went tubliss a year ago, and never going back. love them. I over torqued the rim lock once and had to call them for assistance. they got back to me right away and bent over backward to help even though it was my fault. Best customer service ever.
I think I may have made the same mistake on the last install... dang Harbor Freight torque wrenches!

Use a inch lb torque wrench. Normal ft lb torque wrench are not that accurate under 20 ft lbs.
Can confirm, having once borked an oil pan (and a trip). Torque wrenches in general are not very accurate in the lower part of their range. Cheap ones may not be accurate at all. Also, don't just use them on every fastener because the MFR provides a spec. Learn where it's actually necessary, and for everything else use a box wrench or socket with the appropriate-size handle@@BlakeJoy
I really love it as well! 3 years of hard enduro with it and apart from tiny issues the system is the best!

I've been running mine for two years and love them. After the first install tire swaps are sooooo much easier. Tons of traction and security of not dealing with a tube on the trail. They soaked up the worst Arizona has had to through at them with no failures.

++ on the tubliss system. Been running it on my Beta 300RR for 6 months now over very rocky stuff and love it!! The grip is great and actually makes me feel much more in control and allows me to ride faster in the snotty, loose stuff.
I'll never go back to tubes. Been running mine for 8 months. Love it.
How are they on the road? Most of my riding will be day-to-day with long weekend trips to somewhere I can do offroad, and on a 236kg bike (AT RD04) as well.
I have Spoke with the owner Jeff several times and he is very much interested 100% into taking care of his customers. I’ve been using his systems from day one when he first came out with them and I’ve had six sets of these things and one time on the first generation I had a front tube go flat during a race. ( the 100 psi tube ). He sent me several small tubes and several rolls of tape free of charge.

I've been using tubliss exclusively since discovering it in 2011, and I'll never go back to regular inner tubes. I haven't had a flat since going tubliss either, with one exception. A couple years ago I thought I'd check out a MotoZ Mountain Hybrid on the rear. I wasn't fond of the performance, but that's another story. After several months, it developed a slow leak. I was baffled and couldn't figure out what was going on. It turned out that the carcass was separating just above the bead, so like your torn trials tire, the tire chamber wasn't going to hold air. Nothing tubliss could do about that! Great video Tyler.
Thanks! Yes and every problem I've had with the Tubliss has actually been because of a tire, rim damage, or misinstallation. When I installed it right, it's been awesome!

i just finished a trip, had to do the same thing 30km back to the cabin and all went well but the soft sidewall did cause wobbly shift back and forth.

Yes it's pretty excellent! The maintenance is pretty high though. They recommend that you check the air pressure before every ride, and I second that as air can very slowly permeate the high pressure inner tube.
@@eveRide also worth noting that standard automotive/MC tire pumps will not put out anywhere close to the 100PSI that the HP tube needs. The simple answer is a bicycle pump. It's probably not a bad idea to carry a handheld one so you can top-up the HP tube if need be (it'll also work on the tire itself, of course-and you'll get a great workout). This could be your sole tire pump for a day trip, or a backup to an electric pump on a longer trip.
I don't usually comment on videos, but the moment I saw this video I knew I had too. I bought one tubliss for my rear tire when I bought my set of motoz tires and WOW the freedom this system gives you for tire pressure is amazing. I now run 8-11 psi all the time and have had no problems at all. In my opinion the installation is easier than a regular tube if the instructions are followed to the tee. In fact I like this system so much that I wish I never put a regular tube inside my front tire. Oh wait, make that two tubes because the first one got cut in two places while installing (kind of my fault was using big screwdrivers instead of tire spoons I learned my lesson) TL;DR: BUY A SET ASAP you will not regret it.
I've been running Mousses on my 690 since April putting 8500 miles on the rear before it failed and the front has 9100 miles, both in 3 sets of tires while riding through Europe and Africa. My rear one just failed on a 1000 mile trip to the Yukon Territory and did so spectacularly! I borrowed a 17" tube from a KLR rider that has gone 600 miles losing 2psi in a tire that's internally damaged with cord showing! Wished I could post pics here.
What front and rear stiff wall tires are recommended when using tubliss system? Especially if being used for DS riding.
Just bought my first set and they are worth every dollar.

Also, for anyone who hasn't seen it I'd highly recommend checking out Frickin Jim's video on it, especially if you're planning to buy it because he not only talks about the strengths but the weaknesses of the system, which are useful to know.
I know this video is old, and I must've missed it back in 2017…anyway, just yesterday I changed a rear tire on my DRZ, and the whole time I kept thinking "How have we not figured out a better system for tires yet??" Then, just happened to be in Cycle Gear earlier today and saw these things, had not idea they existed. Will definitely give it a try next time I need to change my tire.
I just ordered a tubliss setup for my 500 exc. How did you find balancing the tire? I am running double bead locks now and its perfectly balanced. I do occasionally ride on the road so it would be nice to balance them.
I have entertained the idea of getting those for my CRF, it's the sharp rocks we have up here in Cedar that have made me a bit wary as I run fairly high pressure primarily to protect my rims. Perhaps I should reconsider. That new garage is looking awesome man. The drone work in that video was fantastic by the way.

I also run in sharp rocks west of Utah lake and the Wasatch and Uinta mountains. I run a little higher than some at 7-9 rear and 8-10 up front. never had any problems. My buddy was running hd tubes on a brand new tractionator at 15psi and had a pinch flat less than a mile from where we started.

Yeah try em out you won’t regret it. I run 8-9 front (probably could go less but I ride in the desert and it’s nonstop rocks out here) and 6 lbs in the rear. Makes the ride feel super plush too.

They have been around for over 18 years, next time your in Moab and need anything they are more then happy to help you out, along with the amazing knowledge about great trails for all.
After going Tubliss on my bike and swapping out too many tubes for my son I went tubliss and love em. 7psi in the rear and 11psi up front. I don't like hearing that thud when I hit a rock at speed, even though the rim is protected by the tire itself. Way more traction, softer ride, less deflection off rocks, no more wasting time changing flats. Just remember to check all 4 valves for proper psi per bike each day. You will need a high psi gage for the high psi tube. Also you loose about 3-4 lbs each time you release your gage so pump it up till it tests 110 because when you release you will be at 106-107. Pinch flats SUCK! Traction Rules!
Great video dude! I've thought about it, but I'm concerned about the BDF....Big Dude Factor. I run 18/18 on Xena 24/7 and I can't go any lower because I'll start to feel the rim. Therefore I don't see how using the system would give me any type of advantage. Thoughts? Is Tubliss only for you skinny lads?
That system is way cool. I once watched a guy fill his tire with grass after he got an irreparable flat and had no spare tube. This would have been a much better option than grass.

Just awesome, thanks for the review! I would never have the stones to test them like that, but it gives me great peace of mind that they will handle my much-more-mundane demands with ease. I love the fact that (a) you can use a simple plug kit and (b) failing that, you have run-flats!!! My only remaining concern is wheel balance, as I do have to ride my dual-sport on the highway...do you just make a best-effort with these? Is it a problem at moderate highway speeds (~70)? I'm already used to dealing with knobbies on the street; as long as this wouldn't make the experience worse, I'm doing it.
I'm running them so far good. Have you found after sitting for a week or so that your outer chamber is flat?
How would Tubless compare to Mousse if a Mousse never broke down needing replacement? Would there still be sufficient pros and cons to choose tubless?
so what about overall life of a tire. is it shorter running at like 5 psi on tubeliss or at like 15psi with a regular tube? (including spending say 50% of the time on the sealed tarmac roads ). as i do alot of that in between dirt tracks... cheers

Everyone that I know that has tried the Tubliss system swears by it, and I have seen just how easy it is to plug a tire out on the trail. That said, for some reason I just can't get over the fact that they aren't approved for street use. I wish the company would provide a little more clarity as to why, rather than just a generic "for off road use only" warning. Great video!
Because the red tubes fill sideways instead of outwards leaving a gap that will overheat
@@benson4u215 that explanation makes no sense. A standard tubeless tire has a large gap and it doesnt overheat.

I got my butt kicked the first time I installed a tire on my tubliss.... then Davey showed me how to spray everything down with MC1 silicone spray.... oh that was some gold there buddy.... slipped back together no problemmo after that! Well done bud!
Ohhhh that's a hint that I might need to use! I recently put that knobby MotoZ on and it'll hold air for a while, but I might need to do the soapy water trick, or maybe a bit of sealant.
I've always had difficulties with getting the motoZ's to mount and dismount as they are extremely stiff sidewalled. But yes as much lubrication as you can and for people who are not running the tubliss system but are tube less a can of starter fluid and spray on the inside of the tire while pumping air to it along with a quick ignition source will get that bastard to bead :P as for dismounting lots and lots of time if you're trying to do it by hand or a actual bead breaker on a machine will do it.
Great review on the Tubliss system too btw. i'll be moab probably around July 23/24 you should show me around some good spots I'll be rolling on my KTM 1190R and probably running MT90's since most my trip is pavement.
i know alot of people who have issues with motoz with tubliss. the inside wall on the motoz arent smooth enough to seal. my local bike shop confirmed this with the people at tubliss.

i have stopped taking them off , i end up using a big craft knife and cut them off , then just slip the wire beads off at the end

is this effective enough at higher pressures to use for on road touring on a dualsport bike. how does the system effect road riding?
Did it take more weights to balance the wheel with the Tubliss system?
Just put them on the rims of my WR250R. My friend had a bitch of a time getting them to seal the air in but they seem ok now. Took 3-5 attempts. So far after 3 rides off road, I am loving them. Had them shop balanced. They had to put like 5 oz of weight on each wheel! Looks weird but the wheels are smooth as silk on the highway running 60-65 mph.
I like the concept but I've had two friends that where it leaks through the spokes. And the tires go flat Not sure why

Great video as always man just a note to others I will second this awesome review TUbliss works unbelievably good every now and again you run into the odd tire that doesn't like to seal perfectly which is what you here most people complaining about but if you can live with it the benefits far outweigh anything negative If you guys have any questions shoot me a message! I have been torturing the system for 2 years on my KTM 300 and my 75hp CR500AF and it works great and the Motoz line of tires are very good.... 👌~ HeddleTown
I'm thinking about running Tubliss on my Beta 300. I'm using Motoz Tractionator Enduro S/T on the front and a Pirelli Mid-Soft Enduro on the rear. So much rock and sand here and I have had flats with UHD tubes before. Are Tubliss really that great? If so, I just might have to try them out.
I can't answer on behalf of Mr eveRide but for me I have been using them for awhile what appeals most is the fact that you can run tires that would otherwise be a throw away or lets just say more worn out, air them down to increase the footprint and you now have a tire with decent traction again! :) Just be warned they 'can' be finicky to seal on certain tire rim combinations but get it sorted out and it works great. I have a TUbliss 'reset' & plugging procedure video on my Instagram if anyone is interest the wheel stays on the bike! ;) Shoot me a msg for a link!
I do it like car tyres, lube and never had an issue. But there are people out there that do it dry.

I rode my tubliss with a flat rear tire and the tube wore through the red outer part and was down to the cords. It's destroyed.
I have a Husky 701 and need to ride around 2 hours to get to dirt. I don't think I will deflate the tires two much, more interested in not needing to carry tubes. do you ride on the highway on a regular basis? This is my regular riding bike so I am likely 70-30 highway-dirt.

eveRide ADV I really wanted to love them, but crappy service means I'll give my money to someone else, it sucks because being in Australia I always buy local if I can.
That's a huge bummer! As they're fairly expensive tires, there is lots of great competition with Dunlop and Pirelli. So do you know if it's Moto Z or Mot OZ? ;)
eveRide ADV almost as much confusion in the Australian camp, but most here go for Mo-toz I think. Could be completely wrong though.

That would be a pretty excellent test! Tubliss doesn't recommend using the system with road-going motorcycles. I know for a fact that they work fine on the road, but Tubliss doesn't want a lawsuit or anything, I think. I should try it on the KLR, but they don't make a 17" system that would fit the KLR or DR650 rear wheel. Dang!

It's because they are not DOT approved. to be DOT you need to be certified and that would cost money and mean a much more expensive product. I remember they were working on TUBliss DOT systems for street bikes but no clue where that ever went or didn't go.
Your actually getting most of your increased traction from a longer contact patch rather then only a slightly wider patch when running lower psi.
Timestamp 0:09 looks like not enough air. Sinking in to the cracks and crevices of a landscape where the tire is laying but that's just me HAVE A GOOOOOOD RUN jimmy

Enduro North Nz did you go back to mousse after that? I do extrem enduro I the UK and slice the mousse to pieces all the time. Are tubliss worth trying?

Excellent question Eduard! You can use the tubliss system with a tube-type tire just fine.
Eduard Avas any tire will work, but you should use harder tires with stiff sidewalls.
Stiff sidewalls are definitely a good idea. My "torture tire" was a cheap Shinko that I split just spooning it on. Good tires will last a long time with the Tubliss.

Hey Tyler, would this system work on a KLR650?
Unfortunately only for the front wheel as they don't make one for 17 inch rims and probably never will. People have asked....nothing yet.

Any thoughts on using Tubliss when you are riding an hour to the trails?
We rode the 0 psi tire about 50 miles on-pavement and it actually worked well. The 450x has tubliss in it and it also worked well at 8 psi on the road fine. My buddy Chris (Twig's ADV) rode with them from Ukiah California to St. George Utah and back without an issue. They're good stuff!
I did a 3000 mile trip across the SW USA on Tubliss, including crossing the Mojave on the highway in triple digit heat. I've never had a problem with them, they rock.

this system interest me a lot for my crf300l.
Really wanting to try the TuBliss system but it's so expensive and the wheel needs balancing, adding more unsprung weight. But the pros seem to out weigh the negatives.
From what I have read it pays to use slim or some other internal sealant, this will help with the bead sealing and it's good for self healing small hole (as it is in a tubed system)
Tires are you first line of suspension. I can’t see how having the benefit of traction at zero psi would out way the risk of tacoing in your rim on a rock.
I thought the same thing until I watched his video of the entire moab ride, 2 parts, with the zero psi Tubliss. They did not ride gingerly with that setup. The dude on the Tubliss was every bit as aggressive as the other riders and there wasn't even additional sidewall damage on the tire. It's amazing!
Better way to say it is that less psi bigger foot = more traction.

Coming from mountain bikes, where tubeless is commonplace, why don't you guys run sealant? It's a gooey liquid that is put inside your tire that turns to rubber when you get a slice in your tire, effectively blocking the leaks.
Some guys do, some don't. I have sealant in my front but not the rear on my dirt bike at the moment. Dirt bike tires are much tougher than mountain bike tires also, so holes aren't nearly as common in my expterience. Every flat tire I've personally had was a result of a tube failure or a pinch flat, not a tire puncture.

it's really hard for me to buy one, because I get ultra heavy duty tubes for free all the time (because they have a hole) I patch them and ride them forever, didn't have a pinch or a flat in 3 years and when I did , the tublis would have not helped because was a cactus that went thru. I'm not saying it's a bad system, I just cant see myself buy one.
