If you are a faith build going trough the area right before him you can get a Multilayered Ring of Light spell from a misbegotten leonine, which absolutely annihilates this boss. After the base game I was pleasantly surprised that holy damage in general was quite good in the DLC.
The delayed attacks were really throwing me off. This is honestly the first boss I found to be too janky for me to adapt easily to. That and spirit summons get absolutely throttled by him.
Base Game Radahn set, blasphemous blade +10, Silver Mirrorshield +9, Staleart Horn +2, Mottled Necklace +2, Dragoncrest Shield Talisman, Spelldrake +3. This all won the fight for me.
This boss is weak to strike damage and probably also has low poise. I was struggling for a while until I switched to a great hammer with lion's claw. There is also a minor attack that he doesn't often do in which if you stand behind him he'll fastly turn around like he is slippering and then fastly attack with his axe, of course it's not that necessary since it doesn't deal too much damage if it hits you but he doesn't do that often so don't worry about it

He was a headache when I first encountered him but pest threads actually came in handy there, they swerve fast enough to catch him on most occasions and he's big enough to take a beating from their repeated hits. Glad to know you can jump the fire, though. Didn't know that during those fights, I could dodge two but not all three waves.
I used the black knight twinblade with crucible wings and a greatshield. Guard counters punish his regular attacks and wing skill will float over his blue flames and close distance after his wombo combo. I wouldn’t call it easy but felt fun and balanced.
Gargoyle's Black blade is the way to go. Ive got it +8 and the special attack does massive damage. The jumping over the frost really saved my butt though. Thanks for the tips 👍
This entire DLC feels basically designed for shield players, having a sensible blessing level for each section and any shield with moderate guard boost makes most fights pretty chill. Anyways he just stayed there with normal enemy hp and I killed him in 2 combos. So is he sacred of death night assassin or did he just give up on killing me?
Just use Multilayered Ring of Light incantation, you literally get it before this fight from the lion head spirit defending the grace before this fight. It’s hands down one of the best incantations, I 3-4 shot him that I was actually shocked
Bayle was the first boss i used magic to fight in any souls game, i got Scalett Aeonia for the dragon because i havent defeated Bayle yet, i switched to this guy dodging him isnt hard, but somehow most of my attacks didnt land on him despite being right next to him, the hitbox is comically stupid it was so frutrasting, i just blew the bastard up with Scarlett Aeonia and dodging the whole fight, waiting the bastard to melt, easy victory
One of my favorite bosses in the DLC. Some fun moves that are satisfying to dodge, nothing too crazy and you can figure them out pretty quickly, and some nice openings for even the heaviest of weapons to get some damage in. I'd rank him up there with Messmer. Much better than Rellana who basically gives you no opportunity to safely hit her.
I’m telling yall rn, use the Elden beast sword, I have it +9 and used the golden wave ability with the sword, and I was doing over 5000 damage along with mimic tear. The fight was extremely easy

Sick dude thanks for the spoiler
Sacred relic sword did absolute WONDERS here. First tried the bone daddy
Sooo...I went and fought this guy a couple times to get my orphan of kos ptsd back up...but after he killed me about 9 times I unord down to solo him. I summoned tiche as soon as I got down there and he hid in his cave.
When I approached he stayed there and his horse cried and someone sounded like they were talking?
Anyways he just stayed there with normal enemy hp and I killed him in 2 combos. So is he sacred of death night assassin or did he just give up on killing me?
Just use Multilayered Ring of Light incantation, you literally get it before this fight from the lion head spirit defending the grace before this fight. It’s hands down one of the best incantations, I 3-4 shot him that I was actually shocked
Bayle was the first boss i used magic to fight in any souls game, i got Scalett Aeonia for the dragon
because i havent defeated Bayle yet, i switched to this guy
dodging him isnt hard, but somehow most of my attacks didnt land on him despite being right next to him, the hitbox is comically stupid
it was so frutrasting, i just blew the bastard up with Scarlett Aeonia and dodging the whole fight, waiting the bastard to melt, easy victory
Question about this boss, is it undead?
It's weak to holy damage and I wonder if the Last Rites buff will do extra damage
One of my favorite bosses in the DLC.
Some fun moves that are satisfying to dodge, nothing too crazy and you can figure them out pretty quickly, and some nice openings for even the heaviest of weapons to get some damage in. I'd rank him up there with Messmer.
Much better than Rellana who basically gives you no opportunity to safely hit her.
knew he was easy was just dying to the flames jumping really helps !! did 3rd try
It’s those fucking frost flames that get me
Bloodborne players are experiencing PTSD from the orphan of Kos
I was so hilariously overleveled I felt bad. I beat him first try and annihilated his health bar.
This did not help at all. Why does he get a horse that moves at these speeds while my summons stand on corners scratching their balls
So you have to have range? I’m using a low int build
I had to become a tank, Fingerprint Shield and a Holy Infused Long Spear
I’m telling yall rn, use the Elden beast sword, I have it +9 and used the golden wave ability with the sword, and I was doing over 5000 damage along with mimic tear. The fight was extremely easy
personally have found like 2 boss fights to be fun. they all spam moves as soon as you walk in and only have a 3 second attack window. scadutree blessings feel like a scam cause what level am i supposed to be fighting all of these mfs ?
Went from getting stomped and only dealing like 800-900dmg (and zero bleed proc) with my sword lance to defeating him first try with my holy grease infused giant crusher that somehow was dealing around 2333dmg per hit lmao... Almost did it no hit but he got me a couple times in the second phase.
Man it was the blue flames for me. You can't outrun it and it always gets the last hit
Ive done that god damn tree avater scudutree thing with 3 lives so this should be a peicd of cake.
