Come out of the well.. people learn languages because of the need and monetary benefits and recognition. Unless you have mastery in 2 languages, you cannot say this language is better than the other. All pan south Indian greats are from Tamil Nadu , like KV mahadevan, MsV, ILaiyaraja, AR Rahman Kamal Hassan . So can we conclude Tamil soil and culture is the greatest giving birth to so many greats ? That's a foolish argument.

He is a music giant. He is the creator of innumerable songs which have soul . That's why even today they are existing . We listen to his songs hours together without any monotony . Singers can be good singers if they sing exactly what he composes . He doesn't need praise anybody . . If he says OK to singers that will be great appreciation. He is a textbook not a guide

To some of the comments i have come across, there are always a pool of singers to sing a song. But there are only a handfull of people who create music and ilayaraja is the best in those handfull of music directors. Its a soothing feel listening his BGM and song score.

I've come to the conclusion that Ilaiyaraja must have somehow accessed the divine music library and taken these flawless compositions, because it seems impossible for a human to produce so many masterpieces in such a short time. To give you an idea, during his peak in the 1980s, he composed music for over 53 films in a single year, including songs and the entire soundtrack for each movie. (This was before the practice of outsourcing musical work became common.)

In bolywood, there are great music director, singers, actors, actress etc are Muslims, but they are all more popular than Hindu artists. Same way in South India also.
