- We started forestry mulching on this job when the county showed up and said all the permitting wasn't completed. We were allowed to forestry mulch, but weren't able to complete the basement or any dirt work.

Thank you for the support!
I really like the title of this video. That was nice of them to let you continue. The other day I went to wipe my butt and a guy from zoning stuck his head out of the toilet and wanted to see my permit.
hahahaha!
John you do great work. I live in Spartanburg, I'm retired. Someday I'll com by and say Hello.
Hey Jon, IMO, if the owner stated to you with certainty that all the permits were in place, but they weren’t and you now need to pull your iron out to complete a different job due to delays with this project, then the owner should understand an extra re-mobilization charge. That’s just the way it is. You shouldn’t have to take that hit.
I totally agree, the permitting issues are the responsibilty of the owner, and if he screwed up, he should understand that he will now have to pay extra to you to come back, this is business, you should NOT be taking a hit for what he should of done.
@@donnal.oglesby4806 That isn't exactly true. Most contractors handle the permitting and include the charges in their bids. Contractors typically have relationships with the agencies and know the process better than the homeowner does. A project like this is most likely being handled by a General Contractor as well. I would venture that John is a sub contractor. Whoever the General is would be responsible for pulling permits.
@@mikel9567 That could be the case, but my comment would still apply…GC would be back charged.
As much as the GC's making in profit these days he can take the hit ultimately he's responsible.
If those old chimneys could talk, I’d love to hear the stories.
We live in the land of the free as long as we have a permit. This day and age we need a permit for everything. As for your locks maybe design a flip up cover to go over your locks to keep rain water out.talk with the manufacturer for they may help.
Sure would love to know the history of that place! Two chimneys??!! And, as always, awesome work John!!! Thanks again!!!!!
Yeah, there's definitely some history there!
💥Keep your chin 👆🏼, your putting out some outstanding videos my friend friend.
Thanks!
John, you always put out videos that show us the good and not so good parts about what you deal with. Wish you all the best in 2024.
Young man, stay positive, kindest regards from Bonnie Scotland. Joe.
i love it when your wife helps\

"When you spend $10,000 and still get crap...:that's dumb..."
Hard to understand how companies get away with it.
Land owner is responsible for permits county surely can put a stop the dirt work Jon pack up and leave great video thanks Jon and Jodi
I haven't had dinner yet and looking at that machine. You could make a great shredded beef sandwich with it.
Jon,your in your element when your in the woods.great job on mulching,it changes the looks of the property big time.the permits were owner responsibility,no idea how long to get them.I would go to the next job, owner should understand it was his mistake.he would have to wait.my opinion.great video.😎😎😎👍👍👍
For the tool box water issue... Machine a collar for the bottom. a side bolt and a flip cover lid for the handle. cut seals for each layer. Condensation can be handled by a 12v incandescent bulb hooked into your running lights. when the truck is on and running the incandescent bulb will burn off the condensation with its heat. an 1157 will keep a standard tool box pretty dry.
Good job buddy! Gotta love all the red tape!🤦♂
Looks great John

Got that place looking good John nice work
hello John & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool Thanks John Friends Randy
You were talking about water getting into the lock on your toolbox freezing. But not only that it will eventually rust the lock I would definitely keep it lubricated. And here’s a thought something that you might try. Drill a whole just large enough for a piece of clear line like gas line for a weed eater or chainsaw or like on an oxygen tank. Then stick the tube in the whole and seal around it and then run the tubing or hose along the inside of the toolbox to the bottom and drill another small hole so the water can drain out. Just a thought.
Maybe he could rivet a rubber flap over the latch
It 3 below zero in pittsburgh right now - i'd b in a tee shirt down there......
Way too cold!
Great job Jon!!
Nice job John looks great 👍
Dear Editor : Thanks for the Nose Bleed at 35:45❤
"Get'n all fat and sassy" 😂
If it was the owners fault the owner should definitely reimburse you for your time and effort
I can't figure why in the world you should have trouble finding work. The quality of work you do should sell itself. Every job site I've seen you leave looked 1000% better than when you started.
Thank you!
Thanks for your relaxing videos. Been watching for several years from the Holy Land. Would you be interested in coming here as a volunteer to help Baptist Village with excivating?
Where is "here"?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I hate it when you spend big money on something to protect your investment in tools and it doesn’t do the job as it should. As far as the locks freezing, carry a small bottle of rubbing alcohol in the truck. A few drops prior to a freeze will prevent icing and if you forget until later if you can dribble some through the key hole it will soften/ melt ice. Hopefully you can get enough to drip into the lock.
I have the same problem both with storage box locks and also locks on my gates - I carry a brulee torch in the truck at all times so I can thaw them as needed. Keeping them oiled helps but they still sometimes freeze. A real pain on a cold day and your trying to get stuff done.
First from -5 Indiana 👊🏻💪🏻🥶🥶🥶🥶
Stay warm!
Third to comment from -9F(-33F wind chill) Aurora, IL.
It's 58F here today in central Florida, but mid 70's tomorrow. No freezing weather so far this year, not even close.
Yikes - and govt want us to believe global warming is real -9' degrees wth
Starting to think you've been hanging around Devon too much, the way you keep attacking those camera stands.
Winter time is easy to get fat and lazy 😅
I haven't watch your videos in awhile. Do you have employees anymore or new employees?
They left to pursue other opportunities about a year ago.
How many mulching heads do you have? What's your favorite? And why do some mulching heads has 3 lines and other have 5?
The other 2 lines are probably for the door on front of mulcher.
Permitting is a cork in the ass of progress. It's always about the grubby bureaucracy wanting more money.
You just got the 100 back and it is repair again that's not good
This video really hurts my feelings because you didn't have all of the proper government permitting to be on site and therefore cannot continue to wear out those already wore out excavator pins. 🤣
