Since this wasn't meant to be a tutorial, I just set the playback speed at 0.25 so I could a least follow what you were doing. Thanks. I was able to make my own cake.
YOU DEFINITLEY NEED TO MAKE THIS INTO A TURTORIAL!!! IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!! And to think I just spent ten hours rotating individual dollups to fit around the cake only to release at the very end that they didn't fit X( also how did you even learn to do all this??? IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!
thank you! I'm so surprised at how many people like this video 🥺 when i get some time maybe I will rerecord it with instructions 💖 there are so many very helpful blender tutorials on youtube, and i learned a lot from polygon runway in particular!
Brilliant work. I have a colleague who's great at making cakes, but I keep pushing him to learn blender for Cake Rendering. Hopefully, this will make him take the jump and start learning to use Blender.
just to make sure, you are asking about when i switch from top view to side view, right? i just clicked on the little bottom "y" icon on the axis in the corner of the screen :)
@@phamdiu2662 i see what you mean now, sorry! i used the spin tool, with the object origin set to the center of the cake. you can see it selected in the sidebar if you pause the video at 2:45 :) i hope that's helpful!
@@nicolledraws7129 what version of blender are you using? i'm using version 4.2, now i know that icon is on the toolbar but when i rotate it can't make multiple objects around the cake. it can only duplicate the object and rotate around, did you press the number select on the keyboard while rotating?
thank you so much!! 🤗 i think for this one you'd only need to know very basic modeling techniques and modifiers like subdivision and mirror. i started with blender guru and grant abbitt's tutorials and they really taught me pretty much everything i needed to know to start out 😊 there are also some built in addons in blender that i turned on that i used in this, particularly the 'extra objects' one which (i think) is where the star mesh comes from :)
Hi~ I would love to help you with this but since I'm a beginner I don't have any of my designs available for purchase. I'm afraid it might be a little high poly, and I don't know much about what needs to be done to make it usable in other projects haha :')
muito bom ficou lindo mais como já comentaram seria bom vc ativa a tecla q mostra os comandos é importante para os aprendizes como eu . ganhou um escrito pela sua criatividade
@@juuu-d5g sorry for such a late reply 😭 the operator presets panel should come up automatically when you add the star mesh, if i recall correctly there will be an option to expand it where it appears on the lower left corner of the screen :)
in the add-ons section of preferences, you should enable the "add mesh: extra objects" option, then when you scroll down in the add mesh menu, you should see it under the extras category :)

Cute! Also, I learned how to do a dollop, which is very helpful, so thank you!
oh i'm very happy it was helpful, you're welcome!! 🥰
wow what delicious and gorgeous cake
nice tutorial, but i'd suggest you to use an add on that shows what keys you're pressing! it would make it easier to follow
thank you for the suggestion 💕

thx for sharing
can you enable the add on that shows what keys you're pressing? thanks :)
yes, i will do that for the next video i make!
how do you rotate the axis like minute 2:43

@@nicolledraws7129 i wonder why you can rotate an object from 1 to multiple objects at once around that cake like at 2:45
@@nicolledraws7129 I also tried using the spin command like you but it didn't work.

thank you ❤❤ how did you add the star like that?
i have the add-on 'add mesh: extra objects' enabled, the star is one of the objects under the extras!
This would be much more helpful if the buttons you used were shown. Very cute though!
thank you for the suggestion!
what key did you use to twist the stars into cream?
i just extruded the top faces and then rotated them on the z axis using r+z! if you need more information i would be happy to help~
Can you display the key presses in the videos?
Great video!
i'm glad you like it! i will definitely include the key presses in my future videos
this is incredible! what basics did you have to learn to do this?

Hello. Please tell me what keys you press on 1:18 ❤️❤️❤️
to add the loop cut i used ctrl+r :)
@@nicolledraws7129 I meant when you stretched the star horizontally
@@vernergoo5064 ohhh im sorry haha, when i did that i clicked s+y to scale it in the y axis only. i hope this helps!

to add the duplicate i clicked shift+d :)
Hello! Do you sell this design? I have a project in which I need a cake very similar to that one and I don't know how to design it
