greg just released a track with pennie on the drums and is something called "federal prisoner" which Dillinger was... i feel like something very fucking interesting and epic is about to go down. the track is called "fire for water"
Man this is so cool, I clearly remember that back in 2004 to nearly 2011 you can't find anything about Dillinger on the internet, only one or two videos, one of them was when Greg runs over the crowd in a gig on comercial center or something...my friends and me on a Patton's related forum usually joke about this, if you find something of them you automatically become a legend, good days! in the last years I found a lot of material uploaded in that period of time or more recently like this, what a gems are, I love your vids man, thanks for this!
Saw them later this year when they toured with Zao and Every Time I Die. I just stood there speechless for half the set. Couldn't believe they pulled that off live.
This hellfest was great. In my hometown too which made it even better. Seeing E-Town Concrete where we're from was incredible. Every band destroyed 🤘🏻sadly it was the last hellfest in the states.
I've seen them at least 3 times I think. First time with #12 Looks Like You, 2nd time with Zao and Unearth, then the 3rd time with Deftones. All 3 we're amazing shows.
i wish theyd had the idea to do a video much like this one, except 3 different sets in chronological order. Late 1990's set with Dimitri Minakakis (vocalist), 2nd set with Mike Patton (guest vocalist) and 3rd with Greg Puciato (the Puciato era before Chris Pennie Brian Benoit, Ben Weinman and Liam Wilson)
This was the best lineup they had in my opinion. Chris Pennie brought a really unique flavor on drums and Brian Benoit was awesome too. I wasn't as big of a fan of the lineup they had for Ire Works, but they were still really good.
Was introduced to the band 1st... in the back of Metal Edge or PIT or other heavy magazines my friend could afford. Saw Calculating infinity adds. Was REALLY introduced got them when they opened for DANZIG (maybe misfits?) I'd NEVER seen ANYINE do the metalcore swings with th guieetars and play SOOO HARD and sooo technical in my life!!! Then on 43% burnt... the end hits (da nana na BOOM BOOM!) Dimitri was blowing fire!!! They stole the show most def!!!! Danzig or 'guts did do an amazing show!! But ur opener is blowing gawddamn FIRE and playing sooo technical and HEAVY!!!

Serious question for guitar players: Chris Pennie is playing some of the most complicated drums and showcasing his mastery of playing in every song. The guitars don't sound that next level. What am I missing?
Anyway you can re upload this in higher quality? Maybe ask the source for the raw footage and encode it for optimal youtube quality? Either way sick footage.

RIP in power Dillinger. 1995-2017
*1997
they count 97, but the band started in 95.
greg just released a track with pennie on the drums and is something called "federal prisoner" which Dillinger was... i feel like something very fucking interesting and epic is about to go down. the track is called "fire for water"
I do love how they look like they just walked out of hollister but sound like carnal recordings of Hells inaugural realm

45:12 instead of stage diving he just oozes into the crowd
he kinda weighty, so i guess he learned his lessons before: Do not jump into the crowd. ))
Saw them later this year when they toured with Zao and Every Time I Die. I just stood there speechless for half the set. Couldn't believe they pulled that off live.
Highly doubt that since they broke up in 2017
@@ethanfischer7862 "this year," meaning the year this video was taken: 2004
Aaaand now ETID is gone. 🤬
@@ethanfischer7862yeah 3 years ago from 2020 is 2017.. highly doubt you math really well.. 🤷♂️
@@ethanfischer7862 they did indeed tour with Zao and ETID in 2004.
Chris Pennie really contributed to their original sound so much. Never was really the same for me after he left.
He is probably my all time favorite in the Hardcore\prog metal canon
Pennies has always been a monster. Everything he's ever been on is just ridiculous
Too much agree. Just sounds like the band’s entire spine
Men ok but… BILLY FCKN RYMER
@@conradbhead CP>BR
Greg is doing some sort of yelp screech thing, and I love it. Wish he still did that.
This is the only quality show I can find from 2004 in terms of audio and visuals. Looks and sounds amazing.
Hate5Six is the king of HD videos for heavy music.
if you're still looking 3 yrs later, the Lowlands 2004 show has best audio
@@saulgoodman.exe_ and an incredibly tight performance as well
too extreme for 2004
@Diego agree
Wrong.
Man this dvd would have been a major banger! Its really a shame what the venue owners did to the people at hellfest. 05' was would have been massive!
What an amazing setlist! Which I was able to see them this early on
So ahead of their time in every way
Someone seriously doing a fucking mic check during Sunshine the Werewolf?
This hellfest was great. In my hometown too which made it even better. Seeing E-Town Concrete where we're from was incredible. Every band destroyed 🤘🏻sadly it was the last hellfest in the states.
The Mullet Burden is a top 3 DEP song
I've seen them at least 3 times I think. First time with #12 Looks Like You, 2nd time with Zao and Unearth, then the 3rd time with Deftones. All 3 we're amazing shows.
I got to see them twice on this tour, Daughters and The Locust opened.
I was there, thanks for posting!!

There's a dream.
Definitely agreed. I discovered TDEP with that line up. Truly an amazing band.
I saw them some years ago and Dimitri came on stage and did Sunshine and 43%. It was NYC, I guess he lives there?
bokunotraplord dimitri came out for my seattle gig
Well, you kinda got your wish (as close as it could ever be) with their final shows in NY
2004 (the year of our lord) was truly something special
This was the best lineup they had in my opinion. Chris Pennie brought a really unique flavor on drums and Brian Benoit was awesome too. I wasn't as big of a fan of the lineup they had for Ire Works, but they were still really good.
Yes there's something special about Miss Machine era Dillinger for me as well.
How many cameras were there?? This is like live music video coverage!
when good dogs do bad things is so great
this song was released the same day I was born
which one?
is there ANY footage of 2002 Reading Festival where Greg took a shit on stage?
Don't think so
20 years ago, how do we celebrate?
just guys bein dudes
this is fucking sick thanks for the upload
This Is gold
Great uploud, just what I ordered. Shame about the barring sound of some announcer cutting in during Sunshine the Werewolf..fucking annoying lol
Oh, Chris Penne 🥰
Thank you for these... do you have The Red Chord set from HF2K4?
The Red Chord, Converge and The Dillinger Escape Plan are bands that I would have liked to see live
lil bb greg looking like he rides BMX for monster energy :P
awesome exactly what i was looking for
36:22 lmaoooooo poor chris
Pretty fuckin incredible.
The best dillinger lineup I think.
Boy, I wish I could hear Greg
one of the best bands ever
Peak Dillinger right here

What the fuck is with all the stage director audio nonsense during Sunshine? “Check one two, check one two.... check check check...”

Wow. Their new shit was even worse at the time than it has aged. What an awful band they turned into once Greg joined. Oof.
lol not awful really but i do prefer Dimitri
