    I welded 1" x 1/8" straps across the front and back along with a few reinforcements on the top of my front subframe and strategic seam welding. I also added reinforcement to the rear crossmember using 1.5" straps on the bottom, rear and outer part of the LCA pickup point. Cracks on both are quite common on the EF chassis with sticky tires.
    The Honed roll center correction is a game changer. It removes so much of the snap oversteer and makes the rear of the car work entirely different. Worth the cost.

    The extended balljoint fixes Roll Center, that lowering messes up. The subframe bar did all the Caster. Both are important.
    I use smaller bars and harder springs for street and winter use, and put on bigger bars for track use with stickier tires. DA bars are a great upgrade and lighter than the stock solid one. Thats also why they stick out further because of the crimp.
    Never had interference issues with my radius rods on stock or innovative front setup tho on any of my bars.
    Good stuff man.

    If the subframe crack again, TIG welding some material around bolt holes might be a solution. Just like every drift driver do to their rear subframe.

    Great work as always! Now I want to take a look at mine lol. I did have a question about something that's off topic, are the EF sedan and hatchbacks filler neck tubes the same? The hose that connects the filler neck to the gas tank. The one I had was cracked and I want to try to find a replacement.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas

    This is the first suspention cross frame I have ever seen cracked on any Honda. What causes this. High track loads? As always your work is precise and well don't. I know of the rear honed correction pieces your talking about. I just think there's not much advantage to them and the price they are selling them for is rediculous.

    • @joelhall3646
      @joelhall3646 Год назад +2

      In a FWD car, the majority of the lateral force is transferred through the front lower control arms. On the EF, these pickup points are on the front subframe which also supports the rear engine mount and steering rack. This puts three different loads on the subframe at the same time. With most swaps, only the rear engine mount is retained thus all the engine torque is transferred through the subframe. Wider, stickier tires also increase the lateral load. These different loads concentrate at stress points which exceed the limits of the material. You can either widen the stress points by plating them, such as the rear motor mount holes or distribute the load better into the chassis by adding plating to span the crossmember which reduces the loads at the stress points. Generally a combination of both is the best option.
      Basically everything you do to make the car faster, either in the turns or straights, is asking more of the front crossmember which was designed for 100HP and 185 tread width tires.

    So, does the Innovative traction bar give you a caster adjustment? If so, I have to get one.
    Btw, Justin (that guy you rode around with, with the tan CRX) had the same issue with the radius rod rubbing his sway bar. He ad it in one of his videos. I think a innovative did a 2nd rev on those.
