    Nice job. Cream leaves residue. Maybe Nevrdull instead. Anyway, great job.

    Nice you got the glass back to their original clear colour. If they were supposed to be coloured, the glass itself would be coloured glass - not painted.

    I have the exact same Masthead Lantern. The glass is clear already and it's pretty straight up in great condition what is it worth

    Hello - your lantern is way cooler than mine but I also tried my hand at one of these old lanterns - they are so enjoyable to do. I enjoyed your video and subscribed!

    kind of a shame that the colored glass was lost. the red and blue would look cool.

    Hello, It's Debbie, I contacted you about a month ago and you gave me alot of great suggestions. I bought the Autosol polish and so far I have polished the tar out of my lantern. This is quite the job!! hahaha,,, It still has dark spots and blotches on it... even after several applications of the polish. mine is no where near as shiny as yours...almost looks slightly drab. I wish I could send you a picture. Anyway, any other suggestions? Is there a dremel tool accessory that could shine it up without scratching it or leaving buff marks? thank you, D

    Nothing throws up more doubt than a man wearing 45 bracelets, a comically oversize watch and a cheap index finger ring.

    Hello, What product did you use to remove the colored stain in the glass...and what brand of polishing paste did you use? I just bought an old lantern off of ebay after watching this video. How do you tell if it's actually copper and not a fake copper finish
    ?

    • @pirateprojects3402
      @pirateprojects3402  3 года назад

      Hello, to remove the color from the glass I use paint stripper and for polishing I use granol polishing paste ultra soft. 🤜🤛

    • @pirateprojects3402
      @pirateprojects3402  3 года назад +1

      Now with the one that you buy, you will realize if it is fake copper finish if you see rust on the metal surface.

      This polish must be extra special, I can't find it anywhere. Do you have another brand that you have used? I was so inspired by your video.... I want to do this right. My lantern is a VTG Masthead Maritime TUNG WOO H1409. It looks tarnished and dirty like yours did. Fingers crossed. Thank you

      Autosol polishing paste is also good and you can find it more easy or other polishing paste for soft metals will do the work.

    cool old lamp, bad choice in pop rivets as it does not appeal to the aesthetics of the lamp as the originals were solid rivets

    Excellent job, shame you showed the finished lamp right at the beginning, this puts a lot of people off, they tend to think fuck it! I know how it looks at the end.
