And just to think, all of that production with only some wood chips, bokashi, a little COF and worm castings, you guys really had an amazing garden. I also think you did a great job of using the space to it's best advantage. I can hardly wait to see your production in several years when you have your own place.
If the sponge material had a chance to form inside the luffa, you should be able to dry them out and get a sponge. The smaller green ones I stored in the basement last year mainly spoiled, although I did get a few. I think it would be a good idea to wipe them down with a mold inhibitor, like LAB, a bleach solution or hydrogen peroxide. This is something I am doing with my bird house gourds this year.
I also think storing them in a warm over cool dry environment would be beneficial.
The two luffas I got this year, worm food. I even saw some one dried them in an oven?
Curious, what are you going to do with the super hot peppers? paint remover?
    Nice leeks too!
Hope you saved a bunch of seeds.
Great job my friends, I am sure the neighbors will appreciate your generosity.
    Stay Well !!!

Congratulations you two on an incredible growing season! I'm surprised you didn't get more and bigger pumpkins. If you get some of those giant pumpkin seeds, you'll be able to double the weight of your harvest next year. Do worms over winter in the ground where you are? As Nick said, I hope you saved the awesome pepper plant!

Thanks Sandra! It definitely exceeded our expectations. The pumpkins didn't grow because my mom and I planted them too late. And then it was just too hot and they didn't get watered enough. And we'd run out of room in beds and planted them along the edge in wood chips. Lol - it was not ideal! Next year we are going to do better! Cheers, Colleen

Amazing! That's so awesome! Your climate was a lot like ours, I'm sure. Welcome to the channel!
Jason says we had about 30 ish plants in the main area. We had a few cherry tomatoes sprinkled around, too.
Next year, we plan on growing only the ones we really liked this year and that produced. So fewer plants, but we'll enjoy them more.
And hey - you're always welcome to stop by since you're in the area! The last few days really melted a lot of things around here, but you'd be welcome this fall or you can wait until next spring! Cheers, Colleen
