    Guys, everyone is asking questions to this guy as though he's an expert!....he just got lucky because customs turned a blind eye to him bringing this drone in from Singapore!....the law in India states "NO" imported drones are allowed into India from a foreign country!...I travel to India from the UK 3-4 times a year and have asked the customs officers every time if I can bring a drone into the country and every time the answer is a resounding "NO"!...don't risk it!...you won't even get the drone back!

      I recently checked with someone who has brought a drone to India - the tweak is - mention that you have taken it from India and bringing it back. DJI stores and other electronic stores sell drones in India legally. So buying a drone within the country from such stores is not illegal.(provided you follow the flying guidelines as stated in digisky web portal).
      But customs is a tricky bet. Apna luck pehen ke chalo .

    You shouldn’t rely on the DJI app. It is sometimes not up to date with local air space. There might be a temporary air space restriction in that area which the dji app will not tell you. The only way to check is via the correct government websites

      True. I am also checking the flying restrictions in digitalsky website . Moreover , keeping the Dji app updated as well in parallel

    hello brother. thank you for the much-needed information. I have purchased a Dji mini 4 pro with fly more plus combo. So, If I am to visit India from my country without any hassle, I am supposed to ;
    1. pack everything (e.g. drone, propellers etc.) inside Dji provided drone bag except the Rc 2 remote and batteries onto my booking luggage.
    2. pack the drone batteries and the remote inside my CARRYING BACKPACK.
    right?? Since I won't have the drone itself on my while going through immigration, if they ask about the RC 2 remote, what should I say? I checked with the Indigo Airlines website for allowed items in booking luggage and cabin bags. It says I can carry the drone inside booking luggage without any batteries.

    I am buying a drone as well as a go pro from Thailand to india for my personal use
    I can throw all boxes in Thailand itself
    Then will i have to pay any custom charges because i buyed drone from Thailand.
    And after buying drone i will take vat refund from airport so when i get vat refund do custom officers get to know i have buyed something?

    • @sidztube
      @sidztube  Год назад

      First of all - is that a nano drone (within 250g)?
      The remaining queries could be answered accordingly.
      Moreover, Indian customs will not know about any vat refund from Thai airport.

    Hi
    I bought a dji mini 4 pro in usa coming to india in 5 days. The drone is a catgorised as a nano drone if used with normal battery it is 249 grams but the battery i have is the extended plus battery 45 mints which bump the weight to 305 grams at take off instead of using the regular ones. I am scared to bring it thinking they will confiscate it in customs because its heavier i heard if i put drone in chekin baggage with batteries removed and put in hand carry with remote in carryon i wont have issue . Is this correct ?. Also since this is 305 grams with the extended battery would i have to get the the remote pilot license or is it not applicable because yhe drone itself is categorised as a nano drone. Please help . I am really confused all websites online are not providing coear information . I am really frustrated dont want to lose my drone at airport and also not be able to fly in india after all these hassle. Please give your opinion and any links that help
    Thankyou

    • @sidztube
      @sidztube  Год назад

      The weight would be considered based on what is printed on the pack. If the drone packaging states it as a nano drone, you don’t have any issues. ( as per the updates I have got from various authorised internet sources) . You have to carry any battery in your hand baggage and the remaining drone and stuff in check in baggage. However, you can reach out to Indian customs as well for any detailed clarifications - for a binary answer : Yes or No

      Yes you can bring it with few basic checks- 1)check whether the drone is listed in Digital Sky website. 2) Apply for a UIN in Digital sky even before you fly back. While registering, sign up as Operator and use form D2. 3) the last trick - Always mention in customs that you are already using the drone(not a fresh purchase). Note - your drone falls in micro UAS category
