I own this palette and have hooded eyes - I bought it because of how many mattes it has! Viseart is one of my faves; I think it’s a beautiful color story for summer, esp for blue eyes - if you prefer more accurate color representation on the lid to what’s in the pan, try applying a neutral eye base. Also application techniques make them look more opaque/colorful or softer.
Well, this was disappointing. I was far more attracted to this Visiart palette than the Paris Love Letter. I was attracted to the yellows and blue, too. What a disappointment to see such an underwhelming palette. There is so much potential with this color story. Thank you for another great video. I'm here for your honesty and you never disappoint in speaking the truth.
Hello there. I love those colors on you. The yellows and blue are so fresh and beautiful. I don't see why you don't like them that much? Probably because you expected them to be more bright. But nonetheless they're gorgeous on you.

Yes, it makes a beautiful soft wash of watercolor freshness on her! Delightful for spring and summer. But if it can be got from the Tropic palette more power to her. Might as well save the coins. 🌼🌊🌴
I had considered this palette cuz the colors looked so summery and pretty together. But then I looked closer and realized I had all the neutrals, and Like you said, I didn’t know what to do with the colors that popped.
I wasn’t going to buy this, but if I had, it would have been for that yellow and that blue. You showed me what I needed to see. As you said, I have other disappointing yellows from Viseart (they LOOK lemon, but they’re not) and I have the Natasha Denona “Tropic” for THAT blue (that actually shows up). You said you didn’t think you looked good today, but you looked great. You looked less great AFTER you put on the eye shadow - which is NOT why we go to the trouble!! As always, I got a real education here. THANK YOU!!!!!

Yes, they are certainly not as bright as they look in the pan. Bobbi Brown, years ago, put out a a similar pastelly palette and I had the same trouble and I felt very disappointed as her palettes , when she owned the company, used to provide excellent pay off, colour wise.😊❤️
I used to use her singles years ago...and you're right, the formula used to be much better.

I got really really teary after my 2nd shot. I think I was partly just grumpy because I didn't feel well, but also was just unused to not feeling well since quarantine has kept me from getting colds, etc. and kept kind of tearing up for no reason. So, I feel ya! Still worth it.
I don't think it was the shot, though, for me. I have to say, I heard people say they felt "foggy" after it - I felt more clarity than I had in ages. But...it's possible I was grumpy. I was sore for two days. It's not the first time a palette made me cry - lol
Yes, this is how I feel about Viseart! Can never get on board with the palettes because I don’t like the colours as I can’t make looks work with them. Thanks for trialling the hourglass lip product for us! I love Hourglass face powders - love the luminosity and all the colours always just work for me - but never tried any of their lip products. I don’t think I will until I can try on in shops. I have to say though, you always look stunning regardless of your make up! In good news, LE make up is coming out next week! 😁😁😁 SO looking forward to your review on those!
I can't wait to try LE's new releases. I'm so fussy about highlighters, but I know I can count on her making something that's real and wearable and beautiful!!
@@TheHoodedLid Same! The only highlighter I like is the Pat McGrath highlighter and balm duo. But if anyone can do it Lisa can!
Bummer about the blue/yellow being so muted. The blue/orange looks gorgeous in the pan, but I’m with you on the oranges. I just ordered the Koh Gen Do 4 Look Mineral Eye Shadow Palette because it’s the first one I’ve looked at in a long time and thought “I will actually use every color!” But you’ve got me jonesing for a good, buttery yellow now.
I think I may be a little obsessed with yellow since it's so rarely used in palettes!
I really love watching your reviews, even if I’ve no intention of buying the products you road test. I just can’t bring myself to buy yellow eyeshadow, I just don’t like it. I’ve had a hard enough time trying to incorporate some blue lately as it used to bring back the 80s and hideous blue from that era to my mind. It’s growing on me in the right shades though. Talking about blue.... trusty mirror has had a makeover too? 💙
Yes, I re-taped my mirror! I know what you mean about blue - it can look very 70's if used wrong.

Thank you for this video - and the honest assessments. So unfortunate that you’re unhappy with the palette and the lippies. I fear that Viseart may be at a crossroads as many MUA brands are finding themselves as a result of the pandemic. I have a few minis and one 9-pan and I never use them. The satin shades emphasize my crepey hoods and the metallics fade too fast. I do love Viseart’s matte shades, and I would gladly buy individual matte shades if that were possible (I am not keen on the shade selection of the brand’s all matte palettes). With respect to Hourglass, the shine seems to be wearing off with more misses than hits. It’s a fickle market.
When I think about it, HG hasn't done anything for me in a long time. It was their powders that really stood out for me - but their annual LE release of a powder palette never worked for me, they're always too dark for my skin tone/taste. Viseart, there smaller palettes (like Chou Chou) are so much better than the mid-size offerings).
What shade was the Hourglass lip cream, please?

Honestly I have been disappointed in Viseart. The neutral mattes are good but not great. Based on some of the comments here I am guessing that is because it is not the original formula. I gave Sultry Muse away. Don’t think I will buy anymore of their products.
I feel close to the same - the next offering really has to knock my socks off!

No...I was think about Lemon-Tones - it sounds like a harmony group in the early 60's. I retaped my mirror. Yes, Viseart creative direction is lost.

Yes I hear you. Viseart is a really mixed bag. I love their mattes but most of them are warmer than I’d like and their cool matte palettes don’t get stellar reviews so I haven’t purchased them. I don’t buy any of the new palettes because I firmly believe after buying some and reading about others that the formulas just haven’t been as good as the formula in the Sultry Muse and Paris nudes palettes. I also loved the formula in the Theory palettes. But you can take all of the others. IMO, the satins I’ve tried in the petit pros etc etc aren’t nearly as good as in the Sultry muse and Paris nudes palettes. So you’re brave to keep trying. I feel like have their best and I give up on the rest.
If find their cool palettes are almost too cool. I think I'm giving up on this brand.
yeah, that was a struggle and to my mind not worth it. my eye shape is almost exactly like yours and i would have thought that palette *should* work - i have bh cosmetics palettes with yellows and blues that work so much better on my eyes than this palette would.
I just ordered a colourpop yellow crayon that might hit my yellow craving...we'll see!
