I love that Ner'Zul actually at some point doubted the way he was force to take he still had his own free mind to work with so the part where he went to ask the guidence of the spirits of the mountain and at that momment he realising that he did wrong was a very good character development
+RighteousNicky Yeah but at the same time it is a vague one since they cannot chance W1and W2 from happening. Like after relising that they never mention of Ner'zhul till second war and it is kinda disappointing not giving him any chance to fight back.
awsome video!! love the stoory of Ner'Zhul since i first witnissed him in WC3 x3 i would like to see a series of videos from you explaining the warcraft lore up until end of BC, and the beginning of Wotlk :D
Thank you for doing this for the community Nobbel. Many people love the game but don't know what they're plsying, if that makes sense. I am one of these people sometimes. So thank you for opening the lore for all of us to enjoy.
Wow Nobbel! This is your best video yet. The settings, animations, partial videos showed are all on point. I love the usage of the ingame models to set the stage as it brings familar faces for us to bind the story together. I really look forward to the next part of this story. Keep up the good work, and I hope that next time you will be able to find the model for Teron Gorefiend as he was used in the Black Temple. It was a little weird seeing an orc in Tier armor standing in for Teron. Anyways once again, awesome work! Keep it up! :D
Also Thrall reminds me of like che Guevara meets crazy horse with a bit of Luke skywalker thrown in. He’s one of the more fascinating characters to me. Also kel’thuzad- Alfred pennyworth in its own twisted little way lol
Ner'zhul is the only orc I can really say I like, but I REALLY like him! Also obviously you couldn't have known this when you wrote this episode, but the Scepter of Sargeras that he used to open the portals is the Destruction Warlock Artifact!
+Miojo com Salsicha tipo Viena He certainly did what he believed to be the right thing to do, but he is still a blazing dumbass for not seeing he was being manipulated.
by far the best lore channel ever (reguardless of topic imo) can't stop watching.. its taking priority over playing WoD the best xpac ever made! (joke) keep up the good vids!
First when I saw the title I thought: wait wasn't there supposed to be the story of the Lich King? But then I started to listen!! Keep up the great work. This story will undoubtedly be your best yet!!
Hi Nobbel! Do you think you could do a lore video concerning the artifacts in legion. Like a short lore story of each artifact since alot of them are really involved in lore, espiecially the lightbringer and doomhammer. Great vids keep it up!
One of the best Orc/warcraft characters period, I really admire how hard it is to tell the diffrence between if Nerzhul was truly evil, or merely a puppet of a force greater than himself.
+Xalted118 fel magic brings drought and wastelandish terrains to world. What you are talking about Shattering of the Dreanor.(which turned dreanor to outland) Different things you will see that on the next video.
thank you bc the lich king is like my favorite lore point in all of warcraft lore but the only thing i can think about when you say rulkan is how much i wish i could roll my r's. ////envy
Nice job Nobbel!!! Maybe you could make complete stories of all the races and the classes? Of course thats a lot of work, but over time it could be a thing! Or maybe a video about the different religions, because most people only know the Church of the Holy Light and thats a real shame
Just noticed some parallels between this universe and other media: Arthas-Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader Ner’Zhul-Darth plagueis/Darth sidious Medhivh the last guardian-obi wan kenobi/Gandalf the white Gul’dan-Saruman Archimonde/Kil’Jaeden-Halbrand and Sauron Pit lords-Balrogs Malfurion and Illidan Stormrage-Mufasa/Scar and Thor/Loki Azshara-Potema the wolf queen-Hella, goddess of death Sargeras-Chronos/Saturn/Morgoth That’s just off the top of my head lol
Nobbel, I'm not sure if you take requests, but I'm sure everyone would be appreciative towards you if you gave us a lore video of everything about the time before and leading up to the first war in anticipation for the Warcraft movie.
+Amusedcory He pretty much told everything on this video. If you are talking about the war itself it is a different story but this is pretty much everything that lead orcs to invasion of Azeroth. On Azeroth side you can check Medivh's(guardians) story after the opeenning of portal that is pretty much the war itself. On Movie though they will shit loads on this lore so he cant tell you anything about it before seeing the whole movie. Nearly everthing is fucked up if its gonna be like on the trailer.
The things that make me sad about Warcraft is when normal, peaceful characters who simply live their lives end up in a huge net of events that ends up connecting them and at the end sealing their tragic fates which will lead to other characters ending up with sad and tragic fates.
Ey nobbel will you do a sort of reaction or first look on the warcraft trailer? I want to know what you think is going on and what will happen! Love you videos, keep doing the work of god!
Could to do a video/ give a link (incase I've missed it) on certain instance such as Ulduar explaining the lore behind it. & is Yogg-seron dead? btw you're videos are really awesome as they explain & cover the story well. thanks
Hey Nobbel, love your lore videos a lot, been watching them for a few years now and every time you upload a lengthy one like this I get a bit excited, keep up the good work. I wanted to ask you of the origin of the trolls. I know that they and the night elves are the oldest races on Azeroth, and i was wondering how they came to be. And if you have the time, could you please tell us something about the tauren as well? Their origin, the age of their race and where they came from. Thank you in advance :)
what i dont understand is why if the shamans were so close to the elements and their ancestors, that there was no way either entities made an effort to warn ner'zhul of kiljaeden's deception beforehand. besides "reasons" of course, plot and whatnot. but i think it sucks that he thought he was doing the right thing and there was no help from either of his people's ancestors until it was too late. Rest in Pieces Ner'zhul (Pun).
Nobbel now that we know what happen to tyr will you make another video on that matter? ''Tyr sacrificed his life to fight the creatures while his comrades escaped with the discs. His hammer was lost with him somewhere beneath the land now named in his honor: Tirisfal.''
1) Warcraft 2 (ToD and BtDP): Death Knight *(Human Knight corpse + Orc Warlock soul)* ; 2) Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne: The Lich King *(soul of Orc Elder Shaman + Human ex-Paladin Death Knight)* .
what i don't understand is, if the dreanei knew about some of the orcs being corrupted by kiljadean, why didn't he/they (Velen or the dreanei) relay this info to the alliance? this would have given alliance sympathy to the horde, it could've also split the horde up to the corrupted horde and the non corrupted horde that sided with the alliance. Also, it would have made the alliance and horde alike to hate the dreanei since they brought destruction to both the orc and human worlds. This wouldve dramatically changed the story and the game! It would've been everyone vs dreanei or everyone vs legion (which is the next expansion) Ps. just started the novels, read first 2. glad i can follow along now :)
So Ner'Zul aka The Lich King one of the greatest evils of Azeroth, the one who is responsible for corrupting the orcs is the reason Orgrim and Durotan didn't drink demon blood? And we wouldn't have the New Horde if it wasn't for that?
+tzikas9 "the one who is responsible for corrupting the orcs" is a bit of strecth. "the one who is responsible for uniting the orcs" is the correct way to go. Ner'zhul only motive is ensuring survival of his people to the point when he need to be villified to not throw W2 lore out of window completely. His motive as LK has nothing to do with Azeroth btw he only works against Legion.(through evil acts thats for sure)
Hey nobble Big fan, I got a question about what kind of artifacts that Ner'zul sent the horde (grom/kargath) to collect and did they succeeded in getting them. as legion artifacts some are new to the lore can it be that Ner'zul was after them also??thanks, keep up the good work
Hey Nobbel! Big fan, but I have a couple questions regarding Ner'zhul. In Alternate Draenor we see Ner'zhul as another pawn of Gul'dan and the Burning Legion. If the first thing that is different from our timeline and alternate timeline is that the Orcs never drank the blood of Mannoroth, why is Ner'zhul on Gul'dan's side? Wouldn't he know by then that the Burning Legion were behind it all and that his ancestors despise him? And if Rulkan is alive in alternate Draenor, how did Kil'jaeden contact and infiltrate the Orcs?
Any lore on Sergeant Crowler? anything close to Mr.Crowley? Mr. Crowley, what went on in your head? Oh, Mr. Crowley, did you talk to the dead? Your life style to me seemed so tragic. Ozzy Osbourne song
Nobbel, do you ever get tired of repeating yourself? So much of the lore goes back to the same couple of events. It must be frustrating to have to repeat yourself a lot.
Hey Nobbel! I wonder what you thought about the retreat of the orcs when gul'dan betrayed them and cost them the siege of lordaeron, do you think there are any factors maybe from the zone itself which caused the orcs to leave hastily? the forest has always been cursed and the only people able to permanently settle have been the undead and there is speculation about a mysterious perhaps old god influence at play. Would Orgrim Doomhammer and his people truly sacrifice a war solely for honor or were other unseen influences maybe at play?? imagine if the orcs had won and settled and they had instead been the ones inflicted by the plague
+Cody Moore You don't need to overthink that. They were sieging Lorderon for a while at that point and Orgrim had to sacrifice forces after Gul'dan's betrayel, there was no way they were winning that siege with absence of forces so they had to retreat.
Hey Nobbel I was wondering if you could explain to me about Balance Druids. There is one thing that never made sense to me lore wise and that was why do Druids have abilities that belong to the Moon Priestesses of Elune. When I first started WoW in vanilla I rolled a Druid I found weird that they had Lunar and Star powers which should belong to the priestesses of Elune. I remember in Warcraft 3 none of the Druids had Lunar or Star base abilities. What I recall was that they could only Shapeshift into animals, control stroms, summon the forces of Flora and Heal with green energy. Could you please help explain this to me I would really love to hear your explanation.
+JDtheDyslexic The easy answer is they wanted druids to cover ranged caster dps slot so they conjured something called Moonkin to lore. While it leaves a lot open for the lore sides of thing you can say they learned that spells from studying Moonkins. It is much of a gameplay thing more than lore thing as long as I know like the s.priest lore. It is simply there because it is needed.
What about Bolvar? I find his story very confusing, I mean does he just sit there in the frozen throne? Does he make the undead do the thriller dance from time to time? Is he alive? Undead? Will we ever see him appear again?
Hey nobbel, This is just a little bit on topic but this is a question i've been wondering for awhile... In the Isle of Quel'danas, Why is there "The Dead Scar" as what it say's in game?
+ShadowHawk657 Because the scourge marched through there to get to the sunwell. Then Arthas used sunwell to get Kelthuzad ressurected. If you follow the "The Dead Scar" it will lead you to plaguelands with loads of undead mob on it.
Aren't the Shadowmoon Shamans the closest thing Orcs had to Priests, or rather: weren't the Shadowmoon Shamans "Shamanpriests". I could be wrong, but calling Ner'zhul nothing more than a Shaman sounds kind of like an understatement. But then again, I could've interpreted the Shadowmoons traditions in a wrong way
I might just be a dummy, but my brain still can't comprehend the Ner'Zhul/Arthas binding to make the Lich King. So is the Lich King a binding of Arthas' and Ner'Zhul's souls in one? Or is Ner'Zhul's soul just in the helmet which corrupts Arthas? Are the two just one now? Well, was. And that being said, is Ner'Zhul now part of Barion Fordring? I'm so confused.
I have a question for you guys. In a Shaman fight between Thrall The Ex-Warchief vs Ner-Zhul the Shaman of all Shaman, who would win? And i would like good facts and not positioned opinions, Ner-Zhul was awesome, he was just misleaded
Nobbel, i want to know what happened after Garrosh convinced Grommash to build the Iron Horde. How they convinced the other chieftains etc. Is there any information about that?
+Ahmet Wepaogly That is a fair question. I can give a short answer for that which goes like --> "Orgrim Doomhammer". The point is Orcs are not like being deceived and if you show them a more honorable motive they can easily follow you.
to sum Ner'Zul up. He fucked with kil'jaden and got turned into a piece of armor
Indeed haha
+splinte111 At least he got turned into a cool piece of armour
+splinte111 Ya don't fuck up with the Deceiver, brah!
+splinte111 They say that you soil yourself in the moment of your death. Does this mean that Arthas literally crapped on Ner'Zul when he died?
+The Hungry Wolf 足柄 He was already dead, so he had no digestive functions to speak off.
I love that Ner'Zul actually at some point doubted the way he was force to take he still had his own free mind to work with so the part where he went to ask the guidence of the spirits of the mountain and at that momment he realising that he did wrong was a very good character development
+RighteousNicky
Yeah but at the same time it is a vague one since they cannot chance W1and W2 from happening. Like after relising that they never mention of Ner'zhul till second war and it is kinda disappointing not giving him any chance to fight back.
15:03 Thats some high class editing Nobbel ;)
Digginf up dinosaurs here but... : thats some of that 10 years of post university study type editing right there!

i would like to see a series of videos from you explaining the warcraft lore up until end of BC, and the beginning of Wotlk :D

9:21 Durotans face... im going to have nightmares from that!
it's actually the only proper way to tell the lich king story, by splitting it into two ner'zhul and arthas parts
You've really outdone yourself on this one! Good Work! :)
Ner'zhul is the only orc I can really say I like, but I REALLY like him!
Also obviously you couldn't have known this when you wrote this episode, but the Scepter of Sargeras that he used to open the portals is the Destruction Warlock Artifact!

+Daan Elfring Without Ner'zhul there'd be no Lich King.
+Luis Bonano (TyberZann8) thats like saying their would be no Ner'zhul without Ner'zhul
I Am Groot Not really. The Lich King is a title of sorts, Arthas was also the Lich King, but he was not Ner'zhul.
Luis Bonano didnt they merge? so technically they were one making the lich king?
+I Am Groot Arthas destroyed Ner'zhul's spirit between WC3 and Wrath, so in Wrath it was only Arthas.
Hi Nobbel! Do you think you could do a lore video concerning the artifacts in legion. Like a short lore story of each artifact since alot of them are really involved in lore, espiecially the lightbringer and doomhammer.
Great vids keep it up!
Once again, you just made my day Nob.
You Should do the story of Leeroy Jenkins.
+Michael Rupp Very good suggestion
Why.... All it is is a persom from a guild screaming his name killing himself. There, nobbel 87 2 right here
+Michael Rupp Just look up the Leeroy video xD thats how Leeroy Jenkins became a thing
+Michael Rupp
"All right let's do this LEEROOOYY...JENKIIIIIIIIINNSS!!"
"Guys, he went in."
"Oh shit go go go"
"WTF"
+Luis Bonano (TyberZann8) "Leeroy, you are stupid as hell..." "at least I have chicken"
One of the best Orc/warcraft characters period, I really admire how hard it is to tell the diffrence between if Nerzhul was truly evil, or merely a puppet of a force greater than himself.
+Rek Sauce Evil? Why would he be evil? He did nothing wrong.
+Rek Sauce Arthas and Ner'zhul are the true heroes of Azeroth and Draenor.
Lol nobbel, i was clutching my rise of the horse book in my hand while listening
+Xantog For the Horse!! JK XD
SharkAndDog no lol oops
+Xantog There's a T-shirt in that...
I'm pretty sure it was Ner'Zhul and him opening portals everywhere that broke the world and not the war.
+Xalted118
fel magic brings drought and wastelandish terrains to world. What you are talking about Shattering of the Dreanor.(which turned dreanor to outland) Different things you will see that on the next video.
I KNEW IT NOBBEL! I KNEW IT WASN'T ABOUT ARTHAS!
+marcos tsuna it isn't about arthas... yet...
read the description.
Thanks for uploading this!
Nobbel, your vídeos have an excellent quality. Keep it up, man. :)
Very good content! I love to listen these stories and hope for more!✌️😊
YEAH BOY! LICH KING FTW. Keep up the good work nobbell
Do the story of Emperor Shaohao.
yes!!! Pandaria lore please!!
+Avercy Omg no! Although i think that he has done that
I'm sorry for being rude, but both people that wanted panda lore were asian.
+StoneGamer I'm white, but way to be a racist fuck.
+L Takara No one should be offended. Its just a panda.
Nobbel87 what is your reaction with the Warcraft movie trailer?
+Thinh Vo Or the Legion cinematic.
+Thinh Vo Nerzhul is in the movie. i saw him in the trailer :D
malonze10 Probably random Shaman than Nerzhul.
Thinh Vo ..... dude he had a skull mask. and blue energy all around him. im fairly sure it was nerzhul
+malonze10 are you sure that wasn't Gul'Dan that looked more like Gul'Dan
Hey I was wondering if you had done a video on how the horde came together, how the trolls joined with the orcs, the forsaken, etc.!
+cXWumbonessX
Just play W3 or watch him play that.
Hope you've had a great holiday)We've missed you,Prophet.
Holy shit you are the best animator in WoW History 15:01
I love that clip ;D
I genuinely was about to sleep, Sake Nobbel hahahaha
Great job on the story bro!
cheers mate i had forgotten this!!!!
And looking at Warlords specifically: How is Gul'dan still Ner'zhuls apprentice, when he's like 300 000 years older?
Both are alternate timeline versions
The chaos always starts with the lost love of a women.
Daaamn noble these editing skills
Thanks for setting this up.
this story would make a great flashback for the movie leading to an end credit cene showing the lich king
thank you bc the lich king is like my favorite lore point in all of warcraft lore but the only thing i can think about when you say rulkan is how much i wish i could roll my r's. ////envy

Arthas-Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Ner’Zhul-Darth plagueis/Darth sidious
Medhivh the last guardian-obi wan kenobi/Gandalf the white
Gul’dan-Saruman
Archimonde/Kil’Jaeden-Halbrand and Sauron
Pit lords-Balrogs
Malfurion and Illidan Stormrage-Mufasa/Scar and Thor/Loki
Azshara-Potema the wolf queen-Hella, goddess of death
Sargeras-Chronos/Saturn/Morgoth
That’s just off the top of my head lol

Best wow lore channel.
Jesus this guy have voice like all of the Draenei's ;__; good for u man, you can tell us history of Draenei as one of them :D
I love that this guy goes to all this trouble to pronounce the draeni language and names, but then says, "Arfus" 😂

hey nobbel when are you going to publish the video about the legion cinamtic and all the new lore stuff btw keep up the good work
Ner'zhul is, in my opinion, a cooler and more tragic character than Arthas ever was.
Here comes the hate...

Nobbel, what is your option on legions cinematic trailer? I personally like it a lot.
Nobble should do some readings online :D
1) Warcraft 2 (ToD and BtDP): Death Knight
*(Human Knight corpse + Orc Warlock soul)* ;
2) Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne:
The Lich King
*(soul of Orc Elder Shaman + Human ex-Paladin Death Knight)* .
Please do a lore video on Kel'thuzad
Nobbel can you do a breakdown of both the trailer and cinematic. Tnx bud
Yo are you gona make a video about the Warcraft movie trailer? Wana know your opinion on it, thanks

im really looking forward to a reaction video on the artifact weapon origin and lore

the "primary" reality of Ner'Zul was soo much better than the WoD one, kind of a wasted potential
I do not doubt anything that Ner'zhul still manages to return in some way.
For black magic, or in this case, Vil, almost everything is possible.
Any lore on Sergeant Crowler? anything close to Mr.Crowley?

Hey nobbel, have you seen the discription on the holy paladin weapon? It says what happened to Tyr
i love ner'zhul best warlord wish he got more in Wod
What about Bolvar? I find his story very confusing, I mean does he just sit there in the frozen throne? Does he make the undead do the thriller dance from time to time? Is he alive? Undead? Will we ever see him appear again?
+Toma M
Nobody knows. He is just doing his classic Placeholder routine.
can you make a full video about thrall?
+Or Mandelik
After he turned into Moses I think nobody can do that. He is a part of a religion now :P

Hey nobbel, This is just a little bit on topic but this is a question i've been wondering for awhile... In the Isle of Quel'danas, Why is there "The Dead Scar" as what it say's in game?
+ShadowHawk657
Because the scourge marched through there to get to the sunwell. Then Arthas used sunwell to get Kelthuzad ressurected. If you follow the "The Dead Scar" it will lead you to plaguelands with loads of undead mob on it.
YES LICH KING STORY SOON
That mountain! 15:04 xD
And i would like good facts and not positioned opinions, Ner-Zhul was awesome, he was just misleaded
is there any lore on the skulls that gul'dan carry around ?
think if KJ didn't change plans burning legion would have one and beat every one. That little tactic bit him in ass.
Nobbel, i want to know what happened after Garrosh convinced Grommash to build the Iron Horde. How they convinced the other chieftains etc. Is there any information about that?
+Ahmet Wepaogly
That is a fair question. I can give a short answer for that which goes like --> "Orgrim Doomhammer". The point is Orcs are not like being deceived and if you show them a more honorable motive they can easily follow you.
Wouldn't it be cool to have Warcraft 3 gameplay style with capture/destroy everything with WoW graphics and models in a game.
I hate how modern wow has pretty much destroyed and even forgotten about Ner'zhuls lore
