series of unfortunate events where the kids names are baudelaire.
I thought you wanted to dance is the best on the album IMO. I don’t know where I would but CMIYGL, on one hand it explores Tyler’s personality and has intricate detail on everything on the album, while it might not be as much of a concept as IGOR was, it wasn’t going for that title as a concept album, it was going for joy, exploration, storyline and amazing, diverse music, so in conclusion, I would HAVE to put CMIYGL at number #1 In Tyler’s discography.

Truly a timeless album and im so proud of Tyler for getting to this point.
I love this album and RISE is probably my favorite track from it!
This album came out for me at such an amazing time considering a few days before "Call me If You Get Lost" dropped I started my journey traveling the world :)
Really good video Converse With Me
Great video bro keep doing what you're doing
this was really well made
Tyler just hates that he shares a last name with the father that abandoned him
great breakdown.

Your videos are awesome, man!
Tyler is a beat maker & lyricist so what he did earlier w/ "Wolfgang" he's doing w/ "Baudelaire" now
Charles, not Chuck😂
Love the instrumentals in the background of the whole video
This is my favorite album after Igor which is still his magnum opus.
You can tell Tyler grew a lot over the last couple of years and CMIYGL is a mix of bragging about his success and the beauty that it is to grow and to explore the world.
That being said the album is more disorganized than Igor, maybe because it's not a story but a mix of thoughts and idea packed into an album?
2nd best album hes made and my favorite song on CMIYGL is Wilshire.
Wilshire is beautiful and raw
same wilshire is very very good i listen to it everyday. But i’m not a local i don’t sure what wilshire means, does Urban dictionary’s correct?
mine too!
Yea same, he’s just storytelling and I love it
@@itzalayahzworld4199 best story telling imo. I think this is the definition of story telling in a song.
I died laughing listening to him read DJ Drama’s verse so plainly
1:03 Italian? If I were to fancy a guess by the amount of times he mentioned French and Swiss cities, I would happen to have a guess that Sir Baudelaire is french...
I definitely thought this sounds like the old tyler, but more refined
great video, btw how did you make the screenshots look like paintings?
The quality of your videos is incredible. Really well done, you can tell a lot of work went into the visuals.
2:22 i noticed that "seen" fitting with the background beat
j saw the circles vid on my feed your a goat man keep it up
Awesome editing on this!!!

You are one of my favourite channels on RUclips man. Such quality videos every time
u got great visuals man, what did u use to make this vid brozay?
Thank you! Photoshop, illustrator, premiere and after effects
I don’t know why but this video made me emotional. I’m in the same place as Tyler when it comes to to living to be your full self!
I though you wanted to dance, is gentle and sounds like a kiss in your ear. It is just beautiful.
This video was beautifully made.. thanks
This channel is deep fire. Glad I found it. Cheers!
I got distracted by the level of editing... man you are good at this shit
Honestly it was pretty funny how Igor was all like experimental and it had kind of like a storyline to it and there were so many videos dissecting the album I just like he'll call me if you get lost it's just a good rap album
You're breakdown is exquisite. *subscribed
Tyler Baudelaire is Thurnis Haley when he was a young man .
that felt like 30 minutes but in a good way
1:50 this should’ve been the album cover
bro had a vision
Well…you got your wish 😭?
Great editing!
I watch this type of videos before i listen to any album bc i want to be able to understand it,thats why "to pimp a butterfly" is my favorite album.
The whole theme behind this album me and Tyler went on a romantic glamming trip just to talk , hunch snd discover life in the mountains and our conversations turned into this album recorded so much with Apple voice recorder .we wanna change the world in a gay way u know make everybody a glittery queen .
At first I really didn't like call me if you get lost but after listening to it agian it's now one of my favorite albums
LOVE UR VIDS
i saw someone wearing converse today
i really need them shoes
Great video! Very interesting
7:08 I just realized, how tf does he have a dog next to him without him dying
Motion graphics my dude, motion graphics. Big up for nailing my interests in design and Tyler’s music in one video, I appreciate you.
all the music videos and promotion vids remind me so much of a wes anderson movie like grand budapest hotel bc of the travel and aesthetic. but also like series of unfortunate events where the kids names are baudelaire.
Very well put together video love it!
Great video
I thought you wanted to dance is the best on the album IMO.
I don’t know where I would but CMIYGL, on one hand it explores Tyler’s personality and has intricate detail on everything on the album, while it might not be as much of a concept as IGOR was, it wasn’t going for that title as a concept album, it was going for joy, exploration, storyline and amazing, diverse music, so in conclusion, I would HAVE to put CMIYGL at number #1 In Tyler’s discography.
I can’t believe he sampled atmosphere. I’m so glad I know this now
Tyler’s last three albums have been all amazing!!!
