  • The wheel bearing was so noisy and so far gone that the rear sliding door caught the wheel.
    I do love the Nissan elgrand for the family though and so far working on it has been a doddle
    So just a quick video to show how easy it is.

    great video, and really appreciate that you still reply to people after all this time!
    one Question though, it kinda looked like you still had the lower arms attached? I'm struggling to even get an offset spanner into the bolts, let alone a socket because the axle bulb is in the way.. is that just an angle thing on the vid? do you trhink you would have taken the lower arms off to swing out the hub?

      Cheers man. I’m actually disappointed in myself on how I could have shown more. But this was early days.
      But, no I left the arms attached. What you see in the video is all I did. I think the socket I had is quite a thin walled socket .

    I have the e50 Elgrand. And I love the dam thing.
    Great cars. But total bastard to get parts for in Australia.
    And I've had to replace a few things on it now. Lol
    Good work though. Look Fawad to swing more.

      Not many E50's around. Heaps of parts for the E51, including pads and rotors off the shelf at most parts stores including supercheap.

      The brake disc rotor? Nah just remember to take the handbrake off with the vehicle chocked and on stands and it came off fine.

    Hi mate great job!Just a quick question as i couldn't see in the video...What size socket did u use to take the bolt of from the wheel bearing hub? And was a deep socket?I am struggling to find the socket size cheers.

      On the rear? It will have been a 14mm. I had various extensions so I could put the socket in a decent place, but the socket wasn’t deep.

    Hi, your part is not for Elgrand. You bought the Nissan OEM :43202-CA000 for E51. Is it all good?

      Yeah worked perfectly mate. I’m not sure about why that number shows something else though

    Hello mate. Do you remember what size socket for the axle nut.

    • @InitialB
      @InitialB  Месяц назад

      Sorry I don’t, Will be a 27,28 or 32. I know that’s not much help though sorry.

      32mm for the E51 rear, need a deep one, but didnt need Extra deep. Going through it myself right now! seen a few methods for locking the axle in place while you turn it, but for me, putting the disc back on, then the caliper and using a screwdriver in the middle of the disc helped a lot..

    Can you fit 350z Brembo calipers to the Elgrand?

    • @InitialB
      @InitialB  Год назад +1

      I’ve heard it’s the 370z calipers that fit. I couldn’t say about the 350 sorry

      Ah man, that’s rough, really though if you get your tank drained, and lines cleared you should be able to reset the ecu by unplugging it for 30 min and then try again

    Those hub bolts should definately of had thread lock on them.

      @@InitialB I'm a mechanic and would never change a hub assembly without using Blue lock thread when reinstalling, don't worry to much about torque specs on that setup just FT them all :) it's either had a hub before and they never used LT or the OEM bolts sometime have a clear coating LT applied thinly that isn't that noticable, I'm surprised you never got new bolts also with the hub kit?
