Nice old carriage fare lantern one the green light let the person waiting for the old fashioned cab of the day the red was to let other know he had his fare on board and when he drop them off he would switch back to green. They were use in the major cities.
I think I would have held out for stained glass in the colors wanted. It’s more brittle, but the colors are richer. Just squares, and no weird angles or curves. A glass shop might have even had scraps to use.
@@AntiqueVintageRestoratioNs Your patience straightening the grooves/slides is remarkable. The finished lamp is still stunning. I used to make stained glass windows, repair lampshades and whatnot. Your expertise in using a glass cutter and line breaker is obvious. The ruby and emerald colors would be ideal. White is notoriously brittle. I think it must have been a signal light for a train or boat. Gorgeous.
What a Fantastic restoration on this old rusty oil Lantern. You did a Marvelous job. Your talent is very Amazing. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Have a Blessed and Beautiful week 😊
I'm very glad you liked it. Since the glass was stuck so much, I couldn't do anything other than break it. Otherwise, I'm on the rescue side. Thank you very much for this nice comment.❤❤❤❤
Damn liked your video (finally the video I truely liked after long time due to other youtubers who absolutely suck making brand new vids nowadays but you come from unique and decent side of youtube). Honestly my bro keep posting these types of videos and you will become a new successful youtuber in the future (if you continue restoring vintage greek stuff, I will literally get kinda excited when watching it).
Your nice comment made me very happy. Thank you very much. It is nice to see you here. I will try to do my best. I hope to continue to see you here often.❤️
LOVE THE SANDBLASTING! 😍and the blasted swearing! 🤬🤬🤬 And I need one of those rotary drilling "pens"! One tiny 🤏thing, channel name is a bit generic, makes it harder to find. Keep up the great work!
I'm very glad you liked it. Don't worry too much about the swearing. I sometimes encounter negativities in the video. My dear editor makes them more entertaining. Thank you very much for watching the video and your valuable comment.❤️❤️
Yes, I have professional masks that I use separately until the restoration of the product is completed. Without a mask, this job is very dangerous.❤️❤️
Those glass tracks needed more work. Old drill bits (everybody's got them) one on each side to keep the integrity of the track, maybe a little heat. You had a good idea though! Not bad next time check with your local glass company for stained tempered glass.
Thank you very much. People whose grandfathers or grandmothers have died find these things from the warehouse. If they think they cannot be used or repaired, they either sell them at very cheap prices or throw them away and leave them on the roadside. I buy them at very cheap prices, too. I am very glad you liked the video.❤
What you do is incredible, I could never do such a thing you do, this been said, I think you could have done better with the yellow metal, since the canals doesn't look straight and the glass frames get stuck when sliding, I'm no connoisseur but I've watched your work.
This guy has to be one of the worst I've ever seen

Thank you very much for this nice information.❤
I was thinking it was a train conductors signaling lantern.
@@sergeantpeppers8858 yea I saw one in a museum and it was the same one.
A lovely result; a reminder of yesteryear. Congratulations on a great presentation.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. I am very happy to see you here.❤

thank you for these lovely soothing and sometimes funny videos

Parabéns, pela sua dedicação. A restauração ficou show. Obrigada por compartilhar conosco esta maravilhosa lamparina.
Muito obrigado por este belo comentário.❤️❤️❤️
Unusual lamp, but you did a great job refurbishing it... Thumbs Up!
Thanks a lot. I'm so glad to see you here.❤❤
Great restoration on this pretty hopeless piece!

This wasn't exactly what I wanted. I love stained glass too. I hope I can do better in future videos.❤❤

The red and green makes me think its some kind of signaling device
I never thought of it that way. It actually makes sense. Thank you very much for watching the video.️❤️
I think that is an old train signal light
❤️❤️❤️
It could be a lamp for maritime use. Red means port side of the ship, green means starboard side and white means stern.

I have an old railroad lantern with red and green glass. This could be one of those.
Of course it could be.️❤️
Железнодорожный сделан по другому.
nice works , i always watch your videos
I'm so glad to see you here. I hope you'll always be here.❤️❤️
yes i will... where you from
Nice, but for ease of use you need to flip the glass over so the loops are on opposite sides and you don't pinch your fingers.
It makes sense. I will change it that way. Thank you very much for the advice.❤
WOW........Great job, thank you

how wonderfully satisfying. alright already ! i subscribed ....

The cursing makes it relatable for me!

I love that the video is most restoring sounds, and suddenly a "blip" 😂😂😂
My dear editor is having as much fun as you. While I'm there dealing with mishaps, he's laughing loudly while preparing the video.😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️
Question ? Do you wear a respirator when working with these to prevent inhaling rust and lead particles ?
Yes, I have professional masks that I use separately until the restoration of the product is completed. Without a mask, this job is very dangerous.❤️❤️
Also whateverver is on there he put on there.
Almost perfect!
Thank you very much.❤️❤️

Christ.....where was it found? At the bottom of the ocean??

Where does this stuff come from?
Sometimes I buy it, sometimes I find it on the side of the road.️❤️
Maybe you should have tried brushing it with something softer while it was wet.....
That's true, sometimes I can't move that fast.❤
Great job on a tough restoration. What is that little power hammer device you used to remove the debris? Thx
