Cmdr Mechan..... this is awesome! The rotating of fire groups during combat, synthesizing during the fight, FA off, using landing gear to slow yourself down, and sniping those hearts. This is truly an art you've appeared to have mastered 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 o7 cmdr

More specifically, hitting unexerted hearts “deletes” the breach damage portion of your damage - exactly 50% for gauss, even more than that for shards, and a little less than that for plasma chargers
I'd be happy to survive long enough against on of those things to expose the first heart, and that's in my engineered Krait! There aren't enough o7's for this, Cmdr!

Main issue is none of the in-game ranks challenge you to improve your flying skills … it’s just kill lame NPCs over and over and over again doing the same repetitive thing and voila - you are now combat elite. That’s why we rather have skill-based ranks in the AXI Discord.

Oh I've done plenty of unengineered Hydras - in fact I have done the FIRST unengineered Hydra kill (in a Chieftain) a LONG time ago. Sadly, the Eagle Mk2 specifically isn't able to do this fight without engineering.
Repair limpets. You can check the raw footage of the fight if you'd like - it's linked in the video description. The ship build is also linked in the video description. The Eagle only has 610 hull hitpoints. It repairs very quickly.
Pretty slick piloting. Popping the landing gear open to control your speed reminds me of downshifting a manual stickshift in a vehicle to prevent sliding on ice. I don't think I can beat you in a dogfight, but I would love to try

Eagle (and it’s imperial sibling) flies in such a unique way. Now back into a Challenger (an agile ship by most standards) and man it feels like I’m flying a space truck in comparison.
@Astyrrean don't get me wrong (like some of the easily exited kids here), I think it's an even bigger demonstration of skill and stamina with an eagle with cargo and a repair limpit controller and likely AFMU, that must have been a paper eagle 😉. How long does your macro for the fire group cycling and heatsink mania hold up before you need to synthesize? Only 4 heatsinks in the eagle. There's a lot of ways to die in this constellation, kudos. I really prefer bigger sticks for that task 💥💣

The ship has 610hp, and carries 4 repair limpets - each of which repairs up to 180hp with a Class 3 controller (plus I believe I synthesized an additional 4 at some point during the run.) The ship had TWO 1A AFMUs - due to paranoia of accidentally losing a single one to damage (two can repair each other - a single one, if lost, means no more module repair ability.) You need to start synthesizing heatsinks every 22 seconds to realistically survive - even a single stray shot from the swarm will break synthesis .. and you die. With a 22-second cycle you get a single "second chance" - if your first synthesis fails, you get a second one and, if that works, you can keep going. If your second synth fails, you die. The "Sirius" pre-engineered heatsinks allow you carry 5, which actually helps a lot on this build.

How are you repairing your ship? At the end of each heart, the ship is damaged but at the beginning of each you’re at 100%. Am i missing something?
