The Comeback - Horse Bloopers 2018

- Video clips from the 2018 season showing horses and riders having a bad moment. Video by MovingImagesNW and from a variety of events from the year. IN RESPONSE TO SOME OF THE COMMENTS BEING LEFT ON THIS VIDEO: Yes, ideally, the riders should be letting go of the reins when they fall off, but most of the time as the rider is falling, our "fight or flight" instinct kicks in and the adrenaline gets high and we grab for anything to save us - including the reins!! Yes, we know better, but in the moment, that knowledge can go out the window in the heat of the moment. Show a little grace, please. PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Use the old adage - if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. These brief clips are only moments in time and do not give you, the viewer, the whole story. Some of these events are recognized events, but most of the bloopers here are from schooling shows - so give a little grace to the horse and rider as they are probably learning the sport or moving up a division/level. There could be a variety of reasons why the horse refused the jump or the rider fell off and making a snap judgement about the moment will not be tolerated. MovingImagesNW reserves the right to delete such comments. Please enjoy this montage and smile, because as horse riders, we've all been here and know exactly the frustration and challenge that comes with riding and showing horses. Song featured ("The Comeback" by Danny Gokey) is not owned by MINW.
I’m in here 3 times from the same bad weekend. 😂 We went out 2 weeks later and won at the same level. It’s important to laugh at yourself sometimes. Horses are humbling creatures. 😂😂
Good for you not giving up!
I saw you in there! I looked at your profile so that’s how I saw!
YESSSSS I MADE IT IN THE VIDEOOOO 0:32

Isnt that a bad thing ? .-.
@@lunaequestrian449 no?
@@mckennabokhoven7566 I dunno. Just most ppl in this video... failed
@@lunaequestrian449 is failing bad? did they or the horse die? did they quit riding afterwards? was the horse scarred for life? LMAO "bad thing" id go with unfortunate or unlucky, either way all riders walked away one experience wiser
The first thing most of them need to learn is to let go of the reins. It can be dangerous for the horse and even the rider. 2:47 what's the point? Just let go!
Totally agree with you,I've seen people keep hold over the reins and the horse has pulled away so the bridle comes off the horse and has the horse goes to take off the bridle gets caught in the horse legs it can break a horses leg, just let go it's so dangerous if the bridle is pulled off the horse and the horse takes off
It's a natural instinct. If you're falling, you want to grab onto anything you can get hold on, and in this case it's usually the reins.
If you let go the reins, most horses would gallop away. Reins hanging down, probably stepping on them; which might lead to a wound in the mouth (due to the bit). Or even worse, falling. This isn't good either^^
In the moment you're falling, you cannot concentrate on whether the bridle is going to stay on or not.
ITS NOT THE FIRST THING THEY THINK ABOUT. You think riders are just going to be “oh shit better let go of the reins” NO they think “holy shit I’m falling. What the kick is going to happen to my horse or me. Am I going to die. How can I not get injured.” Then when they hit the floor they think “where the 🤬am I? Where is my horse? “ good enough for an unequestrian like you who knows nothing about falling of horses
I think the main take away from this video is that y’all need to tighten your throat latches 😂
Actually, proper practice is to lead a broad just behind the ears and tie the friendlies of the bridle to it so it doesn't come off. Wouldn't you know, the one time I forgot to do this, I "dropped"my horse in front of a trahkener (log over a ditch) and, sure enough, took the bridle with me when my horse stopped and I came off. Fortunately, he just stood there, so I rebridled, got on, jumped the fence and finished the course!!
"Leave a braid.". I hate autocorrect!
Ditto for " tie the crownpiece". Gah autocorrect.

most of these riders really need to learn to let go of the reins when they fall off the horse... they can do a lot of damage to the horses head when they hold on to the reins... :(
Most of these commenters really need to realize this is a "BLOOPERS" or in other words "FAILS" video. Not just a normal riding video. Its also natural instinct. If you're falling, you want to grab onto anything you can get hold on, and in this case it's usually the reins.
@@elliteequine3785 yeah, but personally I feel like you should learn to let go of the reins. It's really important. I mean some of them were pulling the bridles off. That's not just a blooper in my eyes...
@@nikaya2001 Yes, you definitely should if you can. Especially if you're in a closed area. If not, it's less important... And yes, some of them were. Because this is a video of fails. This does not define their riding.
@@elliteequine3785 I'm not saying that it defines their riding. I'm just saying that the part where bridles were being pulled of or where they were holding on to the reins like that, should not have happened. But I am sure that they are great riders and that they didn't do it on purpose
My daughter made the video and she is fine and learned from her fall.
The ones the crack me up is when the horses don't want to jump so they stub up and the rider slides up on their necks THEN they decide they can jump and just go hopping through them
0:25the horse actually tried 😭😭poor horsey and rider 😭❤️
Gosh, its ok its Just a falls worse is on horse racing CALM DOWN KID
@@damnitlena794 horse racing isnt a sport
I actually saw this accident and I know the horse and rider. It was neither's fault. That horse gets extremely fast and rushes to jumps and has never been the most careful stadium horse. So please, don't blame it on the rider or horse.
jasmine I wasn’t blaming it on anyone
@@fb.realistx5556 you edited your comment. you clearly stated that it was the riders fault, and then said, "poor horsey." yes you were.
I hate it so much when people keep hold of the horses bridle/reins once they have fallen off - I know it's so that the horse doesn't run away or anything, but have they ever thought how much pain that could cause a horse?!
It's a natural instinct. If you're falling, you want to grab onto anything you can get hold on, and in this case it's usually the reins.
EllieTheHorse it’s helpful to practice. Some people go as far as trying to climb back up their horses face to get back on. Natural instinct of course plays a role, but you need to be ready to let go, even by doing things such as emergency dismounting. I’ve known people to let go of the reins when they have a chance of staying on. That’s just who they are 😀 some of these people are still grappling the reins when they’re off...poor horses must be scared to death! Gotta love em
Edit: awww I just saw a clip where a kids pony pushed the kid back up when she slid forward 😂
@@marywalker994 I agree, but i'm just saying especially for first timers XD
EllieTheHorse oh, yeah, DEFINITELY! 😂 ik that feeling alright
@@marywalker994 ahaha same 😂😂😂
Lol this is the only decent footage of my fall at caber (2:16) so thank you 😂😂😂
Das höchste Glück der Pferde... Sind die Reiter auf der Erde 😉
When one falls let go of the riens!
Moral of the story
*Grow some leg muscles and kick*
01:22 woww! Dat paard gaat echt snel!!🤣
horses being forced to do things they (and possibly the riders also) are not ready for or don't like. Most handled it nicely and calmly, though there were some that clearly haven't learned to let go of the reins when you fall off. Poor horses.
Yes, horses give the message that they do not like this, and people don't listen. Horses feel unsafe with jumps and other things they have not seen before (even though they have seen something similar) I agree, just let go and fall off. Don't hurt the horse for not feeling safe.
This is one of my favorite songs on the Gospel music stations
those aren't "bloopers". They are refusals, runouts, falls, and accidents. None are funny.
Depends on the view.
Someone forgot to take their Prozac this morning....
hehe some are
watchgoose She never stated it would be “Funny”. Some people who are none equestrians find it funny. Also they are depends on how you look at it, because most of them are shows.
@bobby bee I know someone who died in a riding accident and my sister knows someone else who did to. I’ve always found falls funny as long as no major damage is done. They stated at the end that no major damage was done
2:00 is at lynden fairgrounds. Ferndale ruder I believe
Nice compilation!
Who loves horses
I hope all riders and horses and pony’s are ok 👍
Most of them are jumping videos haha
Because most of the equestrian events we attend and record feature jumping. However, any of the disciplines that have speed involved or height (gaming, roping, jumping) have a higher chance for something to go wrong than just riding around in an arena (pleasure classes, dressage, etc). :) They make a better compilation of "oopses"!
Anyone one to talk about at 3:12 when the horse jumped over the 2and rail perfectly
Do not click
Who sings this song! Beautiful video!!
stop holding the reins when you know you are off. !!!!!! Grrr Pet peeve. that is all
One time I fell at the front of the horses neck like that but lucky I could still pull the reins back to stop him
I love how the pony was just nonchalant about the whole thing at 1:46 he said, "There she goes, let's go see whats over here!"
2:23 she handled that so well
It's funny, but I can understand how painful it is 😂
well these people are smart, u don’t hold on to the reins when u fall down, it could rlly hurt the horse
holy smokes yall. let go of the reins if you fall off...
Amazing! Xx
1:45 she just jumped off the horse!?!?!
Oh ya and please dont aruge I ride horses and i rewatched it and she did fall off
@@hudsonclaire7398 Ya and sometimes ur supposed to jump off if u don't feel ur gonna make it apparently
I've gone over so many heads it was mostly ponies loved m but boy they could b evil sometimes lol
Well it’s never the horses fault. Any rider could have done anything causing the horse to spook
Lol!
The white horse near the end was definitely just getting rid of his rider, and quite pleased when he accomplished it.
They’re animals with brains not machines. They do stuff wrong
Los originales de San juanasoelculo
Girl at 2:51 is kinda cute no cap
WONDERFUL TO HEAR DANNY GOKEY SINGING IN THE BACK GROUND ABOUT YOUR BLESSING COMING BACK TO YOU
Damn! So much poor horsemanship. If you fall, LET GO OF THE REINS instead of ripping the horse's mouth to shreds. I had to stop watching.
They couldn't because they need to try make the horse calm down or try and control it, also they need to get off on a safe landing.
How were the horses after these fails; were they ok?
If you watch the end of the video, 3:11 you will get your answer :)
1:56 ist mir auch mal passiert
Some of these were so relatable :P I could feel the pain when they hit the ground :/ had no idea what the girl in the red shirt on the white horse was doing tho...

Can't believe how many bridles are simply pulling off !

Agreed. There was a couple in there that were too big. The pony and trap, should have had the pony in the trap and the driver pulling it. I also didn't like the size of the awful wheel spurs that girl was sporting.👍
It honestly stresses me out so much and makes me mad about how much people hold on to the reins when they fall. Let it fucking go! (sorry if my english is bad, I'm Dutch)
Some of these riders should still be taking beginner lessons!
Remember they are bloopers for a reason.
Exactly as said as above and most of these are high level riders
stuff happens. Sometimes you just aren't having a good day or are nervous and forget how to ride for the day.
U cannot act like U have never made a mistake
The word 'Bloopers' implies a funny situation but some of these are just plain scary for both horse and rider.
TheEvilMinion As an equestrian of many years, and having fallen off many times myself. I find this hilarious, unless they’re clearly dangerous falls (And they stated in the video that everyone in the video was okay). I often laugh when I fall off too. Falling gets less scary after it happens so many times lol
As long as the horses are fine, I, personally, don't care what happens to the rider(s). Kind of makes up for steeple chasing and racing.
What a wonderful human being you are. The world is so much better for having people like you in it.
Gut Rumbles You seem like a nice guy.

Those poor horses
most of these "riders" need to learn how to ride...
mudgie paleno This is a fails video?... Have you ever messed up and do you even ride?
Said by someone who never rode a horse.....
Most of these commenters really need to realize this is a "BLOOPERS" or in other words "FAILS" video. Not just a normal riding video.
NONE of them can ride!!
These people have no right to own let alone ride horses. Training, trust and confidence makes a good team. Horse and rider both need training, time spent developing trust and in the end you have confidence.
Confidence is a strange and hard thing. Maybe take a human physiology class, an animal physiology class and talks to anyone about confine then comment agin.
Been riding all my life and under the best trainers. Which is what these riders need.
Alright, no need to brag. Oh, just because you don't mess up and have fails and falls doesn't mean you're the best rider! Every single professional or Olympic rider has fallen off at least 100 times. You can only learn from failing. And sure, you have, who taught you? Lucinda Green> Valegro? Secretariat? XD. I'm sure they have too. Also maybe step away from the horses and towards school and maybe Specsavers XD. Kids these days. Bragging selfless little biatches who don't know right from wrong. Oh, not talking about YoU obviously... Geez. I bet you don't even know a currycomb from a saddle. LMAO.
well good for you.
It's a shame those "best trainers" didn't teach you manners and how to show good sportsmanship!
One day you may find a clip of yourself riding on youtube. Hopefully people will show you more respect then you have shown here.
@@louisecrosbie1673 I agree well said!
Ellite Tang omg preeeeeeach
Have you noticed in this clip it’s the horses telling us adults that they don’t want to do what is asked of them as the chuck there riders off and go for a run and jump then they feel ok to start again and I mean this all in good laughter in the horse as riders didn’t ask there horses or ponies to do it hey 🥕🍎🍏👐🏼
Poorly trained horses and very poorly trained riders.
Velma McGlothin This is a FAILS video. So calm down Karen, not everyone can be perfect 24/7.
I love watching those horses dump those clowns .
