Grew up on all these films made me a …Lost guy for life. Now to see Matt’s boards at the top podium at every comp is nothing but inspiring. Putting the best equipment under the best surfers feet…since the beginning.

As an old man of 40 I’m a little conflicted that I still love this so much. These dudes are such immature a** holes but they rip and the soundtrack is the best of all time.

The comment was about the guys who throw together videos of random sports just because they like to make videos and may not have any true interest in surfing beyond the role of a spectator. Those videos are jam packed with dub-step and slow folksy stuff that doesn't do anything to amp someone up before a session. Obviously your "42+ years" hasn't done anything to mellow you out. Wow.

Surfing isn't a sport. This video is a "lost" relic of what the lifestyle used to be like.
Now it is dominated by a cookie-cutter pro surf scene and fucking soccer moms.

My original comment was about guys who don't participate in the sports that they make videos about, so some of the aspects of the video (music) don't properly represent the culture. Back when surfing had a bit of attitude. Now it’s ultra professional with all smiley faces and totally straight laced. The athleticism is over the top now, guys are cross training...but all the punk rock is gone.

Definitely, the good "ol" days of surf videos with good music, In college we used to watch the videos before going out to Los Osos and then back at the pad before going out on the town. Randall and Gilligan from the first video were classic. To bad partying hardcore like that puts some miles on your life and lessons learned. I used to watch this video a lot when I was younger. Now that I'm older I noticed a few things that were ironic. Mainly the opening sequence when the guy's talking about why they were making another film. His teeth had the look of nuclear waste, I'm guessing from a certain kind of bad habit. Definitely a salty one.
