As a local born and raised in the island I was looking for flaws in your pov of our island but let me tell you, you are spot on with the recommendations! Even more so with the scams coming from playa
Yantar, I would love your tips on local flavors. I really like poc chuk, agua de chaya, etc. We have 24 hours so we have a number of meals to eat. A special birthday dinner and some daytime food the next day. We will have a rental car. Gracias
As a diver, Cozumel is a regular spot. Agree on the comments about renting villas (air BNB) as a nice way to enjoy Cozumel. We rent scooters to get to the beach clubs and tour the island to give flexibility and save on taxis. The trip around the complete island is not long or difficult and there are great places to stop on the West side to rest or go for a swim. Yes, stay off the booze driving them as you point out.
Went to Cozumel June 22 and loved it. Ciello beach is gorgeous, if you can stay on the water with a "pier" scuba companies will pick you up with their boat making for an awesome experience (we used Dive with Martin who were fantastic), Buchannos is well worth the trip if you enjoy a great meal on the pricier side for the island. Pay with pesos when possible particularly with taxis since the rate is fixed, but their conversion rate is terrible, if not outright theft, if you pay with US dollars. If you get an AirBnB make sure to hit the local supermarket. Prices are great and plenty of variety.
Martin is a legend. He certified my wife many years ago. He set the bar that she compares every dive master to. Luis from Pepe's dive shop @ Coral Princess is also a great dive master, but he is semi retired.
As a lone female, I was targeted by a waiter in a restaurant called CHILE TEQUILA on the waterfront. I started going there after dark to listen to the band. I was having a beer, when I noticed the flashing lights of the police behind my car with Texas license plates. My waiter went to my car as the police were removing the license plates. The waiter said a couple of sentences to the police and then put the plates back on. When we got back to my table, he insisted that I owned him $100 US. I was reluctant to do this, I was extorted 2,000 pesos. His accomplice stood and ran my credit card through. The next day I took a male Texas friend with me to the owner, who just laughed at me. My landlord is a taxi driver and told me the owner is connected with some bad people that he pays to protect him. Then I found out from a Texas friend who just moved down here as I did that a friend of hers get scammed out of $500 US for a $50 bottle of tequila by the same restaurant. After I couldn't get anything done I filed a complaint at the tourist police. A lot of the police here are bad as well. Beware of CHILE TEQUILA.
@@renatasolomon6750 my buddy just talked me into going in October or November I was looking into renting a jeep and kinda staying away from the carnival excursions so we aren’t hearded around like sheep any suggestions and yea that sucks they stole your money in the restaurant I’m worried about that
On our last trip to Cozumel, we rented a scooter and drove the southern loop. It was a great time. Almost no traffic and we stopped at every sea-side shack along the way (over 12). It does have its risks but we will do it again next year. Get away from the cruise port areas and Cozumel becomes a wonderful place to explore.
@@cenkyener9071 Cheaper by the week. It was $150 for the week. It shouldn't be more than $40 for the day. You need to fill the gas tank (about $2-3) prior to returning. Gas station is south of town.
I have had the distinct pleasure of going to Cozumel 6 times. Four times we stayed at various resorts and one visit was on a cruise. My overall recommendation would be is to rent a home, villa or condo. We rented a villa on the north side of the island away from the cruise ships. We shopped the local grocery stores for our meal items and we rented a car. We also went to Bucannos at night which is a wonderful restaurant. I feel this trip was more of an enjoyable experience as we had more of a personal adventure. Cozumel is an incredible island.
I've been to Cozumel one time, recently. I also visited Buccanos. I now want to move to Cozumel and so that's why I'm watching these types of videos. It'll be a while but it's going to happen for me. I fell in love and I've never loved a place so much!

We just got back from spending a week there. Not once did I feel threatened or worried. And the locals that I interacted with, were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will go again.they do drive like their nuts though.
Thank you for sharing your experience in Cozumel! It's great to hear that you had a wonderful time and felt safe during your visit. The locals being friendly and helpful is always a plus, and I can imagine that the driving style may have been a bit different than what you're used to, but it's all part of the unique and exciting experience of traveling. My dance friends and me are planning on a Cozumel adventure. My general idea is an all inclusive, dance at day clubs in town and retreat to safety at the resort at night. Air bnb and a rental car sounds like an excellent alternative.
It's nice to hear the part about not expecting a bill right away. I live in cancun now and even over there, this is a common thing. I'm not used to having to speak up for this (or for example for people to move out of the way so i can reach the exit on an over-crowded bus) but i'm getting better about it
Hi there! Thanks for your comment and for sharing your personal experience. Living in a new culture can indeed present some interesting and unexpected challenges. It's interesting to see how norms vary across different cultures, such as the pace of service in restaurants or public transportation etiquette. Adapting to these changes can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but it's all part of immersing ourselves in a new environment and growing from the experience. It sounds like you're already making great strides in adapting to life in Cancun. Keep embracing these new experiences and keep learning - that's the beauty of exploring and living in a new place! Enjoy your time in Cancun, it's truly a beautiful place to call home! 🌴🌊
I am glad we didn't rent the scooters in cozumel, the way people drive there is kinda wild and we saw a few accidents on the scooters- you are more protected in a car. Also, get a rashguard instead of those sunscreens. They are still not great for the reef, so just cover your body. One tour I was on even wouldn't let you use ANY sunscreen including so called "reef safe", I was prepared with rashguard and thin scuba pants but others got BURNT.

Double check taxi fare with the actual driver at the cruise port. Don’t take the person who is canvassing passengers for the taxi lineup’s word for it. Had a price from a lady at the stand, another passenger came along and took that cab as we Comte, plates it. Then decided to go for it but another driver had stepped up to the platform and once in his car he upped the price! But I was ok with it, he just ensured his tip as he didn’t get one from me at the destination. On the way back the taxi driver gave me a price which he adhered to and when we arrived back at the port he did get a tip! Just remember to double check the price of anything.
A suggestion for avoiding high cab fares, at least on the mainland: During a 2009 trip I was informed by one of the locals about something they call "autobus". Its basically just locals using their personal minivans to shuttle people around to set destinations. The taxi from the tourist area was going to charge me US $20 to Tulum. Autobus was less than $1.
Hello thanks for your comment but I would strongly advise not to do that as a tourist as these form of transportation are illegal and often attacked by angry taxi drivers.
Yes but what choice do we have. Taxi drivers get angry? So what. They rip off tourist and some of us are working low paying jobs in the US, staying in cheap airbnbs, and spending our entire savings to come here one time. We dont want to be ripped off and taken advantage of my selfish taxi drivers who assume we are all rich. I have very little in the US and my job is low pay.
Thank you so much for watching the video and for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Regarding car rental agencies in Cozumel, I cannot recommend any agency. Watch out for those who use street hustlers attempting to sell rental cars as this can be a red flag. Reputable businesses usually don't engage in such practices and rely on their established reputation and quality service to attract customers. In light of this, I agree that it's important to exercise caution and be wary of any car rental agency that relies on street hustlers or employs aggressive sales tactics. Opting for well-known and reputable rental agencies with a track record of good customer service is generally recommended. Additionally, the same principle can be applied to restaurants. If you notice someone outside a restaurant aggressively trying to lure in customers, it's advisable to approach the situation with caution and consider other dining options. Ultimately, it's always a good idea to trust your instincts and choose businesses that have a solid reputation and positive reviews. This way, you can have a more enjoyable and stress-free experience during your visit to Cozumel. Here are some additional tips for renting a car in Cozumel: Book your car in advance, especially if you're traveling during peak season. Ensure you understand your rental agreement's terms and conditions, especially the insurance policies. Take pictures of the car before you drive away so you have proof of any damage that was already there. I hope these tips help you have a smooth and pleasant experience during your trip!
Hey there! I'm glad you've enjoyed Cozumel multiple times. While I can't recommend a specific outlet for golf cart rentals, I'd suggest searching online and making reservations in advance. That usually secures the best price and ensures availability, especially for a group of 4. Have a fantastic trip in November! 🌴🛵🌊
Thank you for the excellent video! My husband and I are going for the first time and staying at an all inclusive. We are considering renting a car for the week to get us from the airport to the resort as well as explore the island. Do you think renting for the whole week is worth the expense ? We are staying at Allegro. Thanks!
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words; we're glad you found the video helpful. Cozumel is a beautiful island to explore! Renting a car can allow you to explore at your own pace. However, consider how much you plan to actually use it.it's important to note that while Cozumel is stunning, it is somewhat limited in attractions for a whole week. It's a relatively small island, and many of its highlights can be visited in a few days. Unless you plan to venture outside the resort almost every day, a rental car for the entire week might not be necessary. A good balance could be renting a car for a couple of days to explore and spending the rest of your time enjoying what the all-inclusive resort offers. You could also consider guided tours for specific attractions, as they often provide transportation and can offer more insight into the places you visit. You'll surely have a fantastic time in Cozumel, whichever you choose! 🏝☀"
My family is visiting Cozumel next spring via cruise. Punta sur del cielo beach club looks beautiful compared to other beaches I’ve looked up. Would it be difficult to access that beach from the cruise port by taxi?
Exciting plans for your family trip to Cozumel! Punta Sur Del Cielo Beach Club is a stunning choice - you guys will love it. Getting there from the cruise port by taxi is pretty straightforward. You'll find plenty of taxis at the port, and the drivers know their way around well, especially to popular spots like Punta Sur. Just a couple of tips to smooth out your trip: The ride can take a bit, depending on traffic, so factor that into your beach time. It's a good idea to agree on the taxi fare before hopping in to avoid any surprises. And for the way back, you might want to set a pickup time with the same driver or make sure you've got a plan for hailing a taxi at the beach. Hope your family has an amazing time in Cozumel and enjoys every moment at the beach club!
@@TravelDroner thank you for the thorough reply! So I’m guessing like a 30 minute taxi ride from the international cruise port (San Miguel)? We will be sailing royal Caribbean.
I'm a female going to Cozumel with my mother and two young children. We will be with Royal Carribean. My mom is pretty nervous about safety. I did read about Cartels being in Cozumel and Playa and for tourists to be aware. We will be doing the Xenses excursion in Playa. I guess what I'm asking is, is it safe where we will be? Two women and two children? I'm trying to ease my mom's fears, but seeing her nervous is making me nervous. What are your thoughts?
Relax, your mom! Cartels won't be crashing your Cozumel vacation. you are there for the sun, fun, and the Xenses excursion I would also recommend Xcaret. or Xel-Ha. You will be sipping margaritas on the beach, not dodging bullets these guys don't mess with tourists and security is high in Cozumel. So pack your sunscreen and leave your paranoia at home! leave your worries behind and let's make some memories with your loved ones! thanks for watching Regenerate response
I'm so thankful for coming across your very helpful video! I will be braving it by myself in Feb so I can use all this help. Just very nervous about getting from Airport to hotel. I was there briefly this last Feb on Carnival and had a great time getting in my 1st dive at Scuba Juan. Staying in a hotel near there so may go learn how to snorkel. However, I'll put on the full snorkeling rash guard so I won't get fried this time. The Reef Safe sunscreen didn't help last year in BZE! Thus I'm excited to try out a cooking class and or the Tequila tour. Just a weekend trip thanks to Southwest 50% off sale.
Hi there! I'm so glad you found the video helpful. Traveling solo can be such a rewarding experience, and Cozumel is a fantastic choice! Navigating from the airport to the hotel can be daunting, but with some preparation, you'll be just fine. Ask your hotel or where you are staying to arrange it to pick you up. It's wonderful to hear you had a positive diving experience with Scuba Juan and are also considering snorkeling. Using a full snorkeling rash guard is a wise move to protect against the sun. The cooking class and Tequila tour sound like they'll be great additions to your trip! Have a fantastic weekend getaway, and kudos to catching that Southwest sale. Safe travels! ✈🌊🌞
Thank you so much! I was just about to think “I’ve watched dozens of videos what else could I possibly learn before going?” And then this! Thank you!! I’m wondering if you can answer a question regarding the drinking water - when eating at restaurants do you advise avoiding ice in drinks or do restaurants use bottled water to make it? Also, I have heard you shouldn’t eat any raw vegetables or fruit that hasn’t been peeled to avoid potential parasites. This would limit food choices quite a bit! Is this something that is advised as well? Thanks!
Thank you for watching my video on traveling to Cozumel and for leaving such a positive comment! I'm glad to hear that you found my video informative and helpful. Regarding your questions about drinking water and food choices in restaurants, drinking water in restaurants in Cozumel is generally safe. Most restaurants use filtered or purified water to make ice and beverages, so you don't need to worry too much about getting sick from the water. As for eating raw vegetables and fruit, there is indeed a risk of parasites or other contaminants in some types of produce. However, many restaurants in Cozumel take precautions to ensure their ingredients are clean and safe. If you're concerned about eating raw vegetables or fruit, you could ask your server if they have been washed thoroughly or if they have any recommendations for safe menu choices. Overall, I believe that Cozumel is a safe and enjoyable place to visit, and many delicious and healthy food options are available. I hope this helps, and I wish you a wonderful trip!
@@TravelDroner thank you! When I lived in the Dominican Republic we would let our fresh produce sit in a sink full of water with a little bit of bleach in the water to kill parasites. Is this a common practise in Mexico? Thanks!
@@frugalfinds13 Hey,I lived in the DR too, and now in Mexico, I prefer to be safe and wash always everything with purified water and never had an issue staying safe.
It's generally considered safe to use them. However, as with any form of transportation in a foreign country, it's important to exercise caution and use common sense. Some tips to ensure your safety while using marked taxis in Cozumel include: Ask the driver for the fare before getting in the taxi to avoid any misunderstandings later on. Avoid getting into a taxi with strangers, and don't share a taxi with someone you don't know. Keep your belongings close to you and avoid displaying any valuables. Following these simple precautions can help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience while using marked taxis in Cozumel.

That's so exciting - moving to Cozumel is a dream for many! Living on an island with such incredible marine life and vibrant culture will surely be an adventure. Here are a few tips for settling in for the long haul: Learn Some Spanish: If you haven't already, try to pick up some Spanish. It will make your daily life much easier and is also a sign of respect for the local culture. Embrace the Local Lifestyle: Things may move at a different pace compared to what you're used to. Embrace the 'island time' and the local customs to truly become a part of the community. Get to Know Your Neighbors: Building relationships with locals can enrich your experience. They can offer advice, help you navigate local bureaucracy, and might even invite you to a home-cooked meal. Be Mindful of the Environment: Living on an island, especially one with such a delicate ecosystem, means being extra conscious about reducing your environmental impact. Prepare for the Climate: The weather can be hot and humid, and there's a rainy season to consider. Make sure your home is prepared for the elements, and invest in good air conditioning and dehumidifiers. Stay Healthy: Familiarize yourself with the local healthcare system and know where the nearest hospital or clinic is. Also, be aware of any potential health advisories, like mosquito-borne illnesses. Budget Accordingly: While Cozumel can be cheaper than many places in the US or Europe, some things can be more expensive, especially imported goods. Plan your finances with local costs in mind. Explore the Island: Don't let the beauty of Cozumel escape you. Take time to explore the island, not just the tourist spots but also the less-traveled paths. Stay Connected: If you're coming from afar, find ways to stay connected with friends and family back home. Internet services are available, but it's good to check the reliability in your specific area. Enjoy the Water: Since your girlfriend will be working in a dive shop, you'll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water. Respect the ocean, but don't forget to take advantage of living in one of the best places in the world for diving. Remember, moving to a new place can have its challenges, but it's also an incredible opportunity for growth and new experiences. Best of luck with your move, and I hope Cozumel becomes a home you both love! 🏝🐠

Just make sure he won't spend his birthday at the Torito(Mexican temporary jail) for x amount of time when caught doing things like that I would not recommend in any way doing anything illegal in Mexico, or it will cost you a lot of dollars, and you will ruin your vacation especially if you don't speak Spanish and are not familiar how things are done down here with that said there are many police roadblocks around the island just waiting for tourists or locals to break the law being it speeding or whatever they will fine you a hefty fine if its bigger issue they drag you to jail until you see a judge the next 72 hours, so I don't think it is a good way to spend your vacation time. Thank you for sharing your concerns! I completely understand where you're coming from. As someone who has lived in Mexico for over 24 years, I'm very familiar with how things work here. You're right that biking isn't for everyone, especially given the traffic conditions. Safety should always be a priority, and I appreciate you bringing up those essential points. Hey there! 😄 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the electric bike recommendation for exploring Cozumel. It's always interesting to see how different people have varied preferences when it comes to transportation choices on the island. While some visitors enjoy electric bikes' convenience and eco-friendly aspect, especially for navigating the more scenic and less congested areas, others might not find it as appealing. Cozumel has so much to offer, and there are plenty of ways to explore its beauty, from traditional bikes and scooters to car rentals and even walking tours. It really comes down to personal preference and what kind of experience you're looking for. I’d love to hear more about your favorite way to get around Cozumel and any recommendations you might have for fellow travelers. What’s the best way, in your opinion, to experience all the great sights and experiences the island has to offer? 🏝🚲🛵
I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way about Cozumel. While everyone has their own preferences and opinions about travel destinations, Cozumel is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life. Many visitors enjoy activities such as snorkelling, diving, and exploring the island's natural beauty. Of course, like any destination, there may be areas that are less developed or less attractive, but it's important to keep an open mind and consider the destination as a whole. It's also worth noting that opinions on travel destinations can vary widely depending on personal tastes and preferences. I hope that you are able to find a travel destination that better fits your interests and preferences!

Hi! I'm going later this month and haven't booked lodging. Would you mind sharing the airbnb you stayed at?
@@cheyennebaker3149 I hope that helped, great clean comfortable and affordable!
El cielo is a dream and punta sur also a great spot
Martin is a legend. He certified my wife many years ago. He set the bar that she compares every dive master to. Luis from Pepe's dive shop @ Coral Princess is also a great dive master, but he is semi retired.
Dive Martin is fantastic

Hi there! Thanks for your comment and for sharing your personal experience. Living in a new culture can indeed present some interesting and unexpected challenges. It's interesting to see how norms vary across different cultures, such as the pace of service in restaurants or public transportation etiquette.

We are staying at Dreams Cozumel in June next year, will be our first time in Mexico.

Thanks for this Great video! What car rental agency would you recommend and which would you stay away?
Here are some additional tips for renting a car in Cozumel:
Book your car in advance, especially if you're traveling during peak season.
Ensure you understand your rental agreement's terms and conditions, especially the insurance policies.
Take pictures of the car before you drive away so you have proof of any damage that was already there.
I hope these tips help you have a smooth and pleasant experience during your trip!

Just a couple of tips to smooth out your trip:
The ride can take a bit, depending on traffic, so factor that into your beach time.

Thanks!

How safe are the marked taxis?
It's generally considered safe to use them. However, as with any form of transportation in a foreign country, it's important to exercise caution and use common sense. Some tips to ensure your safety while using marked taxis in Cozumel include:
Ask the driver for the fare before getting in the taxi to avoid any misunderstandings later on.
Avoid getting into a taxi with strangers, and don't share a taxi with someone you don't know.

Learn Some Spanish: If you haven't already, try to pick up some Spanish.
Is reef friendly lotion acceptable or not?
Hello, only biodegradable sunscreen is allowed
Ok Thanks. People are saying they take whatever but maybe they have the correct one.
Actually now they dont want any sunscreens on you if you are going in the water. Best thing is to wear sunproof clothing like a rashguard.
How are fares paid for on the island, I eat credit card, cash, etc.
Cash is your best bet
I gained some great do' and don't for my upcoming trip. Thank you.
Enjoy Cozumel
What’s the price for renting the buggie btw???
Around 60 to 70 bucks
@@TravelDroner Do you have to have license for the buggy/electric bike or only if on the highways? My 15 year old will turn 16 the week of the trip so he won't be able to get his license until we get back, and we wanted to let him drive the buggy for his birthday. Before anyone jumps on me about safety, he's been racing motocross since he could walk, and we live on a farm and he's been driving for years. I trust him to drive more than anyone else on the island. Just though it would be an awesome way to spend his birthday.
@@aaabbbccc985 Hello, yes, you need a car driver's license to rent and drive the buggy. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the info!! Is there a company you’d recommend for renting a buggy/jeep? I’ve heard different things about the insurance you have to purchase and how it can be a potential scam. TIA!! 👍
Hello, unfortunately, I cannot recommend anyone here or endorse we crossed with our own car from playa del Carmen but what I like to do is use rental companies which are not on the front strip where all tourists arrive from the ferry I usually pick one in downtown based on reviews online with that said HTL Rentals Scooter &buggy seems they have good feedback check em out but don't forget to take video or pictures of your rental including the gas level so they don't try to get you to fill the tank and don't forget to have fun in Cozumel.
@@TravelDroner thanks for the info!! Great content. 👍
@@haleygibbs112 😎

How did you find your home? Realtor? Locals? Website?

Enjoy Cozumel
Greetings from Cozumel :)
Hello there!
Thanks all good info! Will be there in 2 weeks!
Have fun and enjoy Cozumel.
Do's - rent a scooter, Don'ts- rent a scooter
Apparently electric bike does not equal scooter.
Yes I caught that contradiction in the video. Rent a scooter from Mr. Roger Rabbit.
He said rent an electric bike or scooter if you're staying in a concentrated area. He said if you're touring the whole island loop road, don't rent a scooter because it's too long of a drive and gets uncomfortable.
Seem like I did all right before the tips
Always wear sun glasses try to make a bargin don’t just pay
Tell them you got only 8$ if they charge 15$
Some place can drop half price n get pesos 50-100$ worth. It’s cheaper
Sounds like you had fun there
ja ne , 6:51 wars . Brauch scho a Brilln lol
1.42 siehst mich auch aber mit brillen :)
Every recommendation is a don't
Thank you for your feedback! I understand many of my recommendations focus on what not to do in Cozumel. I intended to provide guidance that helps travelers avoid common pitfalls to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts
9:57 hab dich gesehn Camerado ;-)
Do not go to Senor Frogs overpriced way too loud for the size of the establishment with the DJ squealing the mic while talking over the music and a waitress continually blowing a whistle. Horrible service
yeah all these establishments where mostly tourists go and no locals are around are tourist traps
Don't rent a car unless u have a COMPLETELY SOBER driver. Don't stop for ppl that work with resorts, they are trying to sell u timeshare
Thanks for the heads-up! It's crucial to prioritize safety when driving, so having a completely sober driver is definitely a must. And yes, being cautious about stopping for people who might be trying to sell timeshares is a good tip. It's always best to stick to your plans and avoid unsolicited offers. Thanks for sharing your advice!
It’s not worth it. Go and take the ferry to the mainland.
Here is a dont do not book at the Allegro. Left after one day Do not book a trip to Allegro. Food is worst than terrible. Rooms filled with bugs and bed bugs. Please do not stay here!
I appreciate your feedback on your experience at Allegro. It's important to share your thoughts to help others make informed decisions.
Where the weed at
😂
It's easy man with the right set of eyes you'll find a guy. They're super friendly just obviously be careful. It's kinda bunk down there too It's gonna be basic outdoor and not very good but better than nothing. Usually a beach vendor is gonna be your guy just chat one up but be super careful. Mexican people are awesome and totally chill. I'd recommend someone who isn't just walking around. Go for a guy who is at an actual shop or something.
@@Mile-long-list you going to get him in trouble
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rent an electric bike?????? Are you nuts? I've seen how the taxi drivers drive in that town, if I'm renting anything it's going to have steel surrounding me! Remember the two girls that took that advice and ended up on the operating table from a hit and run? Even then the hospital would not release them till the bill was paid by family back in the US. Bad advice in the first few minutes of the video
For some, an electric bike can be a fun and eco-friendly way to explore, but it's important to weigh the risks and consider what's best for your safety. I always recommend that visitors make decisions based on their comfort level and experience, especially regarding transportation. Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts!
You concentrated on people having an Island adventure. Nothing for the dreaded cruise ship passengers.
Hello that applies to cruise passengers too especially the taxis part and the shopping part right on the port when arriving and the excursions too you can do them all while visiting on a cruise thanks for your comment
Bad experience with taxi driver
They have an aptitude against Nationals they lack of education.Muy malos
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's important to shed light on both the good and bad encounters we have with taxi drivers so that improvements can be made in the industry.
If you are going in the water, don’t use any sunscreen. Even the “” reef safe sunscreens are no good. Get a long sleeve skin.
Spot on, very good tip thanks for sharing
"Rent an electric bike or scooter." I almost turned the video off right there. You're taking your life into your hands doing that. You'll get killed with the crazy drivers there. No thanks. Rent a car or take a taxi.
Don't you do the same back home where you live?? You always put your life at risk when you operate a motor vehicle I live down here, so i am used to the driving style thanks for your comment
@@TravelDroner The driving was far different from where I live (in the USA). All the traffic laws seemed more a suggestion than a rule we saw a few bike accidents in our 10 days in cozumel, and where I live I've only seen like 3 in my life. Granted there are less bikes, but that is a lot of accidents in cozumel.
@@pameladean-dunlap440 Thank you for the feedback. It's great to hear that you had a good experience and that you found the driving in Cozumel to be wild. I agree that renting a car can be a safer option than renting a scooter. Your tip on using a rashguard instead of sunscreen is also very helpful. Sunscreen can harm the reef, so it's good to have alternative options to protect your skin while being environmentally friendly. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips!
@@pameladean-dunlap440 Thank you for your comment on the Cozumel video. I can understand how driving in Cozumel could be different from what you are used to in the USA. It's important to keep in mind that traffic laws and driving culture can vary greatly from country to country, so it's always a good idea to be extra cautious when driving in unfamiliar places. Your observation about the high number of bike accidents in Cozumel compared to where you live is noteworthy. It's always good to be aware of the potential risks and take necessary precautions when traveling. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Last thing I worry about in Cozumel is Sunscreen laws 🤣
Be careful cozymel is a very bad place don't trust the locals the police robbed my friend on a buggy rental cost him 500 bucks they were trying to make him miss the ship
Makes me not want to go here
Have you really even been there? It's pronounced, Coh-su-mel. SMH.
Yes, I have been to Cozumel! It's a beautiful place with so much to explore and just a ferry ride away from where i live.
Too much cruise hate
Has to do with avoiding crowds. Nothing wrong with being smart is there?
electric bike??? :))))))) omg that is the worst recommendation in cozumel
Prounounced "COZE a Mel".....not Caus a mel
The locals, say Caus u mel.....So...I'll probably go with that pronunciation...just saying...
Honestly, that place looks dumpy.
It is pronounced Coe-zoo-mel, not Kah-zoo-mel.
Don't go
