- Cozumel is an island in the Mexican Caribbean, and you can expect many beautiful beaches here. We rented a jeep to drive around the island and discovered great beaches for snorkeling, swimming, or simply admiring the view. And they were all free.
Here are our stops:
- Skyreef beach club: Snorkeling
- Playa San Francisco: Sandy beach to enjoy on your own
- Playa Palancar: Nice infrastructure
- Punta Sur: Gorgeous. The ocean was a little rough, so be cautious getting in

You are most welcome. You must do...especially on a sunny day. It is really relaxed...make sure you aware of the cruise ships porting days...you don't want to compete with them though.
We'd definitely spend another day cruising the island.

So I watched this before my trip to playa del carmen. I went to most of these areas and palancar is where we stopped after my first scuba dive. I’m going back tomorrow, very beautiful. Great list, I got to most of them.

This will be our 3rd time to Cozumel via a Cruise ship and was under the impression that Mexico didn’t have any FREE beaches to the public.
We always just go to Playa Plancar which we love because you don’t have to pay for an all inclusive entry fee..

The money bar , located at the Landmark resort is the best place to stay for a classy place on the island. The units are up to 4000 sf and are Ritz quality for a reasonable price. The snorkeling is awesome

FYI, on the island you can "stop then go" straight on red lights it you are at the top of a "T" intersection. Right turn on red is also OK.

You missed the best beach on the Island within the Eco Park Punta Sur, there are two beach clubs inside this extremely VIP beach which is the most amazing IMO the lighthouse is awesome too the views up there are amazing! You need to update your vid and get back to Cozumel!

Hello and thank you. Our preference would be to over night in Cozumel but you could make it a day trip. Maybe not make as many stops as in our video.
Please be aware of the closing times of the car rental agencies so that you get the car returned in time and of where the gas stations are to top up.

Thanks for sharing! Do I have to book a car in advance? Same goes to a golf cart in Isle mujeres, need a booking? Your videos helps me planning my trip to yucatan peninsula.
You can get the cart when you arrive but be early especially if a cruise ship arriving that day. I can not provide information about renting cars and driving the highways...not sure we would want to deal with that.

@@marianacruz9738 hay muchos y muy diferentes, Bucannos es hermoso, Sunset de mis clubs de playa preferidos, tiene los mejores arrecifes en esculturas especiales donde se siembran y protegen los corales y viven muchísimos peces.
Playa Mía, la playa de Sedena es muy linda.
Hay playas con piedra en la entrada y requieres zapato antiderrapante acuático, que aquí son muy baratos, como 10 dólares, esas playas tienen muchos peces y vale la pena snorkelear, yo amo ir a La Isla de la pasión a pasar el día y por supuesto también a Punta Sur. Cozumel es grande, si se necesita coche o moto.
También hay playas públicas que son diferentes y hermosas.
Muy céntrica una muy popular y eso la hace linda y divertida es Playa Cósmica.
Al Cielo no puedes llegar en auto, solo en lancha o en catamarán o velero, y no puedes bajar a la playa porque es una reserva natural, solo te acercan para mirar las Estrellas de mar que tristemente se han acabado, pero que puedes seguir disfrutándolas con el 🤿.

We were just having a similar conversation with my sister whose cruise stops in Cozumel. I found a recent blog article that talks about cab rates, which are fixed on the island. They are expensive and if you can piggy back with other passengers/couple you may get a break.

That part of the Caribbean is the place where all European Eels start their lives, a life cycle like Salmon but in reverse. The eggs develop into Elvers that then get carried by the gulf stream across the Atlantic to Europe. The now larger Elvers make their way up rivers and streams, even ditches into lakes to spend the rest of their lives in fresh water before doing the whole journey back to the Caribbean to breed and die. The numbers of Fresh Water Eels is on the decline mainly due to river management schemes involving weirs and other river level controls to prevent flooding. They impact Eels more than Salmon as they can't jump weirs and waterfalls like Salmon do. Eel passes are now being introduced by some river authorities.
