This is from the original stereo reel tape montage that got played at 5.55am on the Studer Revox reel-to-reel tape machine by the on air early presenter.
@@johngreen8080 BBC Radio 1 probably didn't have any 5 minute duration NAB tape carts to put it on even though you could get them. Pirate radio station Radio Nova in Ireland on various AM frequencies over its life i.e. 738 / 828 / 819 and 846 kHz MW and easily picked up in North West England and as far as West Yorkshire, used NAB tape carts for records and blank cassettes / reel to reel tape for regular pop music meganixes in the studio that were regularly played out on-air.
Remember it well. The early DI played it every morning and then went into GTS at the end to start the programme. There's a video on RUclips of Adrian John doing it.
@@paulowen9271 Thanks Paul. I should have known that!!! Yes the pips were played over the last jingle. Was the last jingle on the end of the montage or on a cart in the cart machine? I watched Adrian's video, and it looks like the left cart was running, and his DJ cart was in the middle cart player?
@@Snapdragon4472 Yes I agree the last jingle was on a cart. It makes sense they’d do it that way in case the timings were slightly off, they could just fade out the montage.
The instrumental music in between the jingles is produced by JAM Creative Productions the company who produced the jingles. So is not commercially available. Hope this helps.

So much more fun ..
Love the bed between 1.00 and 1.30. Anyone know if it is part of a bigger instrumental section?
