After several James Hoffman videos, RUclips suggested your channel. Very nice coffee set up! Personally, I have an older coffee pot, older espresso/cappuccino machine & recently gifted French Press. Learning different ways to still get good coffee from my older products.
You know I appreciate about you! I asked about your setup which I’m sure others did and you so kindly decided to show it and I love you for that!!
Had a Rocky grinder for years. Dependable and durable. It is a little slow and loud, and a pain to clean, but it gets the job done. The Silvia is a near icon in the home espresso world. Great video.
🤣
I don't have this machine but I also have a rocky. Mine is 40 years old though and still works like a charm. It's not on demand but with a storage part in the front that you can also use to dose in like 6-7g portions. But honestly it's built like a tank and if the new ones are also the same quality it's a great investment.
me: "yesss definitely gonna preorder this!!" *clicks link, clicks preorder, sees price* "YESSSS go Morgan! You got this for free to promote?! Get that bag!!" *waves goodbye to espresso machine and clicks the X on the tab*
Omg big same. Aiming for a breville it is.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I honestly suspect a BES920 would meet most hobbyist's needs more fully - oh, and it's a third the price...
@@AlasdairMcLellan will it be going strong after 10years though?
@@hcr32slider I'll let you know when my 900 gets there I suppose but it's at 7 and showing no signs of giving up?
I just want to say you are a hidden gem in a sea of coffee youtubers. I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel :-)
Don't even drink coffee (unless I'm REALLY desperate for caffeine) but I love watching your videos. You have such a calming energy xx
Oh my goodness, that's a dream setup! Thank you for sharing!
Love your channel, it's just full of happiness. Thanks for doing what you do.
When I'm older (I'm 13) I want to start my own coffee shop so this is really cool 🙂
You should work at Starbucks when you turn 16 in 3 years !!!
That’s what I’m doing next year when I turn 16
Carol Baskin that’s rude
69 you what how ???? I was just giving them advice because we both want to own coffe shops in the future and working at something like Starbucks can be a good start
Carol Baskin what if they don’t wanna work there ????
Oooo, the updated Silvia looks sweet! I'm still rocking my Silvia/Rocky pair after 10 yrs! Great machines.
What grind setting for you?
I love this! You’re awesome! I’ve been looking to invest more time in honing in what I see as the art of coffee-making (not sure as to the term), and this looks perfect. I look forward to more!
I’m Glad you made this video! Have been wanting to see your set up after your last video☺️
I have a Rancillio and the double boiler made me get SO excited. It's expensive but very fair in the double boiler market.
My boyfriend loves espresso and even though I just started watching you not to long ago we have similar setups with the grinder and machine, so hopefully I will learn some thing so I can help make espresso too! Love the videos!!
How are u enjoying the machine so far ?
also we both left our barista jobs @ the same time so your home vids are very nice for another home barista that sometimes misses their cafe!
Loved the book you were reading the whole series was phenomenal!!!!!
Now I know what kitchen tools I'm buying after I win the lottery :-)) Seriously, your presentations are great, and I always enjoy them. Thank you.
There are newer grinders and machines with all sorts of features. But Rancilio makes these products and they have very good reliability. This is a 20 year set up. Very nice
Super fun videos, I love your approach to coffee and you. Keep it going and thanks for helping me make better coffee
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN!!!! Hope you have a good one, even in quarantine
I just got the previous version of this machine and I love it. I missed espresso so much after leaving my barista job 😫 but finally it has returned!!!
When slowly upgrading your setup what matters more, a higher quality grinder or higher quality machine?
I had to double take.. i know that adorable face!
@@emilymakescoffee1741 hehe indeed! It is I!
@@AM-nv5ww and it depends how you like your coffee. Personally I prioritize my grinder first
@@AM-nv5ww Grinder, then machine...repeat until you are broke.
Facebook once recommended me one of your vids since then i have been watching them all day on Facebook but today I decided to search for your channel on utube i looked for any of your vids everywhere but since that i couldn't remember your utube's channel name i almost gave up but thankfully just a second before giving up i found your video and definitely subscribed to it 😂😂❤️
Btw i looooooooooove ur vids and your looks you are just so pretty 💕😢
Your voice is so comforting ❤️
MorganSpillsCoffee strikes again! 😂
The Silvia was my first machine (secondhand). Loved it. It had no PID, but this thing is more or less unbreakable and good for learning about espresso. Nice vid 😀
Hi 😀 What is your next machine ? I m wondering of buying something level higher than Rancilio! Thank you 🙏
@@PitBlackCoffee Hi. I did a big upgrade to a Rocket R58. Wonderful machine
@@theaudiophilebarista2424 Thank you 😀
@@theaudiophilebarista2424 so better idea will be rocket appartamento or silvia pro ? What do you think ?
@@PitBlackCoffee Hi, have no experience with any of those, but my choice would be the Rocket. Better looking 😉
Is it a Coincidence, that this Video came out at the same time where James Hoffman's video about the Silvia came out? :D
Literally just came from that video
@@rachelorr4426 Me too, but this is a completely different machine :)
Same
Hoffman paid for his equipment, he wasn’t sent it for free.
James is A LOT more knowledgeable. He’s a champion barista. Morgan is a novice, a hobbyist. I would not take more from this video than what it is offering. It’s an infomercial for the product and not a real review.
great video! thank you so much for always thinking of us and linking all of the products, we appreciate the effort ♥ i think a lot of us would be interest in your work-from-home setup after seing your gorgeous keyboard on instagram. congratulations on this new chapter of your life!
just found this channel and am smitten by the excellent content🖤
We have a Rancilio Silva at home as well!! I hope I can get my own one day when I move out
it makes me giggle that you just stepped up from the machine I hope to save up for months for 😂 you are definitely my espresso bar goals
I think the only thing bad about making cafe grade coffee at home is the amount of things you have to wash after 🤦🏻♀️
was watching the video thinking there is something missing, till the
end when " morgan spills coffe " now i get relief :)
Darth Bane series is I think my favorite Star Wars Series. The audiobooks are fantastic too! Love the videos, keep up the good work!
I loved this review! 😀 I do hope to one day review the silvia pro, but, I have though already bought the Rocky coffee grinder and reviewed it.
I have the standard Silvia, and I love her. She's such a handy bit of gear. I use the Breville Smart Pro grinder because it does a bit of everything, but looking to get a dedicated Baratza at some point.
I had a Silvia for around 7 years and rarely pulled a shot that I was satisfied with. Temperature control was iffy. Maybe it was my grind or the beans IDK but I eventually sold it and got a lever machine. Did get a good froth with Silvia after buying a 3-hole tip for the steam wand. Next I'm waiting for my roaster, so I control from green bean to cup. My grinder is my same ole Saeco I've had for around 10 years... I notice it wants to be cleaned quite often but grind is fairly consistent.
@@ronaldoago-go5907 I’ve never had a problems pulling shots with my standard Silvia, don’t have a PID and just temperature surf, makes great espresso ..
That crema 🥺😍😍 I cant wait to be able to afford one of these!! I have the the little $57 one from Hamilton beach, it does the job 🤷🏻♀️😂 just very “soupy” shots lol
i'm so so happy for you Morgan
Your kitchen is just so darling
OMG soooo happyyy to watch a video of yours 😍
Oooooooo that’s a great set up!!!
Nice to see this being used in later videos.
this is the first channel I've seen where it feels like a safe space to learn about espresso and coffee stuff in general and im obssessed
Safety first 🥇
I've been looking for a new grinder so this is super helpful! Thanks
Don't get this grinder. It sucks for making espresso. Get a Niche Zero grinder. You won't regret it.
You’re really pretty ❤️ I’ve been watching your videos deciding which espresso machine to buy.
Just found yours vids trying to make better coffee with my breville “compact cafe”.
Now I see you reading Star Wars TOR Darth Bane! Subscribed!
I love your world record speed reading! 🤪
You really professional and clean⭐️
Thank you for this video👍🏻🌹
Woah, i've been trying to make latte art for so long!! i'm so bad at it! yours look AMAZING! :D
I get so happy watching your vids
hey morgan!! love your content and have been watching since your early-ish tiktok days c: was wondering if you could make a video giving tips to make the best espresso possible using a cheap and maybe not ideal espresso machine lol i won a free machine in a giveaway at work and im having so much fun with it, but it’s definitely not the best quality!
i love coffee, which is why im here, though i pulled the perfect shot from my jura s8 in under a minute just now, as opposed to several with the silvia, and alot more manual processes. i get the romance of semi autos but the convenience of autos and consistency of shots has me won over for now. great machine the silvia, enjoy.
I had the Rancilio Audrey and rocky. Today I use the JURA E8 - easy and superb.
Congratulations on getting a $1,700 espresso machine sent to you! I’m still in the market for one but leaning towards the Breville Barista Express.
Tommy Salami do you mind how you paid for it? I’d like to know what a good price is when it comes to Black Friday sales. Thx!
@Tommy Salami whoa nice
@@shawnriv9 don't know about your locality. But here In Germany the sage barista express, which is just the local rebrand of breville, regularly shows up refurbished on eBay for 299€ and it was in perfect condition when it arrived.
*looks up pricing on a Silvia Pro*
*openly weeps*
Right? It's ridiculous.
same. I can open a coffee shop for that price
Agreed, nearly 3 times the price for a PID kit and an extra boiler?!?
you don't need two boilers for steamed milk , its' just a convenience
My silvia has been rock solid
Had the exact same grinder and the non-pro silvia for over 15 years, zero issues. Upgraded to a dual boiler machine about a year ago, and the drinks are *exactly* the same, just quicker to make, a lot less work.
I see, with the Silvia Pro, Rancilio finally addressed the intrusive screw holding in the screen. Do you think you can buy a Silvia Pro screen and screw and have it be flush on the Silvia V6?
This is the first Sylvia Pro video on RUclips 👍🏼👍🏼
Omg just found your channel and I’m OBSESSED
Did you find her TikTok videos? You're going to be busy for months! LOL
Yooooo that Darth Bane book is one of the best Star Wars stories ever! Let’s get that as a series Disney
Finally a Silvia with a double boiler!🙀🥰
Great channel, well produced. Thanks.
Excellent book choice!
She's literally the Bob Ross of coffee and I'm here for it
Love the coffee machine
How awesome is the Darth Bane trilogy. Awesome setup by the way.
so much good stuff in the video that I now want to get
I think I'll buy the Pro soon, the only thing I find irritating about it (and many other machines), is that the valve for the steam wand apparently takes more than a single turn to open/close. If I want to steam milk I think the valve needs to be either fully open or completely closed, but nothing in between, so I don't understand why an on/off valve needs that many turns. I think it would be much easier with a lever instead of a knob.
Lollll when you whisper "sometimes I miss it a little" (in reference to being barista)
I dropped everything to watch this video
SAME
Fr, went on break asap
I've never seen one of your videos. Never watched a single thing. This comes up in my recommended. I clicked play, took a sip of coffee, and almost spat it across my keyboard at that slide-in. You just got yourself a sub, m'unicorn.
Truly speaking I subscribed once I saw you were reading the Darth bane books
Gorgeous 😍
I recently bought a Rocky Grinder for overall general use. I have been finding alot of clumping with fine grinds. Have you ever thought about the coffee clumping on the Rocky? Is it an issue you find makes a difference in your espressos?
I just watched James Hoffmann’s video on the Rancilio! When I start to bother with espresso at home it’s definitely in the running, but just like James said it’s a lot of money to spend to then immediately void the warranty to mod it to get really good espresso. Biggest factor, though, for me is how I’m accustomed to commercial machines and I’d want that same feeling at home
Looks like this is the Silvia "Pro" rather than the regular Silvia in James's video, aka the Silvia V6. This one has a PID built in so you don't have to do the PID mod.
Yes this is the pro, about $1500 in the US. This one has dual boilers and PIDs, it is more comparable to the rocket aparmento
Although similar in price, The Rocket Appartamento is a heat exchanger without a PID
If you don't want to mod, just be lazy and get a breville express. I'm actually considering selling mine and getting something I can tinker with. I hate that I can't fix my own machine. [Otherwise my machine is 2 years and hundreds of coffees old and still doing great! (grinder is getting worn though)]
@@christianmarth9989 PID not really needed on e61HX machine by the way.
That Rancho look huuuuge!
You’re the reason I drink oat milk now. Dairy hurts me as well and this has been a wonderful change! (I hated almond and coconut milk and lactade also hurt me lol)
Dairy doesn't affect me at all and I'm not vegan but I try to drink oat milk whenever I can. The brand Oatly makes pretty good oat milk imo (which is why you can see them everywhere in specialty coffeeshops), they also have a 'Barista' version which foams pretty nice. IDK about the one Morgan showed in the video.
we use that oat milk at my coffee shop too and you're right it is truly The Greatest lol
love your videos ❤️
Can you do a video about some of your favourite coffee brands just so I can get an idea of what to try ?! I’m new to coffee and would love your opinion! 😁
Gurlllll you made my dayyyyyy
I definitely would love to have that coffee machine
I have the original Silvia and the only two features I covet are a PID and dual boiler. So yeah, this is in my future.
I’m so tempted to buy this! 😅
I'm hoping to get this setup one day
Interesting that you don't use your scale that has a timer when you pull shots at home.
I want to get the new Silvia. How is the warmup time? I love my barista express since it takes a few minutes. I get awesome results but it took a few years to really dial it in.
I've been looking at the (I guess 2022 updated) "Silvia Pro X" version of this machine. It looks like the same awesome piece of hardware. To be fair the bar is low: I've been drinking Nespresso for years...
Yassss I love this 🥰
Umm isn't one of the main points (outside temperature stability) for having a dual boiler is being able to steam milk and brew coffee at the same time? Show us what this machine can do! 😁😁😁
That's the clumpiest grind I've ever seen coming out of a grinder.
i cried when i saw it
and why does that matter?
@@tubbycustard8866 if your into espresso a lot and have a fine tuned taste for what you like clumping causes channeling which in turn results in under extracted espresso that doesn’t taste as full as it should uneven distribution in the puck results in weak points being created around said clumps as they are denser
Nice one...your voice is very relaxing..and nice latte art
2:49 "Oh why not buy an espresso machine with a tamp" me: I can barely afford a bag of coffee beans, let alone a tamp, let alone an espresso machine HAHAHAHA. jokes I love you morgan your amazing :)
Great setup buy I prefer breville dual boiler or in more expenditure oracle touch, what do you think about that? 🤔
I was wondering how she got the silvia pro I've been waiting for that machine to come out
Hi! Hope you're doing well!
Can you please do a suggestion on an affordable but decent espresso machine ?
Thanks!
Love your hair 💚💚💚 and all your appliances for make coffee 🤭☕ hihihi
Great review. Question : would you buy it for yourself?
So beautiful 😍
Don't you find the grinds from the rocky a bit clumpy?
They certainly look it. Even more so than the Breville she had before.
The clumps out of that Rocky are WILD
aaah i just noticed you're reading path of destruction, i've read that whole series like 2-3 times haha
