- Video clips from the 2019 season showing horses and riders having a bad moment. Video by MovingImagesNW and from a variety of events from the year. PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Use the old adage - if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. These brief clips are only moments in time and do not give you, the viewer, the whole story. Some of these events are recognized events, but most of the bloopers here are from schooling shows - so give a little grace to the horse and rider as they are probably learning the sport or moving up a division/level. There could be a variety of reasons why the horse refused the jump or the rider fell off and making a snap judgement about the moment will not be tolerated. MovingImagesNW reserves the right to delete such comments. Please enjoy this montage and smile, because as horse riders, we've all been here and know exactly the frustration and challenge that comes with riding and showing horses. Song featured ("Roar" by Katy Perry) is not owned by MINW.
my god people, THIS ISN'T HORSE ABUSE. if you know nothing about horses, don't ever ride horses, or have never been around one, YOU HAVE NO ROOM TO CLAIM THIS IS HORSE ABUSE. these horses are perfectly fine. being an equestrian and handling 1k pound animals is going to involve mistakes. all the equipment used is only harmful IF USED INCORRECTLY, this video includes no incorrect use. nothing is too tight and they aren't being stabbed. horses react this way due to being too excited, energetic, a little nervous or confused and need extra encouragement, or simply spook from something random. lets also touch on the fact that some of the riders are inexperienced and STILL LEARNING or are simply making a mistake on a bad day. a 5 second fucking clip gives you no time to make a full negative accusation against someone and what you think theyre doing.
for those concerned about whips? WHIPS DO NOT HURT UNLESS YOU VERY HARSHLY SMACK THEM. NO riders are doing this. the XC riders are reaching behind and tapping their hind end to give them encouragement and let them know to use their back end for power so they can go over a jump. a little tap with a whip or crop isnt gonna scar a horse and terrify it. and with spurs, SPURS DO NOT HURT UNLESS YOU KICK HARSHLY. again, no one is doing this here. spurs are essentially a tiny, harmless poke which adds more "pressure", or encouragement, to ask the horse something if they aren't sensitive. if you have any questions about some of the video clips, you're welcome to ask me!
I agree with this comment, I use spurs and a crop and I always have to explain why it doesn’t hurt the horse.
THIS is what it means to be an equestrian.
Its not about how well we do. It's about how many times we make mistake and how many times we fall, but we get back on. It's about having faith in our equine friends. It's about having confidence in ourselves.
2:03 that my horse Texas that was me sister
Edit: I knew my sister was hiding something
Very well done ~ love the way you put the lyrics with the movements!
I just love it when they get back up/ try again 💕
The most commen jumps to fall off on are water jumps. The horse may not like the water and the rider may not be the most comfterbale with water jumps.
Be careful using glitter on horses. It can get into their eyes and cause damage and extreme irritation and inflammation.
its clearly only on their hind end lol
@@iimdone it was on the neck towards the head too.
I ADORE HORSES.... FEEL SORRY IF THEY GET HURT
Guess these horses aren't soft in the mouth
It’s their owners who are soft in the head. That’s why they need helmets.
2:05 that's pure talent right there
1:49 That girl handled it so well! She tried to get the horse but since the horse was spooked so much he got away with running.
Hahahahahhahahhah
Die armen Pferde!!!
😍
The horse attempting to perform dressage then lightning strikes and thunder follows gets scared
This is such a great video! There are ruff patches but we get back up NO MATTER WHAT!!
Love this video so much well done. Definitely subscribing!
Bless these poor horses. Who take these falls 💔❤️💔
I often wonder how many second chances horses are willing to give people. I don't begrudge anyone for trying to do any of these sports with horses, but I ask are you doing it for you or the horse. Is your goal to search into the horses mind and spirit so he is a "willing partner", or is it the blue ribbons that count most? If it's the latter, leave the horses in the pasture and get a dirt bike.
Could not have said it better myself! Very diplomatically put.
That was amazing @ 0:26 how the horse just gingerly dragged its leg over the fallen rider.
such terrible balance and seating :')
Wow the grand prix rider have arrived the chat
@@equiabban7120 No just basic common sense and understanding the psychology of your horse.
XD
People think they are terrible riders but really the horse is nervous about it so the riders I’ll get them so they can concer there fear
Whoop whoop
Oof
🤣🤣🤣
Your not watching bloobers, it's called cruelty! Look at the way those so called equestrians are using a crop to beat the horse over a jump.
I going to guess your not an equestrian and that you like RaleighLink14 🙄
Some would be all nice & say its "encouragement" & "they've got to keep momentum to clear the jump" & these people believe they are that good at riding & have loads of knowledge that they question other people & what they know about horse's. Its not rocket science & you dont have to be an equestrian to see abuse
Charlie Bob it’s not abuse. whips don’t hurt unless your actually beating the horse but that horse looked like it was going to stop. but you can’t tell from a 15 second clip
@@mel-ot9dq aahhh ok whips dont hurt.....why are they used then??
Charlie Bob It’s the noise
These are literally all of the ridiculous disciplines/sports that use domination, force, painful bits and tiedowns and you wonder why horses react this way? These aren’t bloopers, this really isn’t funny. These are animals in pain and humans who lack the ability to understand and show compassion towards them
stop spreading misinformation you absolute prick. everything you've said is horribly wrong and nonfactual that i cant even gather the energy to correct it all, but, here we go.
first off, they ARE NOT IN PAIN. you clearly know nothing about horses if you think they're in pain in these videos. second, there's absolutely no domination used at all?? where tf do you see that?? lastly, ALL tools used with animals can be harmful IF USED INCORRECTLY OR HARSHLY; in these clips, they aren't. horses react this way due to being too excited, energetic, a little nervous or confused and need extra encouragement, or simply spook from something random. as an equestrian who has years worth of experience and knowledge of horses, has been around experts, and done my proper research, i can confirm that this video is funny as hell and this is simply what it's like to be an equestrian. we are able to ride and bond with 1k pound animals that can kill us, OF COURSE mistakes happen. open your mind a little more and try to be less ignorant, k? thanks
Stop whipping the horses
its extra encouragement and used as an extension of the hand to get the horse's attention.
são lindos e maravilhosos os cavalos ad pessoas do video muito chatas acham q os cavalos tem asas para voare e soltarem em coisas altas
This video should be called “Insane Course Creations and the Idiots Who Abuse Their Horses With Them”.
The problem with cross country begins with the completely insane and dangerous obstacles set up to make it more exciting for spectators and challenge the riders. It’s the poor horses that are challenged. Some of those jumps take out horse after horse after horse and they just keep sending riders over them when what they should do is either eliminate them or restructure them to make them safe. The second issue is the riders. They walk the course beforehand and, if they would all say “I’m not taking my horse over that”, the designers would have no choice but to fix it. The riders have the power to make changes, they just don’t do it. Having said that, I will say that I’m very proud to see more and more riders competing in rope halters instead of bits. Things are changing, albeit slowly, in equestrian sports and it’s about damn time!
None of these riders were abusing there horses. Horses and riders have there own minds and these things happen. Go to a real barn not Star table barns and learn something before commenting!
Bits,chains,spurs,whips.... yeh, great horsemanship just for afew pretty coloured ribbons/rosettes & no doubt money. Hhmmmm...
Charlie Bob you obviously don’t know a lot about the sport. These are the bloopers so nothing is perfect in this video. Calm down, also where do you see chains in the video? 😂😂😂
bits, spurs and whips aren’t abuse.. do your research.. plus lmao what chains
@@joyequine9847 😂😂😂😂 yes clearly i don't know anything about the "sport"
@@mel-ot9dq depends what view point you take on really isn't it as to what is or isnt abuse
Charlie Bob exactly, then why is an uneducated high school drop out commenting on a video they know nothing about?
